Location
Would be nice if they offered complimentary coffee or cookies. Also, the beds are made w a fitted sheet and a duvet. I don’t believe for a second that the duvets are replaced during every cleaning, which is gross if each customer is sleeping w the same duvet. This is no top sheet.

Beautiful room, comfortable beds, within 5min of great coffee and within 30min of walk to the Library of Congress.
Valet will send you to park yourself if you don't dress up for your part. This felt bad because it implied I didn't look worthy of valet help. There was a mouse running around in the lobby when we came. That was what triggered some attention to distract from what we saw. Otherwise, due to our long drive comfortable attire we were too poorly dressed to be treated as the suit-wearing guests.

The brunch selection was nice and the food was WAY better than expected. Saved money and time eating in house compared to trying to catch a brunch reservation in the city. The room was cleaner than clean and housekeeping was on top of keeping the room in order; I greatly appreciated that. The Rooftop Lounge was super pretty and open. Would recommend this location to any solo traveler or couple looking for a romantic getaway. The hotel truly suits any visitor.
The only reality I didn't quite appreciate was the upcharge for a "King room with a view of the river" and the view being maybe 14% of the actual water. Had I known (or investigated more) that was all I'd see, I would have saved a bit of money and just booked a regular room. Nonetheless, the view was still cute. The elevator system (touch screen and goes according to floor) also took some time getting used to, however, they were fast and efficient!

Easy nearby overnight parking for under $50. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. While we didn't get a chance to use them, the hotel does have e-bikes for free use.
The "resort fee" included nothing of real value. The lighting in the room was far too dim. Dropped something on the floor and had to use my cell phone light to find it, even with all of the lights on. The shower was not good - too big with too little water.

The basement fitness center was well equipped with a Peloton, a tred and two ellipticals. It was actually way more pleasant than most basement fitness centers, and was cleaned every day. I usually ran into the cleaning people. There are TVs, a good amount of weights and bells, and mirrored walls. I go to the gym at all the hotels I stay at and this one was a solid B+ for just being clean and feeling functional even though it's smallish and in a basement. The rooms are very nicely equipped with amenities and a good size. I appreciated the many plugs around the room, and that there was good counter space/places to put my makeup bags etc. I thought that the decor was very updated feeling and the integrated reading lights into the bed headboard were helpful. The rooftop bar, while no longer called The Anchovy Social, was pretty vibrant and had nice views. There is also a lobby bar which is open happy hour type hours, and the lobby has comfy chairs and is a nice place to meet. The Metro is less than a block away and we used it frequently. Small eateries are nearby in the Navy Yard (they have a Foxtrot across the street) and we even walked to all the Wharf restaurants (a must do--I particularly loved Ilili). Huge shout out to the cleaning crew--everywhere I went, they were friendly, seemed to be doing an excellent job, and were discreet. Our room always seemed to be cleaned at the right time while we were gone, they didn't keep knocking on the door asking when we wanted our room cleaned, and all the public areas always seemed so well-kept. I'm a bit of a clean freak, so this is important to me!
Service was good but not amazing. The front desk was cordial but not top notch. However, I feel like the overall experience was good, so this wouldn't stop me from staying again. The weekend we went, the prices for rooms was very good, and so I felt it met our needs for location staying near our daughter who lives in the NavyYard, and also traveling around DC for fun restaurants, the museums and other sightseeing.

The room was nice -- comfy bed although the pillows were too flat for me. Nice bathroom. There was no breakfast and the coffee in the room was quite weak. I would expect a Hyatt to have coffee available in the lobby, but they did not. Thankfully there is a Starbucks a block away. Staff was friendly. Excellent gym. Walking distance to Nationals Park & Audi Field, lots of restaurants & bars. Metro is one block away to get anywhere else.
They need to have coffee available in the lobby, as well as better coffee (stronger) in the room.

Love how clean and modern the hotel. Staff super friendly and the location was excellent so close to restaurants and amenities. Navy yard waterfront is steps away and is so beautiful. Short Uber ride to capital hall where all the capital attractions are. Would stay at the Thompson hotel again when I return, and would recommend to everyone! Read a lot of reviews and decided on the Thompson as it was luxury for the right price without compromising any luxury!
Loved everything about the hotel and overall experience

The hotel is located in a quiet area and it has a luxurious feel to it. Breakfast was not included but that's the case in most hotels in DC. You can eat in the hotel though at moderate to high prices. Choice is limited to the "a la carte" menu. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel because it was convenient for the first days.
As in all buildings in DC, the AC was cranked up to high in the lobby and corridors so we left the AC off in our room just to warm up again going from the entrance to the room :-) So much temperature difference is a recipe for a cold.

Value for money at this location was fantastic. Room was a great size and had all the modern creature comforts. This will be my go to for future visits to DC.
My only frustration was that we were not informed of the total authorisation amount at check in. Normally this wouldn’t bother us however our stay was rather long so the authorisation charge was fairly large.

Amazing staff (valet and housekeeping), they take care of you! BONUS: Pet-friendly and no fee. The location is great, very close to food shops. We enjoyed being close to the Nationals park and the Yards. The room was very clean and king size bed was super comfortable. We were on the 8th floor and it was very quiet. We enjoyed the rooftop bar with wonderful views.
Valet did cost $60 USD for overnight parking which is insanely high but we didn't want to fight to find parking. I was fully aware of the destination fee $30/night which is on their website (discounts for massages/facial bar/24 hour access to fitness center/local, long-distance phone calls/etc) but it's something that we'll never use.
