Rooms are well decorated and cozy, with interesting quotes on mirrors, extremely clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location is close to Lincoln Memorial and Kennedy theater by walk and 8 mins walk to FoggyBottom metro. Breakfast and Lunch and groceries if needed was available at Whole Food mart 7 mins walk.

Some of the rooms are rather small in size for two people and would be helpful to know which ones are like that when booking through website in advance. But the property manager is very accommodating and understanding if you have issues

It was super convenient to all the tourist capital destinations. A few blocks away of walking distance. Considering that, it was reasonably priced. I loved how convenient the bar and pizza shop was so i didn’t have to leave the entire building to look for food in the evenings after coming back from touring the capital all day. Super clean and very industrial interior vibe, loved it. And the front staff members were all super friendly and informative of their community and whats available. For us, it was super helpful when we were able to get local insights so that we could plan our itinerary accordingly and how to use the public metro systems.

The room was very small. Like a NYC style closet size small. There wasn’t a lot of space to unpack. Anyone that gets claustrophobic might have an issue with it. This didnt bother me as much bc i am young and I am used to smaller city life spaces. My mother on the other hand, open country gal, was not fond of the lack of room space lol

Good location, quite close to Metro and within easy reach of many eating options. Walkable neighborhood in the GWU area. Room was comfortable, small but clean. I liked the breakfast options and free coffee, the flexibility of check in and checkout. Staff were friendly. The AC in the room was quiet and there was a good extractor fan in the bathroom, which you don't always get.

No USB ports (not a huge deal), you had to ask for ice from the front desk (I didn't). My room was not wonderfully soundproof - I heard noise from adjacent rooms and the rooftop bar, but not for long, and it was not a big deal.

Hotel Hive has become my favorite place to stay in DC—this was my second time here, and once again it exceeded expectations. A big part of that is thanks to Ria at the front desk. I have rarely experienced such a high level of professionalism paired with genuine warmth. She welcomed me with a sincere smile, patiently answered all my questions and requests, and remained consistently attentive throughout my stay. Her care truly made a difference and made me feel valued as a guest. The hotel itself is excellent: stylish, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Between the welcoming atmosphere, modern comfort, and outstanding staff (with special thanks to Ria), Hotel Hive has earned my loyalty. I’ll definitely be back again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

Very well located to events I was there to attend at Kennedy Center and Watergaye Hotel - easy 3 block stroll. Also close to Foggy Bottom Metro station for fast, direct travel from/to DCA airport. Plus chill and charming GWU neighborhood. Much nicer food and beverage facilities on site than I expected; next time I'll just partake there! Room was small (as stated) but had everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable. And staff was all really really nice and friendly! A great find and value.

Some of the lighting - particularly in bathrooms, both in room and off lobby - really should be brighter. I know Hive is going for a hip subdued vibe, but sometimes you gotta see the details in the mirror! lol

Will stay here again! 10/10 vibes and absolutely wonderful staff! Micro-hotel gives tiny living vibes. We were in a king buzz room, so below the bar and noted as a “noisy” room. Honestly, the noise was so minimal. It sounded like moving furniture upstairs in an old house and was usually quiet by 10/1030. The rooftop bar, restaurant and lobby bar were all nice! Drinks were so good! I loved that they offered the craft beers and specialty cocktails. Definitely an experience type of stay.

Since we were in the basement and it was really humid and rainy out, it did get sticky and humid feeling in our room when the AC wasn’t on. It is an old building though, and a dehumidifier probably would’ve helped, we just didn’t ask about one.

I strongly recommend this hotel! The staff was amazing, when I made a mistake with my booking that would have been non-refundable, they found a way to work around it and not have me loose my money: customer service is their absolute priority. I would stay here again if traveling for business or leisure. The minimalist design with the comfy vibe works incredibly well. It's a home away from home type of feeling. But really the biggest praise goes to the staff who were always helpful, never annoyed and just really kind. Ask for a room with a nice view to get the octagonally shaped room that has 6 windows!

Very nice new hotel in a calm and green students' quarter, attentive stuff, complimentary coffee/tea in the morning and reasonably-priced breakfast. Everything is thought through, you can even borrow umbrellas at the reception. Rooftop terrace and pizza restaurant with a good rating onsite are also nice additions to an overall value.

Room with bunk beds is good for one person, but not for two. Bathroom door is not closing all the way, so no privacy is granted. Moreover, it opens by itself sometimes. Also there is not enough space for towels for two - only one hook near the sink, and little towel rails in the shower.

Nice hotel, a little different but in a good way. Liked the fact I could decide when I wanted my room serviced. Bar downstairs was good, though menu options limited for lunch and dinner - anything you like as long as it's pizza!

Breakfast in the hotel was not good. Tried it twice and struck out both times. Waffles were cold, which suggests they were not freshly made, and my cold waffles were only ok. On my second try I went for a breakfast ciabatta, but it was half the size I expected for the money, so small I needed to go to another place and get a proper breakfast. My suggestion is eat elsewhere in the morning.

The staff at this place were absolutely amazing! Super friendly, helpful, just wonderful all around. They gave me food recommendations both before my stay and during my stay. Took any concerns I had seriously and helped me out with navigating the city when necessary. Keep in mind this is a MICRO hotel, so the space is small. I wouldn't want to hang out in my room all day, but it is perfect for changing and sleeping.

It's an older building, so it can get loud if other guests are not being aware of their noise level. Connecting rooms in particular can be louder. Mostly that is a problem of people not being aware of shared spaces. The front desk was very accommodating when the issue occurred.
