Room had a great view and the beach is beautiful. Very family friendly. Resort was quiet. Pool wasn’t crowded and beach wasn’t crowded. Parking was no hassle. We were able to sleep 5 people but it was tight. The staff was helpful and friendly and let us change out our wet bath towels for new ones whenever we wanted.

Suit said it was a double queen that would sleep 6. But the beds were more like full size rather than queen. The third bed was a pull out sofa but the room was so small and filled with furniture that it was difficult to open the bed and then to maneuver once it was open. The room was outfitted for one person. There wasn’t enough towels, shampoo, toilet paper and they need to hang more hooks or towel racks so you can hang your towel, your bathing suit and so on—this is a beach after all. Dishes in the kitchen were dirty so I had to wash them before using them. Indoor pool was closed—would have been nice on the rainy days. Restaurant was closed the whole time we were there. The room must have been recently updated but some repairs to the ceiling and walls were poorly done.

Great weekend family getaway! Loved the view from the living area and balcony, the marsh view from the bedroom, and the easy access to the beach. Also loved the private location on the end of the beach, walking to the sandbar island at low tide, the aqua blue water, beautiful shells, clean pools…all of it! The hotel is older, not extravagant, could use some upgrades for sure…but well-loved and really all you need. The 2 adjoining bathrooms were a nice surprise and the kitchen and living area were roomy enough for my family with teens to enjoy our space. A broom would’ve been nice…as the sand gets everywhere, but that’s my OCD. We are at the beach, after all. Would’ve loved to have stayed longer. The staff was wonderful! We’ll definitely be back!

I loved the view. I loved sleeping on the fold out couch simply just to open the curtains and wake up to the sun and the amazing view. I love the open concept. The staff was very nice and accomodating. Any need we had they met and did so promptly. I have stayed several times and have already booked another trip!!

I didnt like the fact that the bar is not open on Sunday. Also having a hot tub on the inside as well as the ouside would be nice. Also the hottub on the outside has no jets. Still a wonderful view!

We never get tired of this view. Love watching the pelicans fly by. We also love staying here because you have a kitchen and a separate bedroom with 2 bathrooms which is a bonus. All suites have ocean views and a balcony to enjoy this view.

The restaurant was closed the entire time we were there (Sunday afternoon to Tuesday) so we didn't get to enjoy this. Each suite is very different (we have stayed in 3 different suites). Some are more updated than others and the last one we stayed at was missing essential things in the kitchen (only 1 coffee mug and 1 spoon) but it did have a wine opener which was nice.

Coffee maker in room didn’t work, and there was not a coffee bar so we had to pay for coffee. Apparently after breakfast hours, the coffee bar is available. That’s frustrating. The water in the rooms stunk like sulfur. It was at first nauseating. I did get used to it, but I had to go out for bottled water. Pillows-nice that there were three on each bed. But my roommate had a neck ache in the morning. I was fine.

Loved the ocean front view from our balcony and location was somewhat secluded due to being located at the end of the beach/road. Loved seeing the sun rise on the ocean and set over the intercoastal waterway - beautiful.

The room could have been a little cleaner. There was sand on the floor, kitchen utensils were not clean, coffee table was not clean. Explained to front desk and they immediately had housekeeping take care of it.

Wrightsville Beach first time visiting with Family! Our stay was EXCEPTIONAL and the view from our room was Gorgeous! We had a relaxing and wonderful time! Vacations are better at the beach(: The Cruz Family will return!

We Preferred to have extra toiletry items, towels, and blankets, otherwise everything else was fabulous! Extra Luggage buggies to avoid waiting times for checkout! Also, request updating parking passes to 3 max per family for families traveling from different states! Thank you, Cruz Family!

Love that it is oceanfront! Gaza great wide and clean beach.

We wanted to rent chairs and umbrella on our arrival ( around 3 pm). However we were told they were out of chairs and umbrellas. I feel there should be a big enough supply to accommodate requests. I also noted the chair guys took down the umbrellas at 4 pm, instead of 5 pm. We asked if we could have one of the vacated umbrella and chairs as it was very hot and were told the existing customers had reserved them till 5 pm.

Loved the ocean front view. The view from our balcony was spectacular!!

The pull out sofa bed was uncomfortable. The hot tub hasn't been repaired. We stayed there 2 years ago and the hot tub jets didn't work then. Some of the lights in our room didn't work. It was clean. And they provided us with whatever we needed -- towels, toiletries, etc. The staff was great!!

We had an amazing time on vacation this year. The room at Shell Island Resort was awesome. Very very clean room, wonderful view of the ocean and not crowded at all. It was also so quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

The only downside to the 7 days we stayed was the beds. They were so hard. That my husband and I slept on the sofa bed the whole time. We tried to sleep in the bed but when we woke the next morning our backs were killing us. If they could change the bed situation. This place would be 100% the best resort we have ever stayed in.
