We stayed in the Beach Cottage. The private hot tub made it worth the stay. Bed was very comfortable, and the decor was very homey. The breakfast was delicious. Owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpful-- they helped me book a last minute in-room couple's massage that was nothing short of miraculous. The grounds were small - like a double backyard - but while there was traffic on the other side of the fence, it was like being in a separate little world-- like stepping into a romantic Victorian hideaway with a little magic in the air. I have a rather bad chronic pain condition that's been impossible to treat lately. After two days in the hot tub and the 60-minute massage, I didn't need any of my pain medications for almost a week. (This was huge.) We definitely recommend this B&B to any couple looking for a reset. We will definitely be back. :-)

The only drawback was that the Beach Cottage had a very strong, very bad odor. It reminded me of stepping into my great-grandma's house right before she passed. It smelled like a combo of stale air, mildew, mold, and old, overcooked grandma food. It was pervasive and kind of made our clothes smell bad, but I bought some Glade plug-ins and used some disinfecting Lysol air freshener I found in the laundry room that kept the smell under control. Other suggestion- not a complaint - would be to leave out little dosing cups of chlorine/chemicals to add in after an evening in the hot tub to maintain water levels. (I've stayed at other B&Bs that did that and it especially helps on multiple night stays.)

Newish owner was super friendly upon arrival! We stayed for our anniversary and as an independence area local I've driven past it all the time decided to stay! Charming, absolutely charming. The beach cottage was clean, comfortable, the cottage has its own private hot tub completely private even from surrounding neighbors! Kitchen was not only stocked with dishes and pans but coffee, tea, liquid creamers, but the spices were stocked! Did not need to buy those small things like spices we forget when on holiday! Breakfast was amazing and cooked at the time we sat down, not buffet style! Full two course style breakfast not those horrible continental. Saturday was my partners favorite from scratch made biscuits and from scratch made gravy with an egg and a chicken sausage link after the first course of honey vanilla yogurt topped with home made plum jam and almond slices! Sunday was strawberry and cream filled French toast made with French bread.. and sausage. Served after the first coarse of a Waldorf salad! Coffee, tea, juice and water were available. And the beds.. when you stay on a bed that is better than at home... just amazing service, charming room.. and plenty of soft plush towels... a perfect romantic get away!!! The host is exactly the kind of inn keeper you find joy in visiting again

The only reason location is like 4 * out of 5 was its spring we had windows open and it was very close to a busy intersection and near a firehouse.. when windows are closed though the emergency vehicles and traffic is a lot more muffled and its quiet! But it is very close to a quiktrip and a grocery store! Close to independence Square and other historic travel spots!

Loved the cottage with separate living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom. Loved the fireplace, the breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. Very helpful and answered all our questions and gave us advice of other places nearby.

We live in the country and were not use to all the traffic at night. You can hear the trains go by all times of the day. Also since you are in the city the emergency vehicle sirens we noticed our first night.

Beautiful B&B, really gorgeous bathroom with two sinks, good, freshly made breakfast, friendly staff.

The bed was a not real comfortable…. a little too soft and “rolly”, and there was a light in the hallway outside our door that kept flashing around the door edges that was disturbing (I mentioned it to the staff in email).

It was a pleasant relaxing stay. The owners were friendly and courteous. We travel a great deal, and have stayed at many hotels, which have all been pleasant but there was a peace here, a care for the guests that is above that of a hotel, or other stays. We will recommend them, and look forward to our next stay. May God bless your stay there

Breakfast was delicious and the service was very friendly and professional. The cottage was stocked with all the essentials They were very prompt in fixing the hot water heater in our cottage as well. Such a beautiful place. The hot tub was a perfect addition.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

I really liked the owners and the available amenities on the property. The breakfast was good and the timing allowed us to sleep in and not have to get up too early to grab breakfast. I really liked the way the staff served the meal and their attentiveness to the comfort of the guest.

There wasn't anything that I didn't particularly like. This is minor but I would have preferred firmer bed pillows and cotton sheets vs the sateen sheets (They would slip a bit when you moved). Also, the weekend street noise was bit loud at night.

We had a great stay and enjoyed the hot tub! Welcoming staff and beautiful home. Staying in this B&B was a great place to say we've had the experience.

We misunderstood check-in time; we checked-in before dinner as we thought we had to check in by 5pm. This added a lot of driving to get out of KC to B&B, then back in to town for dinner, then finally back to the B&B. Otherwise our stay was lovely.

The breakfast was absolutely excellent. The service was wonderful and the decor was delightful. I so love hearing the history of the house and the town. Hope we can return soon and would highly recommend Silver Heart Inn.

Can't think of anything that could have been improved on. We had our own parking space and all the amenities of home.

Excellent breakfast!The house was very clean and beautiful and our room so comfortable. The location was great to all attractions in the area. The greatest thing were our hosts. Amy and Charles. They couldn’t have been any more courteous, friendly and helpful. We were treated like long time friends.

There was nothing that we didn’t like.
