This is our 3rd time to The Tides, we chose it primarily due to the close proximity to our son’s apartment. It is perfectly located in easy reach of Heisler Park, Main Beach and the town - all in a few mins walk. The best part is the swimming pool - very clean, with plenty of sun loungers.

It has no sound proofing whatsoever. We could hear every noise our neighbours made. Every noise. So that means they could also hear us!!! This time we were on 2nd floor, the previous two times we were on the ground level and it didn’t seem to be as bad then. It could also do with a spruce up, a little tatty inside the room with paint peeling on the ceiling and old curtain rail mounts still left in place. Also, there were no glasses for drinks and only 2 small cups for the Keurig coffee maker.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tides. For a stay over New Years Eve we were surprised at the price of the room, especially because it included parking for free and there was no resort fee so what they charged is what you paid. The location is amazing and were were able to walk all around the main part of Laguna which is full of restaurants, interesting shops and art galleries. There was easy access to the main beach as well as Cressant Cove that has good snorkeling. The room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. It has lots of period charm with high ceilings and 1950s tiles. They provided ear plugs but we thought it was very quiet after 8 pm. PCH was suddenly very quiet, and we slept very well. The hotel was full but we didn't hear much from our neighbors.

Size of bathroom.

The staff are lovely and truly care about their property. It feels like a home away from home. The pool is warm, the bbq is hot and the poolside seating is welcoming. Cleaning staff are attentive and welcoming. The front desk staff are very kind and helpful. It’s a 10 minute walk to downtown Laguna Beach and all the amenities. We will definitely return.

This is a PCH motel so if you are expecting a resort it is exactly what it looks like. You will hear cars. The motel has been here a long time so it is quaint and not swanky. It’s perfect if you are looking for a nice spot to stay for a while.

Location was great. We walked everywhere. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator which was very helpful to keep drinks and snacks. They also had a Keurig coffee maker and cups. The room was black and white decor with splashes of red. Very pretty. Staff told us all the rooms have a different theme. Very nice staff; pleasant and helpful. Pool area was well maintained and had both sun and shade (we wanted shade). There was a bbq and a bar area with stools also a fireplace with a conversation area. Room AC was wonderful after the unusual heat in Laguna Beach

There was no breakfast. When we asked about it they said they had a bowl of fruit in the office Faucet in tub didn’t shut off-leaked heavily We advised staff

Clean comfortable room that has everything you need, close to everything in Laguna Beach. Parking is right on the property and safe. Pool area very spacious and the temperature was warm even though the weather was on the cold side.

Since we were beside the laundry room and the drains obviously needed service, our room had a sewer smell when laundry was in use. The hotel did let us use a candle for the smell so that helped.

Excellent location. Close to coffee (shout out to Jedediah and Endless Quest), grocery store, restaurants, beaches, and Heisler park (paths on bluffs above water). Can walk to downtown within 10 minutes and continue down PCH towards other food and shopping if you so desire. The Tides had great service. Would stay again.

Shower drain smelled.

Location was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Access to downtown Laguna Beach was easily walkable. Parking was good though a bit tight. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was functional. There is a nice swimming pool although we didn't try it, yet I was drawn to definitely try it the next time.

I have no real complaints. I would not recommend coming there in a large pickup, because the parking is a bit tight, but I was able to park my SUV without problems.

Location was excellent. Room and facilities were very clean and orderly. Staff (Sara, Anderson, housekeeping) was very accommodating, attentive and very nice. The handwritten note welcoming us was a nice touch. We really do like coming here. Air conditioning worked excellent, Shower/toilet worked perfectly. Two really good restaurants in short walking distance.

Room 213 was said to be quiet. Unfortunately, we could hear our neighbors almost like we were in the same room but a bit muffled. There is no phone in the room which would be convenient to contact the office in my pajamas. Price went up exponentially from the time we started coming here.

We really enjoyed staying at the Tides!!! The location was the best!!! I loved the way the hotel was “hidden” from the main road by the huge green hedge. It allowed privacy for the beautiful pool!! The room was awesome! Having the little kitchenette was a major plus! We loved the comfy bed and the shower was big enough to move around in! Our time in Laguna Beach was fantastic, due in large part to our stay at The Tides!!

The only improvement I would recommend might be a mat of some kind in the shower. The tiles were a bit slippery. There were bars to grab in case of slipping, but a rubber mat would be a good addition!

Great location! Friendly staff, very clean, great heated swimming pool and pool was very clean and well maintained. Great to have your own kitchen and fridge! I was specifically looking for a hotel that had a kitchen and it was wonderful to have
