Good location. Within walking distance to Waikiki beach, restaurants, convenience stores (ABC stores) and tons of shopping around.

We had to pay ~$60 per person for rental amenities when we arrive. Rooms are not soundproof from noise in the corridor so expect to be woken up in the middle of the night by creaking and swinging doors.

Central pool and bar area was fantastic. Day beds were comfortable and pool towels were plush and a great size. Staff welcoming and accommodating. Had all the little extras. Loved the retro decor and fun vibes that not many places can create. Biscuits and slushes available at reception. Had a point of difference in area. All the frills in comparison to standard hotel/apartments. Worth paying a bit extra to find this hidden oasis. My daughter loved being able to feed the fish, play the games available, jump in the pool to cool off. Comfy beds and pillows. Loved the blockout curtains. Ceiling fan and air con on both available.

The room did smell musty. There were some water stains on the roof. The kitchenette needs some redesign. Seeing the back of the microwave was a bit unusual. It was a pretty dark room.

The staff was outstanding, live music and the hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to Everything. There was even a bus route one block from the hotel that took us directly to Pearl Harbor. Also, I appreciated the fact that the advertise pictures of the hotel on the website weren’t filtered so you knew exactly what to expect upon arrival! I love and Appreciated the honesty!

The carpet was well vacuumed, but needed to be shampooed/Deep cleaned. The water would somehow wet the majority of the bathroom floor whenever we showered. The bathroom glass window panes needed to be cleaned/dusted as well as the baseboards and upper shelf behind the toilet.

White Sands Hotel is like an oasis amongst the high rise hotels. Lots of plants outside our balcony & big tree! We loved the old school vibe from the fringed umbrellas by the pool, the swings at the bar and the tasteful, retro styling of the rooms (especially the awesome bedheads). The pool lounges were super comfortable. Loved the retro Tiki styling of the foyer. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Koi pond below our window was beautiful and calming.

The hot water didn't work the whole time we were there - kept being reset and then just switched off again (they refunded us some of our room fee, which was good). They said they would also refund us our early check-in fee but didn't do that. Would have loved a kettle and some reusable cups in our room as a standard feature. They brought up a kettle and some paper cups when we requested some though.

Everything! Amazing vibe, kind receptionists, comfortable room and bed, wonderful style! The patio with the pool and bar outside is AMAZING. Very clean and taken care of. We loved everything and we will stay here for sure next time we come back to O'ahu. So much better than those ugly high-rise buildings! A total oasis. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We LOVED the place. Here's just a couple of suggestions for improvement: 1.maybe it was for covid restrictions, but there was no coffee machine nor cutlery nor cups/plates/glasses in the little kitchen in the room. It's such a great kitchen that it's a pity not to use it; 2. It would be great if there were more vegan options in the menu, the world is changing; 3. the shower is great but very low, it could easily be made higher with a cheap curved tube that goes upwards (just a suggestion).

Nice hotel with a bar and pool. Has a resort vibe but is closer to the restaurant and shop areas rather than beach. Beach is about 10-15 minutes walk. Staff will provide you towels to take. Staff are friendly. Bar is nice with bartenders who are very attentive. Rooms are good sized with small kitchen and balcony.

Shower probably needs some updating. Very small head probably to save water which is fine but is a bit old. No lifts so if bringing a heavy bag better to request a ground floor room.

Very cute retro hotel in an excellent location. Steps from some of the best restaurants in Waikiki. comfortable beds and fun decor. The pool area and bar are great places to spend a few hours winding down after a day of exploring O‘ahu.

The shower head in the first room we were given was only just over 5 feet high with no wand attachment or way to make it higher. The shower is also a narrow stall, so my 6 foot tall friend had no way to comfortably shower. We asked them to move us if possible and after some shuffling they managed to do so. The new room was in a different wing and was much nicer and the shower was a standard height. After the move all was good moving forward.

A perfect mix of nostalgia and updated, fun vibe. Perfect location. Wonderful staff. Loved that it's a walk-up. Pool area and bar also perfection. Surprisingly quiet (great windows?) for being that close to Kuhio. Room decor super cute. The housekeeping persons were so sweet.

A little more light in the check-in area would be lovely--liked that it kept true to the'70s vibe and the view of the bright pool area in contrast but some more lighting needed. There was a trash can in the hall leading from entrance to checkin area that seemed to be overflowing--maybe move that to another more inconspicuous location. More water pressure for shower. Less plastic container amenities would be a big bonus.

This little gem was a good find. Not far from the action of Honolulu but small enough to feel as though you have your own quiet space. The pool space and bar was perfect with great atmosphere both during the day and evening... They also have quiet time between 10pm and 8am allowing rooms around the pool quiet time which was a lovely addition ( mum of 2 young children) . Staff were lovely throughout and facilities were great. Would choose this hotel again.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was good but the cummincation could have been improved. The rooms have kitchenettes but no cups or cutlery to make use of. Would be perfect if complementary tea and coffee was included in the rooms.

Really relaxing vibe, loved the live music at night, very clean comfy and close to everything

One of the staff on reception was very rude and made no effort to let people know when their rooms were ready for check in and had a pool party the same day which removed all beds from the pool area to wait and relax on. Arrived at 6am and had to wait til 3pm but others were being let in before us. I complained and was then told we could check in after following up multiple times. Not ideal but other than that, all other staff were lovely
