I really enjoyed my stay at Arlo's! The staff was super friendly and inviting - loved the small interactions we would have throughout our stay. They not only accommodated some of my small requests and gave some great recommendations, but also offered something for the birthday we were celebrating (which was very thoughtful!) Our room was very comfortable, we always had fresh and clean towels, and the warm lighting made it super cozy. The location is perfect if you are hoping to stay in downtown area. It's walking distance from multiple subway lines, right in front of many buses, a few blocks from the river and Millennium Park - honestly, it's the perfect spot for a tourist. Lots of food options around the hotel, and so many museums that are easy to get to directly. They had a spotless fitness center and it was really cool that you could borrow a yoga mat for your room! We were really impressed with this hotel and it's accessibility to everything we wanted to do in our week trip to Chicago - I def recommend it!

This really doesn't have much to do with the hotel itself, but the restuarant was not so good. Staff was great, I'm sure the bar fine, but the food itself is a very hard pass. Another thing I felt was odd was that some days our coffee and water would be refilled and other days they weren't. We had to flag down a staff member for a few cans of water...not sure if it wasn't supposed to be refilled, but I feel like since we pay a resort fee, we should be recieving a refill for those.

The location was great, the hours of the gym and kitchen met our needs. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. My husband loved the espresso maker in the room. Definitely a high-end experience.

The lights under the bed were a disaster. Way too bright and came on and off constantly during the night, reflecting off the refrigerator door into my eyes. There MUST be a way to turn those off. Also, there should be a way to disable the automatic light in the bathroom. I don't put the light on during the night, yet it popped on every time. A real annoyance not to be able to control the lighting in my environment. I did want to mention the $100/night per room security deposit held on a card at checkin. That was a shock. It wasn't a problem for me, but it might be for some travelers and it's something they'd do well to let guests know about before checking in. I could see that being a problem for some travelers.

Great location, very modern hotel with large rooms, it’s is good to have the extra space. Beds are very comfortable. Being able to cast your phone to TV is also an added bonus! Water in room was also very helpful. Could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobe.

The carpets could use a bit more of a clean. Shower cubicles could do with a bit of a deep clean. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are rather flat. My suitcase was returned to me with a deep scratch on it, the last day when collecting it prior to leaving. These scratches were not there when we left it for safe storage. Rooms got very hot over bight with no air conditioning unit to use.

This hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Blue line and less than a 10 minute walk to all other lines. Our room had an amazing view where I saw the sunrise on the river, and we were even able to walk to the river to see it green for St. Patricks Day. The bed was comfortable, and they even texted me to let me know I could text them back if I had any issues. We did have one issue, but it was resolved in less than 10 minutes. Around the corner is a Giordanos (amazing pizza, by the way), and across the street is the Nutella Cafe. We will be sure to stay here next time we're in Chicago.

The hotel premises and room were quite modern and comfortable.

They charged me for a meal that we paid at the restaurant. The charge was taken from my debit card and even though I wrote to the hotel 5 emails, they 've never replied them and they never send me the money back to my account. I know a friend who has the same problem ( he was charged for 200 dollars he never spent). Another warning is that there are slippers and bathrobe (also an unmbrella) but if you use them, they charge for them. Be careful.

Location was great and the updated rooms were good. Staff was helpful.

As others have echoed, food voucher is only good for dinner which isn’t called out until you check in. And one of our 2 nights there was a private event so the restaurant was completely closed. We left our room at 930 and assumed housekeeping just didn’t come during visits because when we got back at 4, they had not. Housekeeping came at 445 to our room which felt odd. And there was fortune cookie on one of the beds when we got there that was an obvious cleaning miss. They have clearly updated but reading lights buil in to the beds didn’t work and our handicapped room had an accessible shower but a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor that remained wet and a hazard the entire time we were there

This location is just lovely, so close to Millennium Park, Riverfront Walk, and more. We loved being able to walk to many restaurants, Garrett's popcorn, and Maggie Daley park for the day with our kids. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our check in experience was smooth and easy. We were grateful for the instructions to pull up at 171 North Garland Court with our vehicle and found it convenient to load/unload luggage there. Parking in the nearby lot was easy enough, just a short walk to/from, of course it was expensive - it's downtown Chicago - about $85 USD for 1.5 days, so account for that as part of your cost. The lobby was very nicely decorated with several seating areas. The restaurant seemed busy, we did not go in. We appreciate that the elevators only work with a key card to ensure the safety of all. We found the room a good size for our family of 4. The beds and pillows were nice and comfortable. The washroom was clean and had a modern shower with built-in soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers rather than tiny bottles. Our double queen room faced onto an alleyway and an office building, so we really appreciated the window coverings. We did not hear any noise while in our room, very quiet for sleeping. We had a great experience and didn't encounter any problems during our stay. It was very pleasant and memorable. Highly recommend!

Beautiful modern decor, great lighting and the scent throughout the lobby is amazing. So amazing I had to buy a diffuser for my house! The soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the room was lemon verbena, my absolute facorite! Excellent location right across the street from Millennium Park and The Bean.

I didn’t dislike anything but I do have a couple of suggestions: the toilet paper could be better, the barn style bathroom door didn’t stay closed, maybe a small latch would help, and maybe some lighting in the cabinet with the nespresso machine - I used my phone flashlight so it was fine, but something to think about.

Bed was super comfy but would have liked extra pillows. Location was great as across the road from Millennium train station and close to shops and easy walk to tourist areas.

I don’t like how late the check in is at 4pm. I also don’t think $100 bond should be needed to be fully paid. I am used to a credit card being held on file if it is needed to pay for any damages which is much better as the room cost was already expensive. The $25 facility fee is quite high when it really only covered wifi for 1 -2 hours. Especially when the tv wasn’t even working for the 2 day stay.

Great design, and close to the downtown atmosphere. Walkable to the Loop and public transit. Plenty of food options and close to some of the tourist sites.

They charge an additional (and unposted therefore unknown to me) $25 per night fee to use the fitness center, use WiFi, and put a $15 voucher to their in-house restaurant. The $15 cannot be used any time other than dinner. This additional fee is non-negotiable and required for every room. Customer service wasn’t great when we requested an iron and ironing board.
