The location was great! The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a young black employee that was more than willing to help us carry my husband’s oxygen tanks up and down the steps.

There is no elevator. My husband has COPD and damaged lungs from a house fire. This is an older hotel in OC and the steps were numerous and steep. Apparently, there were no ground floor rooms available. Next time I will specify we need a room on the ground floor.

Stay here every year. Great place

The price and location were great. It was about a block from the Boardwalk and within easy distance of plenty of restaurants and things to do. Staff was helpful and it was nice to get breakfast. The room was clean and all appliances worked well.

The indoor pool was NOT heated. It was just too cold to use. There was also no changing facility in the pool room, which would be fine in summer, but having to change in your room and then hoof it around outside down 2 flights of stairs and across the parking lot in a bathing suit in December wasn't too fun.

This is a delightful little Inn located perfectly, just off of the beach but close to the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk. It's conveniently located to many restaurants and shops and easy to drive to other places from here. Fantastic stay. Room was super cold (bonus) and we loved our Ocean Peak Glimpse room!

The only thing that I can even remotely think of as negative for this place is: coffee in the morning was empty... perhaps get a larger carafe for brewing AND additional parking spots are not available BUT there is plenty of free street parking!

The location is awesome! If you stay in the old building, you can park right in front of your door. I really enjoy staying here because the price is right and you can walk to the boardwalk in one minute. It is a friendly and happy place.

It’s a classic beach motel. The rooms are basic and small, even in the new building. The new building has many steps which might not suit some people. This is a place to stay when you are going to be gone most of the day on the beach or boardwalk.

Location was perfect, 2 minute walk to the boardwalk and beach. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The room was small but nicely remodeled. The dual heat/ac unit warmed the room quickly. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They served a grab and go breakfast with it being the off season. There was a small 3ft indoor pool.

Only con I had was the bathroom had no counter space for your toothbrush and other toiletries. Plus an extra hook or two to hang towels and wet bathing suits would be great (this is an issue in almost all hotels/motels)

Great location to beach, one block, easy walk 5 minutes! Boardwalk is 5 minute walk also! very close to beach and boardwalk. This is a great location close to everything. The room was basic and small but had everything you needed as you are only in the room to sleep, The room was very clean, I was impressed with the cleanliness at Beach Bum Inn. The Staff was very friendly and easy check in! We were allowed to park our car their until check in as we arrived early that day so headed to beach until we came back to finish check in, very accommodating!

The shower water did run light and slow when a lot of people showered at the same time at Beach Bum Inn. Didn't like that the drain ran slow and clogged. Wish the bathroom was a little bit bigger or had an area or shelving to store your clothes. Don't recommend the top floor as it has very steep steps to climb for someone with Arthritis, but I should have asked or called in advance for bottom floor. The parking is very tight so drive a compact car if you can.

I’ve stayed there before and I love it. Smaller cozy rooms are just what I like.

I don’t have any complaints with the over all stay I’m just curious as to why I had to pay a deposit for the rooms and I booked the rooms with booking.com and have never paid a fee to stay. It’s not that upsetting. I know I’m gonna get my money back, but it just took me off guard.

The price, I stayed here in 2022 and returned in 2024 and the cost doubled in price, I am aware everything went up but that seemed really expensive for just a hotel room, I was also told when I checked out in 2022 next time he would give me 15% off so when I booked it 2 years later I was told they don’t do that anymore they only give a 5% discount.

The hotel is extremely conveniently located, with the boardwalk and beach just a minute or two away by foot, the inlet within 10 minutes walk, and many restaurants, shops, and bars a stone's throw away. Arcades and other fun activities were very close as well. We enjoyed the complimentary grab-and-go breakfast and coffee every morning, which saved us money over the course of our trip. The rate for 2 days and 3 nights was incredibly fair, especially considering how clean our room and the facilities were and how expensive other close-by locations were in comparison. The staff were helpful, friendly, and informative. I will definitely be booking here again!

The only minor issue during our stay was that the walls are very thin, so you can hear people coming and going outside your room, as well as whatever is going on above you. I didn't mind so much, but my partner was a little perturbed.
