Amazing location!! Right at the Pike Place Market, you can even see the neon sign from the common area. Staff is friendly, and I love the privacy curtains on the beds. They host events/free dinners on certain nights, so it’s easy to meet people.
Beds were hard as a rock, woke up a few times in the night because of it. The bathroom sinks were so small and there’s nowhere to put your stuff, so my toiletries kept falling on the floor.

My friend booked the hostel so I booked it for my one night before she arrived out of convenience. Didn't look it up or anything, but was very impressed! The location is perfect, right next to Pike Place Market, and walking distance from public transportation (bus and train) and car rental companies. Fun events for guests like ice cream social or pub crawl. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Lots of common area space to study, hang out, work, eat. Huge kitchen with all the amenities. The rooms were spacious and I liked that they had a sink! There were a ton of bathrooms, and they were clean with nice showers. The luggage storage under the bed was HUGE! It fit my mid-sized suitcase. Definitely take your own locks though and a small microfiber towel if you don't want to rent!
All the stairs to climb up to the entrance with my suitcase😩😂. It wasn't that bad though, but something to keep in mind if stairs aren't your thing. There is no elevator. The light at my bed was out so I couldn't use that. Everything else was great!

Loved the breakfast and friendly atmosphere. Staff is always awesome. Love the location, only spent about $20 on food the whole trip since H-Mart was right next door. Target is close by if you forget anything. Lots of board games to pass the time, fast Wi-Fi, friendly faces always. You can't beat the location. The communal area is a nice place to wind down after a day of exploring the city. Westlake Station is a short walk nearby, so you're not limited just to Pike's Place.
Always a gamble with the pillows here. I got a pretty flat one. Didn't wanna bring my own in case of bedbugs. My roommate was having a loud conversation pretty late, so I don't know if there are any rules about that, but if there are I would've liked them to be enforced. Beds are always rock solid. Showers are clean, but I wish they offered cheap flip-flops/sandals for sale at the front desk for those of us who would prefer to use those in communal showers.

I loved the location, the price, great free dinner on Sunday, and free wine on Tuesday. There are locks available for the purchase (5 dollars) so you can lock the storage under the bed, the storage was big enough for all of our stuff. I loved the common area and free breakfast that includes eggs, cereal and fresh bananas and apples. With the curtains on the bed there was enough privacy even in the room with 4 other people. I also loved the possibility to use fridge and leave own food in the common area and even the possibility to use the kitchen for cooking for yourself. We also appreciated the chance to leave our backpacks in the locked area in the hostel on the day of our departure. There were also available free Seattle tours every morning that we didn't go to but appreciated the possibility. Overall I really can recommend the stay in the hostel, I would definetely stay here again.
It exceeded my expectations but the truth is I wasn't expected much. It's a very basic hostel for very good price in one of the best locations you can get in Seattle so don't expect much either and you'll be pleasentely surprised.

It was set up nicely. Friendly staff, private bunks, nice atmosphere. Bathrooms were fine though one next to my room did not lock properly. Immediately next to the market and very close to a large mall, train station, and the pier/ ferries.
While it is in a good location for seeing main Seattle sights, keep in mind that this area is not great once the market closes… everything near here completely shuts down by 7-8pm. Even restaurants etc. the area is also heavily occupied by street involved population which isn’t an issue per say except that it doesn’t feel safe walking around at night when combined with everything being closed early and no one else really being out and about… the area closer to the space needle or the university district was much more lively in the evening.

It has been a great pleasure to stay at Green Tortoise Hostel. The location is perfect. It took less than an hour to get there by the 1 Line from the airport. As it is located right across the Pike Place Market, it was so convenient to walk outside and take a long walk along the market, enjoy good food, and get some coffee. I also appreciate all the staff's kindness and thoughtfulness. I stayed at the hostel for a week and could observe how they welcomed other travelers and organized a nice Christmas dinner! If I travel to Seattle again, either alone or with some friends, I would like to stay here again.

Affordable, clean, and comfortable hostel. We were in a co-Ed room and felt safe and secure the whole time. Noise level from the street was surprisingly low, and each. Ink was equipped with ample outlets, a fan, a lamp, and privacy shades. Mattress was fairly comfortable, staff was super friendly, and the common spaces fostered connecting with other guests, but also had quiet spaces to read. Bathrooms were clean, convenient, and spacious. There were also some sort of community event happening each evening we were there, including free beer from the front desk one night.
The pillows were a bit too flat, and the door hinge to our room was very loud/squeaky, which made it hard not to disturb others who were sleeping late at night or early in the mornings.

We loved the free breakfast and clean bathrooms and rooms. The staff were very friendly too with great events going on every night.
The fan at our bed was quite loud but otherwise everything else was great!

The location was great, right in the middle of everything such as shops, pubs, transport links etc., and right next to Pike Place Market. The staff were great, very helpful, professional and friendly. I liked the privacy curtains around the bed. The bed was comfortable and great for storage underneath.
The room was quite small for an 8 bed dorm, and as I was by the door, I was constantly awoken every time the door opened/closed (as was the case for the girl across from me). We might have been unlucky that there were a few inconsiderate people who were in and out late at night during our stay - which I must say is not usually the case.

So many things stuck out for this property! First, the location was absolutely amazing. You honestly couldn’t ask for anything better. Second, the bunk beds, curtains, and locker spaces were great! You could shut the curtains around you and it offered soo much privacy. Third, the hostel has a smoking room, for a traveler it offers a space to partake in a joint or two ;) Lastly, just a welcoming and comfortable environment, breakfast was included, free dinner one night, able to ask staff about Seattle happenings. One night we even had a little jam session that included guitar, piano, and vocals. It was fun and unexpected.
I wished the bathrooms had better ventilation/fans. The frame of the bunk beds were great but the mattresses were terrible.
