Good location, good vibe, felt safe in the neighborhood

Ceiling fan in bedroom needs light bulbs replaced, also dust is so bad it is coming over the other side on the blades. Light fixture over the spiral staircase needs bulb replaced. Needs fresh soap daily as the soap is so thin it breaks in half when using. Towels should be replaced in the bath by staff. Only decaffeinated coffee was available in the kitchen which neither of us likes.... We were ok going up the spiral staircase to the bedroom in # 10 however you should let people know before booking it is a narrow staircase and steep.

There's seriously TOO many reasons! The staff was AMAZING (Amanda, Sasha, Lauren, Jermaine, Kalifa...) and so welcoming. Even the owner would stop by to check on things and interact w/ guests, exemplifying not only her New Orleans hospitality, but also her love & care for the Guest House. Naturally so...she "grew up" there! It was her father's property, and when he passed he left it to her😇 The whole place has an indescribable charm: the history of the building, the amenities, the location, etc... Everything was, and is, exactly what you'd want for a TRUE New Orleans experience.

Honestly one of the best kept secrets probably listed on booking. If you are on the fence about booking it because of other reviews, just book it!! The 2 bedroom Loft at the very top of Jean Lafitte House is not meant for anyone who can’t climb stairs. It’s a lot of stairs, but so worth it!! The beds were comfortable. The space was clean, and the balcony was my favorite place to be. Close to Frenchmen Street, dive bars, great live music, and away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street, but still walkable to Bourbon Street if that’s your thing. Will definitely book again!

Adding a couple of floor fans to the rooms would make this place perfect.

Can't beat the location. Everything we wanted to see was Within a mile, usually within a few blocks. Easy walk to everything in the French quarter. Amazing to be in such a great central location within blocks of everything and still be quiet so you can rest up for the next day's Adventure

The room itself was beautiful well laid out and appointed but the couch was extremely uncomfortable even to sit on. I was planning on staying on the fold out couch but the mattress was very thin. So I just slept on the couch but the cushions sunk down into the frame. Very uncomfortable to lay on and even sit. There were also quite a few broken blinds that made privacy impossible. Surprising that something so easily and inexpensively corrected has not been addressed.

The staff, Amanda in particular, was wonderful! She is very professional, accommodating, and polite. The amenities are nice, such as a kitchen, with a refrigerator and stove, not to mention the dining room area! It's nice and very spacious. The courtyard is a nice place to chat with friends and family. This is a very quiet and cozy place to stay. We slept quite comfortably.

Please remove the creepy antique car from the parking area. It's located two car spots down from the big pothole.

Great location for cost. Staff were very accommodating. Also the apartment looks SO much better in real life than in the photos on the website. It worked very well for two couples.

Building was noisy due to its age (we could hear every step above us!) and poor noise insulation of windows. It's a very busy neighborhood, especially on weekend nights, but I probably wouldn't recommend staying in the French Quarter or near Frenchman at all if sounds of partying until the wee hours bothers you. Internet connection was very spotty in unit 3, so wouldn't recommend this for working.

Clean. Fantastic staff, loved Max and Blu. Beautiful piece of history to stay in. The water is hot. Beds are comfortable with clean soft sheets. Best part? Something went wrong with our stay and they went out of their way to make it right. Anyone can leave a good review when things go right, but I can honestly say that they are the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in when it comes to being concerned about their customers. They were exceptionally professional but then also deeply empathetic when we had something go wrong. Will be back and will recommend them absolutely.

Beautiful and historic! We loved all the antique furniture and despite their age all the accommodations were quite comfortable. The location was convenient and while we didn’t get to use the pool, it looked like a fun place to hang out. We had a lovely stay at the Jean Lafitte House and would definitely recommend this gorgeous little spot for anyone looking for a unique hotel experience in NoLa.

Unfortunately the rooms were a little dark, which is understandable due to the original architecture of the building, but some additional lights would’ve been helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff, sweet little courtyard, spacious room, comfortable bed, decent water pressure in the shower. A/C worked great, and we loved having a ceiling fan too. Great proximity to local hangouts and indy businesses. Convenient parking.

As with most older buildings, sounds carry through the walls. We could hear much of what was going on in the unit above us. Windows had only blinds and not also drapes, but luckily I had a sleep mask with me to block out the early morning sun.

Close to activities. One block from the quiet lower end of Bourbon street- 3/4 mile to the action- short walk to Jackson Square- liked the loft concept. Nice old world charm.

Our room 10 had weird fitted old curtains- you could lean down from the outside and see inside. It took me a while to fit it for privacy. The other I used a chair to keep the curtains close to window. A lil better job cleaning we found 2 pills on the floor behind the recliner and someone left behind charger- the Crimean upstairs was so dusty it causes a sneezing fit when turned on. The top of the fridge was ignored. Also upon going out I have the habit of checking doors. The second set of double doors was unlocked from the outside! Had I simply trusted the door with the electronic lock and walked off for the day - all of our belongings wouldve been vulnerable to possible theft!
