I really liked the look of the motel. The room is very new and clean. The room is quite small

Even though the room is actually very small, I really liked the room, which is why I gave it a 10.

Upon our arrival the staff was very friendly. Answered all of our questions about check-in and check-out and was very helpful in telling us about the local hotspots to search for activities and food! Very polite, entertaining and informational.

While we understood that we were paying for the quality of the rooms, (less price being less comfortable) we did notice that the frames for the mattresses were squeaky and made a metallic knocking noise when we would move on the beds. It made it slightly disruptive when we were trying to sleep.

The price was good, the location was good, the staff was good. The cleanliness was very good. Rolanda my room attendant was very helpful and always available for anything I needed.

The dark blue colors of the room walls made for a claustrophobic night but the bathroom window helped a lot. No art whatsoever in the room detracts from the experience. Outdoor chairs outside each room would be a plus for guests to have someplace outside their dark rooms to sit a spell to feel the fresh air.

I belive the property was completely remodeled within a few years.The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. The matress was top quality with warm blankets and soft sheets. Beding and matress were free of stains appeared to be newer The innkeeper, Henry, and his staff were friendly and courteous. I felt very welcome there.

No complaints whatsoever

Staff was very nice, and the rooms were adequate. A little on the small side but we really only needed beds to sleep in for the night as we were only stopping in Monterey for one night and then heading south. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, working ice maker, and a great sushi spot two blocks away.

My room was incredibly clean. I really enjoyed interacting with the staff. The man in the office was extremely helpful. I definitely would stay there again.

It wasn’t a big deal. But the motel is near the airport and occasionally you could hear one take off overhead.

The staff was as nice as it gets and went above and beyond. The room vastly exceeded our expectations and the place was clean and comfortable. For the value especially, you can't do better. We were just hoping for a simple little place without issues and The Fireplace Inn went above and beyond in all aspects.

Very few things to complain about. The ice machine wasn't working when I tried it, and that was our only issue.

Sits between Granma's Diner and Black Bear Diner, Happy Dragon across street is excellent Laundry across street. Safeway close by and good gas stations. 20 minutes from the Wharf, Laguna Seca is very close. We enjoyed the stay. Costco is also very close as is a fruit stand.

The room seemed to be quite recent, happy with the amenities. It was very clean and cozy for decent price. Would stay here again.

Door was not sealed very well so the cold was getting in. The heater was rather loud given the fact it has to stay on during night. The bathroom was also quite cold.

We stayed here for the Monterey Jazz Festival. Every where else, even the hotels not within walking distance, increase their prices by 200 per night. This place did not. It is within walking distance of a great breakfast place. The room was clean AND the staff/owner incredibly kind.
