The check in was excellent. The woman who checked us in was outstanding. We got a check in call prior to the trip.asking about any needs (we had none). This spot is perfect. Short walk to town and beach. Steps from the much pricier waterfront hotels.The facility is clean and comfy, the grounds are great outdoor seating and grill. This property is a tiny bit outdated (not enough outlets, no usbs, super minor) but really makes up for it with comfy bed, sofa large in room fridge, microwave, cookies, coffee and great service. I highly recommend!!!

A tiny bit outdated asthetic but overall does not impact rating or experience

We absolutely love the location -just on the edge of town, across the creek. It was very quiet with plenty of parking around the units and side gravel parking lot. All the staff we met were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The grounds are nicely maintained with the koi pond providing a little quiet place to reset and relax in the evening.. There isnt any AC (at least, not in our room), but there was a large box fan for the rare day when temps get high enough to be a bit uncomfortable in the room. Its a great place for someone who enjoys walking and doesn’t mind a 5 - 10 minute stroll to the main beach or downtown area instead of fighting traffic and challenges in finding parking.

This is definitely an older property, with small but noticeable maintenance issues. Dings, bangs, scrapes, peeling paint, and a little dry rot were evident but not obtrusive on walls, stairs and entry places. The bed was a bit squeaky and the bed “Headboard” was not firmly attached so it tended to bang the wall on any real movement. The room was a bit small, so the queen bed took up the room and made it a bit tight to pass between the end of the bed and the chairs. Objectively - comparable to a Motel 6 but subjectively, it is so very quaint and cozy that it begs us to return.

We have stayed here a number of times. This is a charming, historic Inn, in a great location. The site dates back to when Lewis and Clark camped on or near the site at Ecola Creek. The rooms have been updated and are comfortable. It is a pleasant place to stay. The grounds are very nice. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean, good shower.

Room #20 upper, clean but there were carpet stains that should have been cleaned. Needs paint touch up inside and out. Sliding glass door sill gritty and needs cleaning to operate more smoothly. Wall mounted fan-operated electric heater in bathroom was very rusty and needs paint or replacement. TV had ample programming but was confusing to operate so didn't bother with it. There is some noise transfer between rooms adjacent and below. In summary, this charming Inn is looking tired and needs maintenance investment in the rooms, buildings and grounds.

The beds were very comfortable. Not too firm. The tv offered several streaming services to choose from for a movie at night. The hotel was close to town and the beach. The grounds were pretty with lots of flowers and a koi pond.

Needed more plugs in the room with easier access than behind nightstands. Made charging phones at night inconvenient. Shower heads were a bit short for taller people. The wifi was a bit spotty and cut out on occasion.

the room was bright, sun filled, newly renovated, exceptionally clean. A new sofa, a roku tv, the bed was king size and the sheets were high quality with a fluffy comforter, like sleeping in a warm cloud. This is a very old Inn but absolutely NO BAD SMELLS. My own balcony with seating, looking out to a beach. My balcony looked over a sweet garden area with 2 goldfish ponds and a wood deck and barbecue space for guests. Families would gather there.

the provider wifi is very spotty, even the tv had trouble loading. My tablet and phone did just fine with their wifi.

The room felt like it was living in a house. Had everything we needed.

Place a towel rack next to the sink in the bathroom. Fix the bedroom door so that it doesn't close instead of using a door stop. The gas fireplace was great, but it didn't put off much heat, the wall heater was running constantly to keep the room warm. Most importantly, put a outdoor light next to the door, trying to find the keyhole in the door lock when it was dark was annoying.

A really friendly welcome to a cosy little place comprising a number of adjoined cabins. Fantastic location being adjacent the creek and wonderful dunes with a magnificent beach. And just a few minutes walk from such a charming town centre which appeals to, but is not overrun by tourists. Walking back from a restaurant last night at dusk we crossed the local soccer pitch and startled a nervous herd (about 10 ) of Elk, who simply stood up, nervously watched us walk through their midst and then laid down again. We are driving from San Francisco to Vancouver and being some 90% of the way up the coast, this is our favourite spot so far and Ecola Lodge has been our best value for money too !

Wooden wall/ floors transmit sound and we could hear people moving around upstairs

We fell in love with this place! The historic building has such character, and really large rooms. The location is fantastic. The landscaping and outdoor common use area is very well-maintained. And there are fresh chocolate chip cookies in the office! 

We didn’t mind the older building. If others are looking for luxury, then they might be disappointed. 

Everything in the room was very comfortable, from the bed, living room and bathroom. It was a nice walk to beach and town, everything was in walking distance, Great town to visit. The surrounding grounds, sittings areas and pond where clean and very well done.

Really for the price, location and amenities we couldn’t have been so fortunate. The town was busy so to have this location, the car was parked at hotel and walked not worrying about having to drive anywhere. So for all that there wasn’t anything to dislike.

I loved my room so much that it was the absolute perfect day outside, and I still didn’t want to leave the room. It took me three hours after being inside, to go visit the beach which was only a seven minute walk away.

This was definitely not The establishments fault, but nearby someone got into an accident and it affected the power flow in the area, so there was no Wi-Fi during my entire stay. The power went out once because of the same incident. Again this was not the fault of a the lodge. Otherwise it was pretty lovely.
