Clean spacious room. We paid for our own bathroom as most of the facilities are shared. The hotel is ideally situated right in the middle of the town so near everything you need. The price we paid was very reasonable for location. Spotlessly clean and helpful staff. Coffee, hot chocolate and tea are provided in reception in the morning and there is a kitchen for everyone to use if so required.

I can’t really fault the place. Shame it wasn’t a higher star because it deserves it, I think this is because there are a lot of rooms with shared faculties, no restaurant etc . I suppose it couldn’t be higher. I’m not sure if there is a lift for elderly/ disabled guests as the hotel is on the first floor, I didn’t find a lift but I’d check before I booked if a lift is needed.

We loved how close this hotel was to everything as well as the full kitchen and camaraderie with other guests...a great blend of a hostel and hotel aesthetic..and the record check out feature was super cool...even though we didn't end up using it....we did spring for the on suite bathroom and were on a side of the building facing the Columbia River....offering a truly fantastic breeze...

Everything for us was fantastic, but some people may find the street parking a little stressful and the street noise a bit much, but to be honest, this is what earplugs were made for...

Very nice hotel and guest room. Hotel/guest rooms were very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. They could answer all questions and make good restaurant recommendations. The location of the hotel is excellent. It's in the middle of the town. The town is also very nice. Many things to look at, good restaurants, nice morning market, friendly locals/tourists. I felt happy being in the hotel and in the town. Oh, they have old vinyl records, which a guest can borrow to play in the guest room. They also provide a vinyl record player. And I like some of the bands they offer (classic rock).

There was no bathroom in the guest room. We had to share with others in the hotel. This was as expected but I still would have prefer my own bathroom.

Good location, spacious room and staff was very helpful and pleasant.

There are 3 flights of stairs to go up with no elevator, leaking soap in shower could cause slip and fall situation (made us wonder when it was last cleaned), pocket door to bathroom was off its rail and parking is on the street on a first come first serve basis. We didn’t feel totally comfortable having a car load (5 week road trip) left on the street but didn’t want to carry it all up 3 flights of stairs. Thin walls or windows - I heard the person next door snoring all night!

The Notblad is such a groovy place….. the staff is the friendliest ever! The rooms are cool and if you get one that shares a bathroom or shower room don’t let that scare or detour you as there are several on site …. I never had to wait for a bathroom or shower once:) it’s actually kinda a cool experience! The location is also amazing centered right basically down town…. We parked our car on Friday night and didn’t move it till we left Sunday afternoon…. Almost everything is within walking distance and if it’s a bit further jump on the trolley on the river front!

Not a thing. This place rocks! They even have record players and iPads you can check out to take to your room. And quite a record collection you can borrow!

For this location being a “hostel,” we were very impressed. While the toilets and showers were communal, you could lock them since they were single occupancy — not to mention that they were very clean. The bed sheets were so soft that we left asking: “How do you wash these?!” The rooms are spacious and comfortable; everything we needed from a fan to a personal sink and classy robes (!) were provided. The location was also perfect, walking distance from many restaurants, bars and attractions. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful location, super clean rooms and bathrooms, and the staff were friendly! We just stayed for a night but we’ll definitely be back. The shared bathroom situation was never an issue even with all the rooms being booked up while we were there. I loved the modern design mixed with keeping the building’s historic charm!

We stayed during an unseasonably hot day so the building and room did get pretty warm since there’s no AC but the large windows allowed the rooms to cool off a lot at night. Just something to keep in mind!

I love the Norblad Hotel. It's got a cozy ambiance in the centre of Astoria: you can walk to everything! For this trip I stayed in the King Suite, and it has all the comforts you'd expect, with a corner view of the city: huge windows! The private bathroom is a huge perk, with a very nice shower and sink. There was a little fridge in the suite, and we borrowed a record player for the weekend from the front desk. I highly recommend this to everyone!

The check-in experience was quick and informative, I liked the room I was in and the bed was very comfortable. It is in a great location right in downtown Astoria and the most affordable place to stay for that night. The whole place was very clean along with the room being very clean.

There wasn't any kind of food offered. A vending machine would have been nice. They did offer coffee and tea which was the least that could be offered.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Took the time to talk us through many different recommendations for things to do nearby, and taught us all about Astoria. We had a great time at the brewery they recommended. Also, though small, the room was comfortable and warm.

Quite minimal in terms of facilities, but you are more or less getting what you paid for. In some ways feels like it's not quite a hotel, but then it's not quite a hostel either.
