We were in town for the fanboy expo and it was literally right across the street so couldn’t have been anymore convenient! Waking distance to restaurants Room service was available Beds weren’t too bad

Took a $400 hold at check in that I wasn’t warned about before booking. It still reflected on my bank account so I had to make some adjustments. We ended up using it anyways but it would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. Restaurant was way overpriced and not that great. We ordered a large charcuterie board and instead of being charged $28 we were charged $42. They literally gave us baked buttered saltine crackers and the meat was terrible.

The room and bathroom were spacious, loved the mirrors. Also liked the location. And they have a shuttle service that will take you within 3 miles of the hotel. It is first come, first served though, so if it was a busy day, one could wait awhile. The staff that drove us were very nice.

We stayed for 3 nights and the room was not changed /cleaned at all. When service came by we asked them to come in another 30 min, and they never did. We ran out of clean towels and toilet paper. We also asked for a pair of bathroom slippers and they could not provide some. (one pair was available in the room, but the room was for 2 people).

The property is conveniently located to downtown Knoxville, and the staff were phenomenal! We were able to check in an hour early with no hiccups, and the valet gentlemen were kind and quick. The bed was hands down the most comfortable bed I’ve ever laid in, and the rooms were extremely clean- we even had a direct view of the Sunsphere!

The only complaint is that the room was too hot and didn’t seem to cool down even with the fan on and set to 66°F. Will definitely bring my own fan next time!

Nicest physical room I've ever stayed in in a hotel. The suite was a true suite, two complete rooms connected by a hall with a bathroom. Beautiful city view from extensive wall of windows. Just like home as far as comfort. A little more expensive than the others, but oh so worth it. If you want to splurge and do something special for yourself, spend a night at this place. The employees were all great, especially the female valet when we dropped the car off.

Nothing.

We were there for a Dance convention in the Knoxville Convention Center was right across the street. The facilities were clean and the room was spacious. The drawing room had a good varuety of breakfast options. There is a coffee shop inside, where they have fruit amd apple juice as well. The hotel is attached to the Marriott. I liked the toilet area being separated off with a door. The room has a thermostat and a fridge. A nice spacious closet to hang your clothes or to out your bags in. Front desk was polite and attentive. They offer a free shuttle service if you need to get somewhere. It's not an actual shuttle but a big SUV. There is also a free trolley that goes around as well. There is a Subway in the Market Square which is a really cute area with shops and dining and there is also a Wendy's and McDonald's and a Pizza Hut and a Bojangle, probably 4 minutes away driving wise...just over the bridge/water.

The only thing I didn't like there is no actual parking garage.. you are pretty much forced to valet and I believe they just put your cars in the Marriott parking garage. Also there isn't much food walking distance..maybe three or four blocks but it's best to just get in your car and drive to the areas...

Room was very spacious with large windows. The location is perfectly situated been the shops and restaurants of Market Square/Gay St. and the Tennessee campus. Gym is small but had everything you might need - a few treadmills, spin bikes, yoga mats, free weights and a few machines. The staff were all super friendly and really helpful. I had two separate reservations (1 night followed by 2 nights) and they ensured that I could stay in the same room while keeping the receipts/payments separated. I did not use the car service, but that is a nice perk when the weather is not cooperating. Everything was very clean.

My room was right near the ice machine and noise came through noticeably from the hallway. This is not an issue for me but those who are sensitive to noise may want to request a specific room location.

We have loved the Tennessean- the location is great. We love the restaurant and bar, etc.

Not a huge problem - the linens are not as luxurious as one expects at a luxury property. Also - the bed didn’t seem to changed while we were there for 5 nights. It wasn’t made as super crisp — so not huge issue as I said - but for a luxury property, it just seemed like one thing that can be easily enhanced/fixed.

The Tennessean is a beautiful hotel near downtown Knoxville. My daughter is a student at UTK and it was walking distance from her dorm but we had a car so used that most of the time. They do charge for parking and only have valet parking. I don't mind paying for parking but would prefer to come and go as we please. The hotel has a very pretty/lobby and restaurant area that appeared to be attached to the Marriot next door. I had a king room. It was very nice with huge windows that looked out to the park. Bed was comfy and it had black out curtains. We were able to walk to Market Square about 4 or 5 blocks up the street. Next time I may trying staying right down town.

No bathtub in the bathroom and no pool.

We has a very nice room with huge bathroom and giant walk-in shower with bench seat. I love that the toilet had a separate little room with solid door that closed. I appreciate the low-key night lights in the bathroom and toilet room! Also, I love the automatic light that turns on when you open the cabinet that houses the mini fridge and extra blanket, iron, etc. The staff are outstanding! wonderful front desk staff and coffee shop! I got a tasty Mocha there. The shuttle bus drivers to and from our campus tour drop off were excellent. We asked questions about the city and campus. The engineering student who works as a shuttle driver was very nice and we enjoyed talking to him.

The bathroom door leading to the bedroom is a sliding barn door that has nearly a 2” gap that stays open. Ridiculous! It lets light and noise into the bedroom. If you are trying to get ready early while someone else is attempting to sleep in, that bathroom door gap is a problem. Put in regular doors - not the modern farmhouse trendy useless barn door attempt at “fashion.” The rest of the room is more modern/classic and doesn’t match that style anyway. While I appreciate the Keurig coffee maker and setup, you need to place some sterile, wrapped, take-out coffee cups and lids. Same with bathroom cups. I know you’re trying to be fancy with mugs and glass cups, but I don’t trust they’re truly clean and I wanted take out coffee to leave with.

Rooms were immaculate and staff was wonderful. We particularly loved the older man who worked the desk. I wish I would’ve gotten his name. He was so sweet and personable. He talked to my children when we checked in, remembered them when we checked out, and gave them hot chocolate truffles. He was such a warm welcome and fantastic staff member. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the downtown area.
