great location, large rooms, friendly staff, and very clean. I really enjoyed the pool this trip.
Our first room, booked through booking.com, had a sofa bed (Murphy bed) which really surprised me, it wasn’t at all comfortable. In all my years of travel I have never been given a room with a sofa bed to sleep on. The cushions for the couch were stored in the closet, taking up space. We were able to pay a little extra for a larger room with a real bed for our remaining two nights. When I booked, I mistakenly thought I was getting a king bed. Our friends who booked through the hotel site received a bottle of wine at Check in, we didn’t. The sofa bed room had one comfortable chair to sit on, so one of us sat on the bed while the other sat on the cushioned chair. The room had three dining chairs, not made for relaxing on. The boxed continental breakfast was average at best.

The hotel is lovely and the environment was natural amidst the vineyard. It was quiet and relaxing. We had lots of privacy during our stay. The room was also spacious and lovely. We were allowed late check out and that was very helpful!
We were celebrating two birthdays during our stay. I contacted the establishment ahead of time to secure welcoming amenities upon arrival. I was told they provide no complimentary amenities for guests celebrating birthdays. I thought they could at least have left a birthday note in the room. Since this is such a high end hotel, this seems like a misstep. It was a failed opportunity to make guests feel special Also, our breakfast order had errors. Because it was a busy time, we did not get it rectified in time. That was disappointing.

First, please know that overall our stay at Carter Estate was wonderful - the grounds are beautiful, the wine tasting staff greeted us, welcomed us, was informative; the wine tasting at Carter and South Coast was enjoyable. The room at Carter was delightful - cozy, warm, a nice breakfast; the room was clean and well stocked with towels; we appreciate that the room includes so much seating space (couch, chair, table with 4 chairs) and a fridge. < ALL of that was wonderful! The issue we experienced is the Registration staff - upon arrival we were not greeted or welcomed, we were told to expect a call when the room was ready - no one called (check in staff confirmed my phone number); when we came back after tasting at the Carter tasting room, the same check in staff dismissed us when we kindly asked why we weren't notified the room was ready. The staff member flippantly said, my manager was supposed to do that... lame, irresponsible, immature. Upon check out, we experienced different staff but the same incompetence and inability to greet, welcome, and interact with patrons... what's the problem here Carter? The place is great, the wine tasting staff and experience is great, but check in and check out bookend a vacation and Carter Estate hires inconsiderate staff to interact with their guests and that is disappointing.

The room was spacious and very clean with an absolutely beautiful view and direct access to the vineyards right out our French doors, the bathroom had a large walk in shower w/twin showers and also included a large jacuzzi tub. The continental breakfast had great selections to choose from and was delivered to your door every morning at your designated time.
These were the small issues we had encountered, the remote was stashed under the bed took a while to locate, the hot water was just barely hot enough to use the jacuzzi tub, and the nextdoor quest had an unauthorized group of people show up which means we lost our front door parking, otherwise all was well.

Room is nice and roomy with good accommodations.
The room had a couple things needing repair or replacement. It’s too expensive. It’s only a once a year place. Can’t afford it otherwise.South Coast restaurant is horrible. I have been twice. The food is way too expensive. Quality of food is poor. The waitress don’t write anything down and got mine and my Wife’s order incorrect and they also got my order wrong the first time I was there. I paid $500 for dinner and didn’t want to say anything with the guest we have. 2 start facility. For the price they should get the order correct

Have stayed at Carter Estate before. It is a Temecula Valley prefect retreat to enjoy a small but beautiful resort. Please do try their the wines and take the shuttle to the sister winery, Southcoast.
Forgot to tell us that if we did the wine tasting we would have a bit of a discount being a guest. Only found out when i went over to Southcoast Winery and they informed me of the discount and so actually bought wine from both.

I loved the view of the room. Being able to look out into the vineyards from our room and being about to sit outside and enjoy some wine was great. I also loved the huge bathtub in our room it was great.
I loved everything, only thing I would say is that I did wait about three hours before I was given a room. Luckily, guest services let us access the pool so we can wait there with some nice shade and drinks. We just spent the time in the pool and the three hours flew right by.

We were blown away by the property's view and beauty. We booked the weekend for our anniversary and it really exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were friendly, and the vineyard views from our patio made breakfast extra delicious. We will be planning to stay again in the future and hope to be regular visitors to Temecula! We highly recommend Carter Estates. The wine is the icing on the cake. You must try their selection before any other winery.
We were sad to leave.

The morning views of the hot air balloons from the patio was amazing! I loved sipping on my morning coffee watching them float by. The proximity to vineyards and wineries was great! The bottle of wine was a treat and I loved the jet tub. It's also pet friendly which is a plus for me!
Murphy bed was a weird set up and it was chipped on the edges. Also, carpet looked a little dated and worn. The breakfast was ok, but would be nice to have it on dishes and not paper containers. For the amount you pay, you would expect it to not appear so basic.

The resort is hidden away at the back of the driveway. The room was quite large with electric fireplace, dining table and sofa area. Huge bathroom. Breakfast was delivered earlier than we had requested but we were awake so no complaints with the early delivery. We were able to watch the hot air balloon over the vineyard. Charming. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside on the little patio. We'll have to go back!
Shower was hard to work. No microwave as I would like to have warmed up the breakfast muffins.
