The location is perfect. All of Seattle's main attractions are within walking distance and you can find shops, restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the area. The staff is kind and works hard to keep things clean and neat. The free breakfast and open kitchen are great if you wanna just cook something for yourself and save a little money. Sometimes you can find meals for free in the kitchen. There's a Target next door which is very convenient. There's activities every night (with free stuff), allowing you to meet other people and have some fun. Everything is pretty clean most of the time. The rooms have AC and a small fan for your bunk bed. I visited on August 2024.
I wished the bunk beds had like a little shelf on the wall or some kind of surface to leave your stuff on top of while you sleep. I had to keep my phone and stuff on the bed while it was charging and it wasn't that comfortable. Another thing is I worked on my laptop while I was there but there's not an area that's specifically for working so it can be a little loud or you can also find people eating in that area, this wasn't a big issue, though.

The atmosphere is very nice. The cleaning staff makes a very good job. The staff in the reception are very friendly and service minded. A lot of common areas exists, so you have plenty of space to sit and chat with other guests. The breakfast is good. I like that there are free dinner some nights, etc. The kitchen area is nice, but there are improvements that can be made. (See answer on my next question)
There is only one (1) micro in the kitchen which is very little for so many guests. The guests need to hand wash their dishes which is very good. But it is impossible to get them clean especially if you used oil on your food, as there are only cold water. Physical laws says you need warm water to fully remove grease.

Amazing location!! Right at the Pike Place Market, you can even see the neon sign from the common area. Staff is friendly, and I love the privacy curtains on the beds. They host events/free dinners on certain nights, so it’s easy to meet people.
Beds were hard as a rock, woke up a few times in the night because of it. The bathroom sinks were so small and there’s nowhere to put your stuff, so my toiletries kept falling on the floor.

Convenient location, always someone at the reception and the lounge and kitchen is always available to use. Free breakfast was a true money saver. The bathrooms are completely self contained units which I liked. They were very helpful and accommodating when I had an emergency come up and had to delay my arrival.
Needs a bit of update and fixing up in places but also just adds to the old hostel charm. Didn't bother me but the area is a bit sketchy. Room was pretty tight but being that I was barely there it was just a place to sleep and put my stuff which worked fine. I stayed in a women's dorm FYI.

Service and location
Drugs and homeless right outside the door. Heavily patrolled and they don’t bother anyone.

How amazing and helpful the staff was. I’ve stayed in many hostels before but this one wins when it comes to costume service!!
My only complaint is about the bed. I could feel the wood under the mattress, which made me wake up many times through the night. They didn’t have elevators either and, as understandable as it is since it’s an old building, they should let us know in the property description. I had a big luggage and carrying it up when I arrived was hard. They did offer to help taking it to my room once I was in the reception and carrying it down the stairs after I checked out, though. Points for that! Great staff!

The location was so central! Close to the sights and to public transportation. I preferred the top bunk during my stay since I preferred the openness, but it did have a thinner mattress. Every little detail was thought of; individual lights and fans, hooks for towels and coats, towels to rent, and locks for purchase. The included breakfast was great too, and ability to utilize the kitchen was wonderful. It was also definitely a mix of all demographics which was nice, kept it from feeling to much like a college freshman camp haha. I think the thing I appreciated the most was the friendliness of the staff, especially when coat-checking my bag since I had a super late flight. This was my first ever hostel experience and it definitely exceeded my expectations.
The stairs were a pain, but the staff was very helpful and I asked for help carrying it to the top floor. The first of the 2 rooms I was in was also closer to the Main Street, and the first night I was awoken at 4am by someone yelling expletives at the street. But no such problems in my second room. I slept very soundly there.

Such a great place to stay! This was my first time in a hostel and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff were super friendly and helpful! The rooms were small but very cosy and a large storage space for bags! The bathrooms were incredible and very clean! Would definitely stay here again! Lots of activities scheduled for the week…i wish i took part it more!
The location was very noisy and a lot of homeless people so at times didn’t feel the safest but I probably just need to gain some more confidence! Other than that no complaints
