Staggeringly beautiful property, exquisitely restored with delightful staff who really want you to have a lovely time. Fantastic location, an easy walk through the very safe park to the high street, or walk along the main road if you prefer. There is everything you need to hand.
If you’ve an over active imagination and you like large, bustling chain hotels, the. This quiet, sedate and historic home won’t be for you. It has sweeping mahogany staircases and its right out of central casting. Halloween was a great season to be there. We loved it!

The location is very convenient to SPAC and the track. You can walk into town, which is why we selected this location. Breakfast was delicious. You select from a menu the day before, which was a nice touch. Our bathroom was lovely and almost as large as our Amelia room. There is plenty of outside and inside space to enjoy. The refrigerator in the room was a plus, as was the ice machine, located downstairs. The mansion is extremely quiet and very clean, which we appreciated.
It would have been nice to have breakfast earlier. The first seating is at 8:30; we would have preferred it an hour earlier. Our bed was softer than we are used to, but if you like your mattress that way, then it was fine. The TV left a lot to be desired. We could not get the channels we are used to viewing, but then again, we did not come to watch TV. The mansion is being painted, which is a major job. We had a view of the crane, which was not scenic or private. The good news is this mansion is being well-maintained.

This property is magic for anyone who loves mansions and ever wanted to feel like they were living in old-school luxury. Do you like old novels, historical fiction, romantic turrets and staircases? you will fall in love with this place. Handsomely appointed with historical write-ups of the history of the family spread all over the mansion, both we (a couple) and our daughter and friend (16+) really loved the rooms. Check in was easy though we had a moment of panic when the door wasn't opened right away and the phone call went to voicemail (the keeper had many steps to climb to get to us, turns out). The beds are soft and smooshy (so if you like hard beds, maybe bring something) and we didn't run the AC though our room was quite warm (you might wish to) - the bath products are luxury and plentiful towels. The showers and bathrooms are lovely and water pressure is good. In general it felt so nice to have actual SPACE in a bedroom!! The common rooms are beautiful and guests are welcome to play the piano in the music room. The breakfast layout is spectacular - with real china and fancy silver and crystal glassware. NOTE that you have to leave your breakfast choices the night before and if you are leaving the inn and might be coming back late be SURE to do it before you go because they can't take your order in the morning. They have a minimal staff (who are very nice) and a limited breakfast which is very satisfying though quite basic, but it is well worth enjoying for the room experience alone!! Don't miss the hot croissants. (And we had eggs benedict and switched the ham for spinach, so they do make concessions to diet) -- But it's all about the HOUSE. This elegant historic mansion is just amazing and will start great conversations from the first second you drive up into the private driveway.
People who have trouble with stairs might not have it easy (I do not think there is an elevator and the staircase is quite long) -- but the girls thought that ascending and descending the sweeping staircase was one of the best parts of the stay. The beds are showing some age, but it wasn't bad. Otherwise it's a great place. I guess having coffee always available instead of having to order it in the morning would be nice--and having no whole milk option for the tea was slightly disappointing. But it does seem like there is limited refrigeration in the kitchen so maybe that is why they do it that way. And they're very nice. And honestly? There are mini refrigerators in the room, if it's that important to you , bring your own.

The Inn was very close to the downtown business area, a short five minute walk away. The building restoration was quite well done, and the woodwork was exceptional. The rooms were big and comfortable, and very clean. Adequate on-site parking and lovely grounds surround the building.

Both excellent
There was no elevator or pool which must have been mentioned. The McKinley was on the top floor so would prefer bottom floor with no elevator. The McKinley had an insecure narrow sliding door vs all others. Would not rent again.

Historic home continuously going though repairs and upgrades, but the interior is fabulously appointed and exquisitely maintained. Breakfast is ordered the night before with several choices and served hot almost immediately upon arrival. To sum it up, you will experience a wonderful stay in a beautifully appointed bed and breakfast.
There was absolutely nothing. not to like. Just remember, this property is a B&B and not a hotel.

Lovely night stay at this interesting giant victorian mansion. Quirky and quaint and in a very good way. Every room is unique and the breakfast was excellent. Innkeepers and staff very attentive. Unique. Close to the main drag but more quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

THE DECOR OF THE HOUSE, THE BEAUTIFUL SUNDECKS, FOOD WAS GREAT, CARETAKER AND INNKEEPER WERE LOVELY. THE LOCATION OF THE HOUSE IN THE CITY WAS PERFECT - WE ACTUALLY WALKED TO MOST OF OUR ACTIVITIES. IT IS A LOVELY LOVELY PLACE TO STAY WITH INCREDIBLE HISTORY. WE LOVED ALL OF THE MEMORABILIA AND ART WORK.
The carpet in the Grant room needs to be stretched - I tripped over it a few times. Could use a few different types of pillows but I did not ask - they may have had a variety.

Incredible Victorian mansion with tons of charm. Beautiful and useful public rooms and verandas. So much better than any commercial hotel. Location is on the other side of a small park from the central shopping and restaurant district. Very quiet and relaxing. No noise from late night revelers.

truly a unique inn - an architectural gem in one of the nicest ‘weekend getaway’ towns in the region. It is stunning inside & out (including the fabulous bedrooms and beautifully restored common rooms), and so well located to explore Saratoga Springs (a new favourite for me). The staff are friendly and kind, offering a tour on arrival and helpful with all the details.
No negatives on this stay - it is highly recommended. I do not disagree with other reviews that the inn could make breakfast and some amenities a bit more sumptuous to complete the experience, but really, everything was good.
