Our family of 12 stayed here for 5 nights, Jan. 5-10, 2025. We had cars so the location was quiet and peaceful for us, away from all the tourists in the main part of the city, but just a short drive to get souvenirs, pizzas, etc. The young man and woman at the front desk were very hospitable and helpful. They arranged a boat tour at the last minute and told us about a local place to wade in a creek and climb hills, that the kids really liked. We appreciated the Hosteria's common area, with its wide views of the lake, and played games there almost every night. If there's a criticism it would be the towels and bed linens are 'tired'! We had daily housekeeping and breakfast with fruit, lots of sweets, hard cooked eggs, toast n jam, jello, and several choices of beverages. Everyone found something they liked each morning! They even did some laundry for some of us for a reasonable cost. Overall, this place was a perfect place to call home for 5 nights while we did fun activities together in El Calafate!

The bed linens and towels could use replacements.

Very nice people, available to help at any time. Breakfast simple but ok. Have brown bread and fresh fruit. You can use their space for your own picknick. You feel very like home. Sleeping ; sometimes a little noisy , people, wind. Good bed. 96% blind outs. I liked waking after dinner to the hotel,, though a 6 min taxi available

It would be nice they had a couple of bikes to rent to get to downtiown.

The lake views are stunning, reception staff are friendly & helpful.

Our room was not cleaned in 3 days, and staff did not always deliver on promises such as your bookings.

I did not like anything about this hotel.

Firstly, they have no credit card facility at the hotel to pay for your stay … they wanted to copy my credit card back and front and their “office in Buenos Aires” will put through the payment! Unbelievable … it’s like giving my PIN number to strangers so that they can empty my bank account from the ATM …..or buy as much as they like online using my credit card 3 digit code! I paid top dollar for a room at this hotel in season … average rate in January is $130 … I paid $215 per night … and then they charged me $1.50 every morning that I requested scrambled eggs! The hotel is at least 3 km from El Calafate town. I had dinner on the night I arrived … “lamb chops”. … turns out that there is no lamb chops … it was a lamb type of ragout … it was a tad tasty, but not what I expected … the menu said it was served with potato … there was no potato. The breakfast is basic and not good … fruit, cereal and cake/biscuits. I would not recommend this hotel … shocking for the price you pay. I would not recommend this hotel … the security of your money and the high price for a 2 star hotel is not acceptable
