We stopped at the Inn on our way from Lake Superior to Madison. Since it was summer, the Inn was far from full, but we received great friendly service both in the evening and in the morning. The Inn is clearly run by people who care. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. The Inn is on a quiet street, and our room had a balcony facing the woods. We didn't get a chance to use it, but it looked perfect to hang out. We forgot our toiletries in the bathroom, and Barbara nicely mailed them to us in Madison. If we ever need to stay in Wausau again, it will be at Rib Mountain Inn!

What a beautiful and cute Inn. Everything was so clean, great, and wonderful. We loved staying in the studio it had everything we needed for our stay. It was warm outside when we stayed otherwise we would of definitely used the fireplace but loved sitting outside relaxing with a bonfire we had which was perfect. Such a Perfect place glad we found your Inn. The staff was so wonderful and helpful on everything. The breakfast was great especially like u can make your own waffles and a good variety of different breakfast foods. Thanks again for wonderful stay and great service. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there u won't be disappointed. Will be telling people about this great beautiful Inn.

The rooms were really clean, the staff were extremely helpful particularity considering it was a business trip. The breakfast was decent as well, with a cozy dining area. Wide selection of coffee and tea. Quiet affluent residential section. Will definitely consider going here again!

The room had A/C off by default, not normally a problem but the room felt "not dry" for some time, longer than anticipated. It was a little bit far from town as well, not awful by any means by car, but there's nothing immediate around the hotel.

We have an annual get-together with some of my high school friends every year and we meet in Wausau because it's a central location. We used to stay at a different place, but that hotel is now closed, so we gave the Rib Mountain Inn a try. It's delightful. The inn primarily serves skiers at Granite Peak during the season, but it's a nice spot tucked into a high-end residential neighborhood; it's cozy, less than 20 rooms, and you do have some stairs to navigate, but they're quite upfront about that, so we were not concerned. We had two rooms and they were both comfortable; one of the rooms had a kitchenette and a nice table that made it possible to sit down and have snacks and beverages right in the room. It's exceptionally quiet; no traffic noise or other distractions. They had a simple but adequate breakfast selection and all the coffee we wanted. We even worked in a game of cribbage while we ate. We'll definitely be back!

We selected The Rib Mountain Inn as we had made last minute plans to be in Wausau. The price was very economical and we knew the neighborhood the hotel lies in.(very safer) The downstairs main room is very large & has an “Up North” feeling. Our room was spacious and clean. You have to understand this is not a modern hotel, rather a neighborhood hidden gem. Nice walking path leading to a ski hill next to the property line. Staff so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a bit aged but met our needs. I’d highly recommend this spot when in Wausau.

Overall we enjoyed our 2 days at The Rib Mountain Inn. We had a light go out in the room and I told the facility and they were going to fix right away. The light went out the morning we left so didn’t impact our stay.

Location was great. Its sort of off the highway and the place is so comfortable and homey. Most staff were super nice and helped with extra towels when needed. Breakfast was good, they have breakfast sandwiches and an oatmeal bar along with bagels and waffles. Coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate until 10pm is awesome! We will definitely stay here again but will pay the extra for the fireplace/couch and bar area room. We saw them when we were leaving and they look so nice and even more spacious! It's great that every room has a balcony area to sit outside. They do have a sauna and washer and dryer available.

Wish I would have known the hot tub was having maintenance though as that wasn't posted on the website and it was out of order all 4 days we were there.

Love that the rooms had wood flooring and not carpet. The balcony was great to be able to sit outside. I had two queen beds and they were comfortable. Tastefully done rooms with the decorations. The commons/breakfast area was fabulous!!! The choices were amazing. Hot food, cereal, instant oatmeal, bagel/muffin area. The coffee bar was amazing! They had a machine for cappuccinos and hot cocoa with ALL the fixings, and two types of coffee one regular and one was flavored. This was so comforting to see the quality of food and varieties! The staff were friendly and very helpful!!

Well the lights were on in the room when we got there. We were flipping a couple switches to see what turns on what and the lights above the beds (4 total) never came back on. The floor lamp was dull at best. The hot water was warm at best when I went to wash my hands. We did let the front desk know about the lights and they were doing to have maintenance come up and fix it but we told them it was fine as we used the floor lamp and the desk lamp along with the TV for light. I am positive that will be taken care of before someone else stays.

Everything! The inn is charming and comfortable. The deluxe fireplace suite is amazing! We even loved the old- school keys. The entire staff is friendly, and Barb is exceptional! The huge outdoor hot tub is perfect on a cold snowy night, and the indoor sauna is great, too. The breakfast was simple and easy with plenty of options.

The price for a suite was only $20 more than a standard hotel room elsewhere. The suite was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfy. The deck was an added bonus & the location was quiet! It was a no brainer to stay at Rib Mountain. Good selection of breakfast items to start your day too. We look forward to staying again!

That we only stayed one night. I wish we could’ve enjoyed the facilities more but we will do that next time.

Had a lovely stay and will definitely stay here again during the winter since it is so close to the lifts. We arrived fairly late at night (close to lobby closing time) and staff was very accommodating and great at communicating. Check in was a breeze with the added plus of free hot chocolate! Room was spacious, clean, with comfy beds. We took advantage of hot tub and spa in the morning too. Zero complaints, place is wonderful.
