The historical style (art deco) of the hotel. The restaurant was excellent. The location is perfect.

Not enough furniture in the room. You cannot empty your suitcase: no chest of drawers, no drawers at all (not even in the nightstands). The bathroom is basic. So I don’t advise this place for more than 2 nights.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and the service was impeccable.

We were on the 2nd floor everytime the room above us showered a high pitched screech like a siren would sound the whole time. It woke us up around 1am for 20 some min. The hotel did provide the option to move to a new room but at 1am we didnt feel like packing up and moving at that very moment. The lights from outside did come in quite a bit even with room darkening shades which I know there isn't anything more they can do about that. The breakfast wasn't anything great. Muffins, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels and coffee/teas. Not a selection of protein. The beach chairs, towels were provided which was great! The only other thing is our sink drained very slow. They probably need to get the pipes cleaned out.

perfect location in the middle of Ocean Drive. very nice lobby and kind receptionists. nice restaurant in the evening. great ocean view room for a very good price (295usd (including everything )in February) I have checked other hotels nearby in the same category and they were much more expensive. although they state on booking.com that no parking is available , for usd 20/day there is guarded municipal parking available 800 meters from the hotel.

rooms could be a bit renovated, but they are absolutely ok and very clean. buffet breakfast could be a bit better. manager should take care of booking.com details as I would have chosen this hotel for 4 nights instead of 1 if I knew there is public (municipal) parking available not far from here(14th street) for only 20usd /day(incl. tax) .

Avalon is located in an excellent location and definitely worth the stay if you want to be in the middle of everything. The staff was always kind and helpful. Walkable to the beach, decent breakfast goes until 11am. Ocean facing king room is spacious with very comfortable bed, you can see the ocean (the trees are starting to block some of it). Beach towels are available at the front desk and small (very small) beach chairs are in the room closet. You may just decide to rent the ones on the beach if you need more comfort. The hotel turns into the restaurant A Fish Called Avalon starting at 430pm, but the bar does not open until 530.

Our room was near the cleaning closet and each morning we could hear the cleaning staff at about 8am. There are no blackout curtains and if you are a sensitive sleeper you may need to wear an eye mask as the light does come through the shades and windows. There is no valet parking, and no onsite food or bar during the day.

Location is amazing. On Ocean drive and across the road from the beach. The area is very safe and clean. The breakfast in the morning is fine and sets you up for the beach. Staff are really excellent. From reception to maid service and bar staff. Any request was met with a smile. Beds are very comfortable and new towels and toiletries left daily along with water. Nice cold fridge and free safe also in the room. I would certainly stay here again and will recommend The Avalon to all my friends and family

Room is a little small as we had 4 people and there is little to no storage for clothes. We just lived out of our suitcases. There wasn’t many plugs and ours was behind a table so we had to climb under it to use. However I want to emphasise these where only small issues and didn’t take away our enjoyment

We picked this hotel because my son saw it in "Bad Boy for Life." The location was perfect! The room was a great size and had excellent views. We stayed for eight nights and were never bored. The staff went above and beyond. They had lots of suggestions for things to do, even during the coldest Christmas Miami had seen in 30 years. Speaking of the weather, living in the South I know that our typical heating systems don't acclimate to the cold. The hotel was awesome about bringing up an extra blanket...straight out of the dryer! The restaurant was fabulous! There was breakfast every morning that included some sort of egg dish, another protein, danish, pastries, bread, cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices. While breakfast was good, dinner was OUTSTANDING! We ate in the restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, on Christmas Eve and again for my son's 16th birthday. I can highly recommend this hotel.

As with most places in the South, their heating system is not equipped to handle extreme, for Miami, cold. The staff offered extra blankets straight from the dryer.

Loved location of Avalon and its proximity to South Beach. Lots and lots of art deco building to see and lots and lots of lovely places to eat. Breakfast is a bonus included in price and very tasty also, with hot and cold options available. The bedrooms are clean and surprisingly quiet considering that you are right on front of South Beach. Towels and beach chairs are provided if you would like to spend a couple hours on beach and to swim in the beautiful ocean. Worth a visit for a couple of days and have no problems recommending to others.

Absolutely nothing.

The overall atmosphere of the hotel and the friendly staff helped make this staff in Miami Beach a memorable moment for us. The staff were helpful and courteous. The location was fabulous. The look and feel of a 1950's hotel with modern amenities was almost to good to be true! It was an incredible night. The overall look of the building with the Neon Lights and 50's vibe. The 1956 Chevy setting out front was so quaint and perfect for the mood of the facility. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, which helped add to the overall wonderful experience.

Nothing!!!

Location, rooms, staff, restaurant food. The location is fantastic as well as being really convenient. Whilst there is no valet parking there is a very convenient car park close by for $20 per night, valet parking is expensive all around the area. Whilst it is a drive around the one way system to take the car, it is only a short walk along one street back to the hotel. The rooms with a view on Ocean Drive are excellent, bigger than others and with great beds and pillows. It is definitely worth paying extra for these rooms and we would definitely do so again. Staff on reception go out of their way to help and are very professional. The restaurant was good for breakfast, with delightful staff, and great in the evenings, with a wide selection of quality dishes on offer.

If you like to spend time relaxing in a social space in the late afternoon/evening you can’t really do it here as the whole of the downstairs (inside and out) is used for the restaurant. There is a small bar area but there is only room for about a dozen people maximum and no space to chill with a book or chat. If two groups are in the bar it’s full. As it gets dark early in Miami it’s difficult to sit outside on your own.
