It’s designed for people with cars. The parking is really safe. Only the ones who are checked in have access to the underground garage. There is a room key card scanner at the entrance of the underground garage. The parking is spacious as well. The ease of parking our car feels like the parking layout is was well thought out. The rooms are safe as well. Like the garage, only the ones who are checked in can go inside the rooms. There is also a room key card scanner at the entrance to the rooms. Additionally, there is a direct access from the rooms to the garage. They layout is extremely well designed for security. There is also an ice dispenser at the floor where our room is located. The location is nice as well. There are restaurants nearby. Looking through the window, I can see the Golden Gate Bridge from a distance when there is no fog. There is also a safe in the room so we were able to put our valuables in there. Overall an efficient experience and I definitely would visit again if I have a car with me.

It looks old. There is no refrigerator nor a microwave. Do not bring takeaway. We left the takeaway at our table and then the next day after waking up, there were ants crawling already. But these negatives did not hinder our enjoyable experience at SF.

Great location near Marina and several bus lines, large room, clean, underground gated parking lot. Large queen bed was pretty comfortable. We especially liked Rose's cafe for brunch and Jaranita Peruvian for dinner. 1 block away you can rent bikes.

Aging building that is well maintained with newer bathroom but could use paint job. Older but solid furniture. Slow elevator. Excellent restaurants nearby.

The room is nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking underground was locked and made me feel our car was safe. The parking is free. I really like the hotel.

What I didn’t like was the extremely loud bars across the street. I have never heard that much noise before. People were screaming until after 3:00 am in the morning. I barely slept. It’s not the hotels fault but sleep is important to me.

We always stay here. It is clean, comfortable, reasonable and in a great location.

Minor complaints: We heard some noise from the hallway ice machine. There is not a refrigerator.

Very good location. We felt very safe in this area and walked everywhere we went including Fisherman’s wharf, Pier 39 and 33 and to Safeway for groceries (10 minute walk) as we had a fridge in the room. A touch noisy at night on weekends but if wanting to stay on Lombard, it will be noisy anywhere. If you’re sensitive to noise I’d suggest asking for a room that does not face Lombard. Staff were very friendly and helpful and indicated on a map the areas to avoid. The rooms themselves were larger than expected and very comfortable.

We were on the third floor (highest level) and the water pressure sucked. It might be just fine on floors 1 and 2 but it was less than desirable on 3. There was plenty of hot water though, so that made up for the lack of pressure… a bit.

Great location with parking! Wonderful staff, the front desk staff were very helpful, also with directions, sending us to good restaurants and walkable coffee breakfast spots! housekeeping was polite and very thoughtful and took care of anything we needed i.e., extra coffee, etc. Our room was on the corner, which we loved, and was very spacious. A little noisy from a bar across the street in the late evening , but it didn’t last long. We will definitely stay here again! The room price was very good, a deal!

Can’t think of anything.

Good size room, clean and tidy. Check in was quick and lovey lady receptionist very helpful and friendly.

Lots of street noise, maybe needs better windows. On checkout male receptionist was rude and unhelpful when asking about directions.

The location was very good - near to Fillmore Street and with a bus stop just outside for going further afield. Walking to fisherman's wharf approx half an hour. Plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Shops and off licences round the corner. Nearby cafe gives 10pc off breakfast for guests.

An impersonal motel and no interaction with staff unless you have a specific question (which they may or may not be able to answer). Furnishings could do with updating. A fridge in the room would be good.

They were able to accommodate my requests. I requested a fridge, which they provided me for the duration of my stay. I checked in quite early (about 10am, if I remember correctly) and they were able to have the room ready for me pretty quickly. Also, I requested the quietest room that they have, and they provided me with a room that has no view, and it was pretty much completely quiet, which honestly surprised me, considering how busy this area is! It was absolutely PERFECT for my desires! Very nice and friendly staff. The bed was soo comfortable, I haven't slept that well in ages, seriously. The location is also excellent, as there's an endless amount of restaurants nearby, and the beach is just a couple of minutes away. Thank you for everything, I'll certainly book here again when I go back to SF!

If I had to be picky, I'd say that the showers water pressure was a bit weak.

It didn't look like it by day, but by night, we learned it was on the corner of a "happening" street... so there were lots of people at the restaurants and clubs, but they didn't seem to be sketchy....just out for a night on the town. But the street noise was loud. However, our room was on the opposite side of the building, and was VERY quiet. (Bring ear plugs in case you're on the noisy side). Our room was clean. The bed was firm but comfy. We felt like we had a good amount of space... and the closet was large with plenty of hangers, and lots of drawers, etc. Also, the heat lamp in the bathroom was awesome (and added light). Free parking was a huge plus... but most of the spaces, like everywhere in San Diego, are pretty small. As far as location, it was just a few blocks from the Marina, so it made for a great, level (impossible to find elsewhere in the city... lol) 3-5 mile out-and-back run along the water, with awesome views of the bridge one direction and views of the city and Alcatraz on the way back. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there, and decided that Chelsea Inn will be our go-to place for future visits to SF.

Our window was more of a light source than actually being able to see anything out of it, not even an alley. But I'm sure that location in the building is also what made it so quiet, so I really can't have my cake and eat it, too, right? I'll take the quiet : ). The other thing was that the overall lighting in our room was a little dimmer than I like (but I like lots of light). And as mentioned before, the parking was a bit squeezy... but both parking levels felt clean and safe.
