From the outside, the hotel doesn't look like much, but when you walk in you see where they invested in updating and modernizing it. The hotel has a vintage ski resort feel. Very tastefully decorated and fun. The rooms are very clean and nice. We were fortunate to have a King suite, but being on the 1st floor meant not much natural light, but aside from that....no complaints.

Breakfast could have been replenished a little more quickly. When we went, almost all trays were empty...nonetheless, once they were refilled, it was good enough to get your day started. Not a deal breaker by any means!

Staff was incredibly friendly and the location was walking distance to the village and restaurants. Our room was the largest they offer (3 bedrooms) it had a working gas fireplace and just enough furniture so it wasn't over crowded. The bathroom had a soaking tub and shower and the towels were large and absorbent. Robes and toiletries (body wash, shampoo and conditioner in addition to packets of bath salts) were provided.

The loft bedroom of suite got very warm and a second sink somewhere would be great. Maybe a snow shovel could be left inside the building doors so those who rise early can shovel a path to their vehicle or to the plowed driveway.

The main lodge was lovely. It was decorated nicely, comfortable and had fun games. We enjoyed hanging out there. The free breakfast was delicious too. The cottage was cute. The staff was friendly.

We were booked in a room that was below a large party who was up past 1:00 am and they were constantly moving around and making lots of noise. We have two young kids so it was quite disruptive for sleep. We had issues with the hot water in the shower but someone was able to resolve it quickly. The shower tiles were dirty - black grout. The room needs to be updated a bit. The room was very cold. There was a terrible draft at the main door. We had the heat up high but it was still cold.

Field Guide Lodge was really nicely decorated, the rooms were big and the wall paper cute. The common space I could have hung out in all day long. When we first went to our room, I loved it, too, with the cute wallpaper.

The only thing was that when you sat on the bed (facing the tv and away from the wallpaper), it lost its cuteness as there was no decor on the part we were facing. Granted I wasn't in there too long, but it felt that it just need a little something on the other wall near the tv. Just a thought! As for breakfast, the pastry was good, but the overnight oats were cold which made them hard to eat. Would have loved just a hard boiled egg too - something a bit more plain for those of us with eating allergies/issues :) Would still go back, though as these two things weren't that big of a deal!

I was worried after reading some of the reviews but we really enjoyed our stay overall. We stayed in a King room in the main lodge and found it comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly in person and also responsive via text. The check-in process was smooth and the common spaces, indoors and outside, were very nice. Breakfast was limited but varied day to day and was generally tasty. The location was perfect for us.

As other reviews have stated, the doors allow a lot of sound through so it’s easy to hear other guests when they are in the hallway. Also, in our room, the shower did not have proper drainage so the water pooled. Lastly, would not recommend the main lodge for folks with limited mobility (perhaps the newer building is more accessible).

Greeted by the cheeriest helpful staff ever. Great spa tub, double-wide bathroom sink, glass shower door. Apple TV in addition to cable selections. Breakfast from 8-10am. Self-serve with fresh baked muffins, fruit, muffin-pan omelet, etc. Everything I needed to start my day. Also, walk right across the street to "The Bench" restaurant or Thai food. I chose the bench for a steak dinner and great root beer.

Travelled with spouse and two teens. The three bedroom suite was as spacious and attractive as it was pictured. The bathroom was a nice size with a tub and shower and a view of the tree tops. We went in May and used the gas fireplace, which was a treat. Our windows did have screens so we could sleep with them open. We all really liked the continental style breakfasts which were creative, healthy and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. Easy walking and biking access to Stowe. Lots of good restaurants in the vicinity.

Consider getting rid of disposable plastic water bottles in rooms and just have a couple of filling stations. For people who might not have their own reusable bottle, maybe you could throw in a couple with the room with your logo (a nice souvenir and would be savings in the long run (money and environment).

Lovely decor, nice lobby, great location. Only place to unpack are cubbies under bed, no full length mirror, room had 4 windows which normally would be nice but it was grounds level and everyone who walked by could see everything in your room so shades had to be drawn all day. Housekeeping not once in 4 day stay gave clean towels.

We’ve stayed twice now and I might try to make it an annual visit. I love the extras- the fresh baked cookies and bottled water inside the suite on arrival. The soaking tub is amazing after a really strenuous hike and having soaking salts and robes ready for guests is such a great touch. This time we made use of the hot tub and it was amazing. I was given a “$30 off your next visit” coupon the last time we stayed and it enticed me to book again. I know it’s just $30 but we were only staying a night so it was actually a great savings.

The stairs after hiking Mt Mansfield. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 In all seriousness the stay was perfect. No complaints.

We had a great nights sleep in the very comfy king bed. Though small the room was cozy. The continental breakfast was surprisingly delicious , with quiches, pastries and melons. The staff (Aiden) was very friendly and helpful. Also, surprisingly it appeared we had a friendly poltergeist who kept making sure doors were locked and room keys were tucked away in pockets.

The only downside was no elevator. While the staff offered to help, it was difficult to carry luggage up two flights of stairs to the 3rd floor.
