This hotel is worth all the great ratings! I was a little put off by the appearance of the rooms which looked a little dated. However I need not have worried. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was well lit and well ventilated (one of the few Patagonian hotels I stayed at that had good ventilation fans) with lots of storage and hanging space. Although I was given a ground floor room when I requested a higher floor, I didn't hear a lot of noise and had a restful sleep. Staff were exceptional and remembered me and what my plans were despite having so many rooms to deal with. They also alerted me to the fact that a customs form was required for the border crossing bus, which was sent late by the bus company, and rebooked my taxi to the station so I didn't arrive too early. Much appreciated!

Rooms looked a little dated but there have been strategic updates that made it comfortable.

Very characteristic hotel, in mountain style Spacious and clean rooms, as well as the bathrooms Quiet rooms perfect for a good rest Staff always present to make sure the guest has everything he needs Pleasant relaxation area with pool table

Very expensive bar drinks Breakfast was not very varied, it was the same every day Breakfast closes at 9:30, too early The hotel is not cheap but it is in line with the prices of El Calafate, considerably higher than all other Argentine destinations

The Patagonia Queen is conveniently located close to downtown. It has beautiful wood and light throughout. The staff were very attentive and helpful. They made reservations for us, called outfitters, suggested restaurants and called taxis. They asked about our days and we’re genuinely interested in our experiences. Our room was clean and comfortable, the sitting areas were pretty and bright, and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. This hotel was especially nice to come back to after multiple long excursions. The staff made us feel welcomed and no detail was too small to ensure a pleasant experience.

The hotel is at one end of the main street in town, and it’s cozy and comfortable. We were exhausted by the time we arrived and the staff were welcoming, friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was spotless. We especially appreciated the bathroom’s great water pressure and hot water after a long day of glacier trekking. The breakfast was quite good and opens early for hikers. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Calafate, and we would happily stay here again.

The room felt slightly dated, but it wasn’t in any way uncomfortable. The power also went out on the final morning of our stay (a power cut to the whole city), but the hotel’s generator kicked on within 30 seconds.

The breakfast was very nice and had a great variety of options. The staff was awesome…even surprised my husband with birthday cake. Btw….cake was fantastic. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed and then some. Heated bathroom floors awesome! Front desk staff/owners could not have been more helpful…esp when I limped in after a long car ride and hike. 😵‍💫

Not a thing!

Super comfortable and spacious room. The breakfast had a lot of choices, healthy but also hearty. The location is on walking distance to all restaurants and shops of the town. Raphael the hotel manager was really nice and made his signature cocktail for us. His English was very good and he told us a lot about the Argentinian culture.

None. All was good.

The room was of a good size and very clean. The breakfast was satisfactory.

The room had not was to make tea/coffee. There was no safe in the room. The check out at 10.00 was very inconvenient as our flight was at 16.00 and there was no way to extend it. The price was high for the service provided. The gym had 1 treadmill that was not working properly. There was no lift and had to carry the suitcases up 1 floor.

-> Absolutely love the breakkie. I am lactose & gluten intolerant and the hotel made sure that my breakkie was great. -> the manager is a sweetheart. He made cocktails for us. Every morning greeted us with a big smile and great humor. -> the location is perfect; close to great restaurants.

Hotel was great! PS: Just have your US dollar in cash to pay for your hotel. Nothing to do with the hotel: But bring sufficient Argentinian pesos to buy food, etc. The ATMs don't give you much money. The max is 45000 Argentinian Pesos.

The staff was amazing, very kind and courteous genuine interest on how they can help our day and stay better. Staff made this our favorite place to stay during our 2 weeks in Argentina. Room was spacious, and bath jacuzzi for two worked great.

The stay and staff was very pleasant. A lingering question, was this location did automatically charge a 21% Tax for foreigners, and or offered a 30% discount when paying in cash. Using the blue dolor either option was still okay, but this was the only hotel out of 5 that actually charged the 21% VAT. I did hear this is quite common, but also read that it is often except when providing proper documentation of entry through immigration. Still worth it, just note you will pay 20% more than expected (if you are thinking of getting a 50% discount using the blue dollar), once again highly recommend, just found it odd, that this was the only location that actually charged it.
