The location is wonderful, in a newly developed part of DC on the river. There are swings for adults and water features for kids on the river, loads of people and families of every ethnicity strolling, taking in the river breezes, the live music on weekends, and the restaurants and bars of every type along the long wharf. Plus it is a 7 minute walk to the Air & Space and Hirshhorn museums and the mall.
Because it is such a new property I had expected that new pristine vibe,I’d experienced earlier this year in a new hotel in Boulder, Colorado. But really the rooms are very nice but pretty standard for a Hilton. There is a rooftop bar with astounding views, but no real restaurant, a quibble perhaps since there are so many right out the door.

The Location was top tier!! We also had a view of the wharf. We laid on the chaise near the window to enjoy the sunset view. There are Diverse restaurants around but my favorite was Pralines and Whiskey Charlie( The Canopy's Rooftop bar)
When i did interact with the service members they were great. They were hard to get a hold of over the phone. I would have to leave my room to get help from the front desk. When i did see someone they were always wonderful to work with.

When we got back after dinner, One evening we asked for Waters. The gentleman behind the counter said “we don’t give away waters”. The ice and water machine was not working on the 3rd floor, Where our room was , so we needed to go to floor 4. I would say he needs some training in customer service. He seemed like he was quite irritated.

Modern hotel, well organized and clean. Very nice location, lots of breakfast/dining facilities at walking distance. Capital Bikeshare just around the corner = your start to explore the city!
We booked this hotel being attracted by the rooftop bar, hoping for a nice view over the city after a long day of sightseeing, however >21 and our children of 17 and 20 were not allowed. So no rooftop bar, disappointing... Air-conditioning was noisy, the fan-speed did not switch to low when set... Limited choice for Breakfast and Dinner. Good to have enough alternatives...

Breakfast was good, and the views were a delightful combination of the Washington Inlet and a courtyard. The rooftop bar, Whiskey Charlie, had MARVELOUS views, great staff, and lively patrons.
I wasn’t familiar with the Canopy logo, and had a little difficulty finding the place. I walked to the property from L’Enfant station and literally passed it three times.

Well. other than learning that the breakfast was roughly $34 with the tip after the reservation with booking.com indicated that I would be getting breakfast each morning for $15, I can't complain about the breakfast, although I would say that the quality was rather pedestrian. Also, when I told the front desk about the discrepancy and showed the confirmation email from booking.com, I was told it was something I had to resolve with them, and the hotel wasn't really interested in addressing it. Oh well, so much for customer service! On a more positive note, however, the pizza was outstanding, and I never expected to get that kind of quality from a hotel pizza. Great job on the pizza. I ate one two nights in a row. It was that good. The service in the dining room could use some coaching as it seemed rather lackadaisical, which is unfortunate. The staff were friendly, for the most part, but you aren't going to get many compliments when the basics just don't exist in terms of service.
The absence of a customer-centric atmosphere. Friendly staff is nice, but efficient staff is a much better equation when you are in the hospitality business.

Location on the wharf, it’s new clean and modern
The room AC was loud and nonstop. The coffee in the restaurant was terrible. I asked about the brand. They said’sling’. I ordered an Americano first. It was terrible. I ordered an espresso thinking user error and watched her make it. She made it correctly. It was still terrible. Change to illy or lavazza please. The room coffee was better… nespresso.

What a magnificent hotel!!! This was my 2nd time staying here and the 2nd exceeded the 1st. I believe it is because the 1st time staying, things were still being built/added to the wharf area. I would highly recommend this hotel for several reasons. One - the ambiance of the hotel and the room - very very clean and quiet. Two - the view from the room -- breathtaking. I elected to get the King Studio Suite with my 2nd visit and didn't get much rest because I couldn't stop looking out of the window at the panoramic view of Haines Point, Arlington (Crystal City), the 14th Street Bridge and even the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and right outside the window - the beautiful pier and marina. Phenomenal views! Note: with my first visit, I stayed in the King Suite which is also very lovely and a bigger space (with a living room area and eating area). However, the views were not the same (just of the courtyard that's shared with the adjacent hotel). And there are restaurants and bars galore! Whiskey Charlie (small but decent bar/lounge) right upstairs (just be mindful there's not a lot of seating indoors and unfortunately, they were renovating the outdoor area (adding a retractable awning) so seats were limited), an oyster bar right next door and Starbucks. Great options in the hotel or within a few feet of the hotel. Everything is nearby in terms of food choices. Even a CVS is housed within a five-minute walk. Also, in my humble opinion, it is worth doing valet parking. And even the parking staff were very pleasant and just as accommodating as the hotel staff. HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
I wasn't particularly thrilled about having to catch 2 elevators each time I wanted to leave or return to the hotel. But for security sake, it probably is a good feature. The 1st elevator takes you from the ground level to either directly to the bar/lounge - Whiskey Charlie (I guess it's for those patrons that are not staying at the hotel or if you are, gives you speedy access directly to the bar/lounge from the ground floor) or the elevator will take you to the lobby/receptionist area only. You have to have hotel reservations to access the elevator above that level. Not the best option, but not a deal breaker at all.

Very good location for the wharf district, peaceful and less traffic. Good restaurants. Bed was comfortable, shower was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Horrible elevator system, have to switch to get from ground entry to room and it's a new system where you enter your room in first, not in elevator, I would rather a normal elevator. Room was good but with pocket doors and farmhouse door it was not as functional, heavy doors and not good seal. With parking fee over $500 a night and definitely doesn't feel like a $500 a night room, maybe good price at $350 or so but seemed high price. Wharf area does have some good eating, but it seems like there was more coming soon than actually opened, so timing was off for getting some more eating and shopping options.

The room was very clean and comfortable. View was excellent. Very up to date and felt very safe coming in and out of the hotel. Very modern feeling.
Need better clarity on where to go to check in. Also not having a parking garage was a bit disappointing because I wasn't expecting to pay extra for parking, especially since I was on a budget. So parking information need to be a bit clearer online.
