Beautiful property that sits right on Royal Street, which will take you through to Frenchman St. and the French Quarter easily. This was perfect because one of the Mardi Gras Parade routes went right in front of the property and I was able to watch it from the porch. Note that you just use codes to access the room and that no one greets you upon check in. I traveled here solo and felt safe walking around this neighborhood at night. Definitely always be cognizant of your surroundings, but this area was safe.

I recommend bringing earplugs and an eye mask if you stay here. It feels more like you're staying in someone's home (which at some point this mansion was), so you can hear across the mansion. It was a bit painful trying to sleep with late night revelers who were talking into the early morning hours. The room also had a window above the door to the hallway where the lights were always on, so it wasn't completely dark inside the room at night.

This place is stunning if you love older homes! It really gives the vibe of living in NOLA while on vacation. The kitchen is quaint and has everything you need to prepare meals if you enjoy cooking, minus the food of course 😉 The sitting and dinning area is set up for functionality and to resemble the period of the home. The grounds are small, as most homes in this area are, but they are STUNNING! A private hot tub is a great way to end the day after lots of walking. There is also an enclosed courtyard with tables, chairs, umbrellas and even a grill for providing that at home feel.

We stayed in Room 1, which was The Mariny sweet. It was 2 rooms combined. There was a king size bed, queen size bed and sitting area in between. Great set up, unfortunately we had NO HOT WATER the entire stay. Even after calling, and them sending someone out to look at it, it was barely lukewarm at best. Unfortunately trying to find other means to wash our bodies will keep us from booking here again. 😪

Cute house in a quiet neighbourhood with lots of parking. Felt safe walking around. Lots of friendly cafes and restaurants around. We took the family room right at the entrance. Was worried about in and out noise but all the guest were very respectful. Wish they had a cot for a baby but we made it work. Water takes a bit to warm up but it gets plenty hot. Air conditioning was on when we arrived so it was nice and cool and worked perfectly. You can login on your tv subscribtions. Shared kitchen was nice to microwave and warm up baby food and bottles. Loved the patio in the front. Would definitely recommend this place for a easy New Orleans experience.

The carpet felt a bit old and dirty. You have to go into the main hallway to turn off the front first light or the room is pretty bright from the stain glass window on the wall that goes through to the room.

LOVED the beds, so comfy. Loved the little separate unit we had, I would request this one again! It was like our own house! Maid was super sweet and was cleaning all day making sure it was very clean. Hot tub was excellent. Quiet, got really good sleep here! Walked everyday to French Quarter or to breakfast in the neighborhood. There are so many good places to eat 1-2 blocks away.

Main house smelled a little funny, but I am sensitive! Some small imperfections in our unit, could use a paint job and some repairs, upstairs shower did NOT have hot water so we only used downstairs shower.

This is not a hotel, it's a palace. Of course, the name already suggests this. But many scruffy motels hotels are called King's Court or something, which means absolutely nothing. In this case, the place is really a mansion. Large staircase, a kitchen, an Agatha Christie style living room, back and side garden, porch with rocking chairs. It's almost a pity to go out! That said, I would advise you to do so anyway. And not just towards the crowded center. You can stroll down Royal Street for miles in any direction (try east!) and find many surprising and friendly, authentic sports or music bars, restaurants, breweries, coffee and breakfast places.

It's all automated, so you just open doors by code and rarely see any staff.

We truly enjoyed our stay here. For our first time visiting New Orleans, it was a must to stay somewhere that has that New Orleans charm and the Mansion on Royal did just that! We stayed in room #6 which is actually a newly renovated 2br with a loft that we absolutely loved. The location of the property was exceptional with Bourbon St and the French Quarter fairly close, but still a very quiet and cozy stay. We will be back!

We loved everything however, the water pressure in the shower was really low and unfortunately, we were not able to use the balcony as it was being renovated. I wish we were given a heads up about the work being done but nonetheless, still a great stay!

The balcony was wonderful to sit out on and listen to the sounds of the Marigny. We were so close to the quarter and walked there and back easily. Also just far enough away to not be bothered by any late-night noises. The self check-in and check-out is delightful and the ambiance of the Maison is relaxed and comforting. The kitchen downstairs and open living room shared space is a lovely touch.

The plumbing is old doesn't have high pressure and makes some weird noises. The shower takes a while to get hot sometimes. There was a super loud trash pick-up at like 10 pm that was rather jarring to wake up to but I assume most people won't even be in their rooms at that time.

Beautiful old New Orleans building - loved its atmosphere and charm! Great outdoor seating area and feeling of calm (although you can't use patio/front porch tables/chairs for a 9am breakfast as the cleaners have hosed it down and soaking wet). 10 min walk to the French Quarter and 5 min walk to Frenchmen Street. Very quiet and quaint neighborhood - I felt very safe. Great proximity to everything yet was away from the noise - calm and quiet!

Wasn't sure if we had free access to kitchen facilities or what rooms were off limits / if I could turn off common area bright lights at night (but I did not ask either - Brittany was very responsive).

Though a little worn from time and humidity, The Mansion on Royal represents exactly what you expect to find in New Orleans. Eclectic with a bit of overdone French deco (I mean that in the best way! haha)

Because of age and the climate, the wallpaper was peeling, and nature occasionally made its way inside (a moth gave me a jump scare, haha), but it was not too much to detract from the stay. The water pressure was a little weak.

Beautiful, and wonderfully relaxing! Lovely courtyard in the back. Rocking chairs in the front on both main floor and second floor/porch. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops, Frenchmen St., Jackson Square, and more. Rooms are decorated beautifully. Love the high ceilings, and tall doors and windows. Microwave and refrigerator in the rooms. Full kitchen accessible on first floor for residents.

The first year was on the main floor, and was perfect. The second year we were upstairs, which was fine, and lovely. Only negative was a very, very small shower, and we are, by no means, large people. Our first year the shower was fine; a typical stand alone shower.
