very clean, great amenities, very close to dining, shopping & Paramount Theater, convenient free shuttle

front desk staff was a bit occupied with seemingly “non-work” activities, but they were friendly & accommodating….our room phone was broken (receiver cord was damaged/broken) which we consider a safety issue, yet maintenance staff didn’t care & did not fix claiming “whole phone or main line would need to be rewired”…we could tell it just needed a new “plug-in type” receiver (handset to phone base) connection wire…it was not fixed during our stay

The location was in walking distance of the main campus, the Corner, and the Downtown Mall. The facilities were comfortable and clean.

The advance information said that masks were required in shared indoor spaces, but this was not the case when we got there. Transmission rates were (are) high, so this would have made the stay seem safer. The breakfast was a bit, meh, like you could survive from it, but wouldn't want to go out of your way to eat it.

Comfortable room for the night with very friendly staff at night check-in. The beds were comfortable and other than old, stained carpet the room appeared clean. Could not hear the outside road noise in the room. The water was hot almost immediately and pressure was good.

The toilet was not ADA height and actually seemed about toddler height and the sink is for a 6' or taller person. We put people into space, why can we not figure out how to keep the water in the shower? A wider shower curtain could help. The room temperature is "controlled by a central location" or some such thing, which means it was a little too warm for my comfort and then it got a little chilly during the night.

Centrally located to UVA campus and many restaurants. Complementary breakfast was included. They even had a complementary shuttle ride to CHO airport!

The bathroom sink/countertops were EXTREMELY HIGH, for a short person like me (5'3). I was way up on my tippy toes just to rinse my mouth! Beds could use more firm pillows as an option. Pillows were way too soft.

The location was perfect. You can go for a walk on the street and find good, friendly restaurants. The trolly is free to enjoy the town. The room was reasonable size.

The mattress was not for me. The breakfast was included, but it wasn't as good as other breakfasts I have had in many hotels. I would rather go to Starbucks across from the hotel to have breakfast next time.

Location & comfort

That you can’t cancel without loosing your money. People can have emergencies & this is the first time in all our years of travel to have this cancellation policy.

It is always so convenient to have breakfast included in the stay. Breakfast was well done and plenty. The breakfast staff was friendly and efficient. The location of the hotel was ideal for us.

A clean, comfortable and convenient option, nicely situated almost equidistant from the University of Virginia and the downtown, pedestrian mall. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast is adequate but unremarkable (which isn't really a complaint - it was perfectly in line with what one expects from this sort of thing).

The staff went above and beyond to help me out. Highly recommend this property!

I'm gluten free and dairy free and there were no options for breakfast for me (other than coffee). The eggs were omelettes with cheese, there was no fruit, and no oatmeal, only sausage patties (commonly containing casein as a binder). This is minor, but fruit would have been nice.

Very friendly staff, helpful. Shuttle took us to our car hire location. Great washing facilities, we washed and dried our clothes for just a couple of dollars. We'd been on a trip beforehand and this facility was such a bonus.
