Ouray is an easily walkable town, but the historic Hotel Beaumont is well-situated along the Main Street, with incredible views of the valley and surrounding mountains from all directions and easy access to local shops and restaurants. Reserved parking available on-site, which is helpful. The building has been very nicely restored, including modern updates to the bathrooms / showers / tubs, while preserving a lot of the charm and character of Ouray's history as a mining town and Western outpost. The on-site tavern and coffee shop are both excellent (albeit NYC prices, but also high quality and worth the cost)
Largely due to the vintage of the building, the rooms are a bit dark (lightwise and also due to the color palette, which is part of the historic character of the design of the building) - I had to really draw back the shades to let in natural light and some brighter lamp lighting might be a nice to have. No full-length mirror in the room (which seemed to be a thing throughout my stay in SW Colorado), but that could easily be remedied, and done so in a manner that preserves the period character of the decor. Very little to complain about as this property was a very comfortable option (and I say that as a longtime visitor to Ouray who usually stays with family who live in town!)

Starting with the most wonderful and friendly staff at this property. They were as delightful as the property itself. A charming vintage property with period furnishings. It was quiet, warm, cozy and very private. We never saw another guest and they had plenty of rooms occupied. Everything we needed was within walking distance, great food, drinks, shops and entertainment was just steps out the front door of this historic property. Beds are very comfy with lots of pillows. Bathrooms were large and well appointed with great HOT water. There is simply NOT a single flaw in the property or staff..

The Beaumont is wonderful! It’s is beautifully restored to its original glory with high quality everything. The attention to detail in everything from the furnishing to the wallpaper is very apparent. The white subway tiled bathroom was immaculate! I’ve never seen a cleaner bathroom in a hotel. This place is special!

The room was great, it was spacious and clean. Shower worked great for an old hotel. Towels were nice quality and the staff was friendly. Enjoyed the massage
Bed could have been a little more comfortable. Front desk was great but housekeeping knocked on the door about seven minutes after 11 while we were packing. A 12 or 1 pm checkout would be nice

This is a fabulous hotel. The renovation is beautifully done. We loved our stay here. It has a great location on the Main Street in Ouray. Our room was comfortable, spacious and very stylish. The hotel overall is a period piece, with fabulous history. It's a one off!
The reception is only attended though the afternoon. We had to request that our room be lightly serviced. There is no provision for breakfast or a restaurant on site.

I loved that the hotel was so clean and private. It took us back in time! just beautiful antiques, etc. I even loved the "creaks" of the staircase! Beautifully restored. The room was large and comfy! It was kind of fun knowing that Oprah strayed in our room!! I liked having a refrigerator and microwave, as it came in handy! will definetely come back!
What I didn't think was fair was that there is no Spa, no bar, and no restaurant in the hotel as advertised. I understand that staffing is a problem but there should have been FULL DISCLOSURE on that! After all, the price reflects those amenities. They stated on their email that due to Covid, there may be some limitations on those services, but the fact is, there are no services and have not been for quite some time. That needs to be corrected. One of our favorite things to do is to have a n ight cap in the hotel before going to bed, so that was a disappointment as well!

Beautifully restored with an attention to detail
They advertise that there is a hottub or hot springs.... they do not have this on-site which was very disappointing. That is why I was willing to pay such a high price. They claim because of Covid that it has not been put into use again. Then please don't advertise that you have this amenity

Beautiful restored historical hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The room was large. Bathroom was nice appointed with marble floor and sink, separate shower from bath. Thick towels. All the furnishings are refurbished antiques. Lots of coffee and real creamers offered
Lighting is poor despite a number of lamps as the room was still dark A/c unit was very loud Would prefer to have real glasses and mugs instead of paper and plastic. Bottled water should be complementary Disappointed there was no breakfast room

Right from the moment you step into the building, you can feel the history - the laughs, and the love from all the weddings that have taken place there! The rooms we received were absolutely gorgeous: decorated with ornate wallpapers and beautiful old furniture, and the bathtub was absolutely divine even for tall people like myself and my partner! Maria was an absolute and literal angel - her kindness and professionalism made us eager and excited for our next stay! Can’t wait to go back!
The glass on top of the desk could use a dusting underneath but other than that the room was absolutely spotless and pristine.

Location. Location. Location. This was an amazing location. We were able to walk to several hikes, to the restaurants, and to the cute shops along the main street from this hotel. Loved all the history throughout the building and all the staff were knowledgeable and loved sharing the history. We were able to walk to another establishment to enjoy the hot springs (in a cave and outside). The room was comfortable. The shower was amazing. Highly recommend staying at the Beaumont. We hope to come back some day.
Only negative was the room got hot the first night. But the staff helped us solve the problem and the 2nd night was much more comfortable. They gave us a box fan and we put it in the window that we raised just a bit. Now, it was freezing out side so that cooled us down to the temperature we liked sleeping in. If you like sleeping warm, then you won't need this.
