We stayed for two nights, the room was comfortable but fairly basic in terms of amenities (did have aircon which we didn’t have to use). It had a good communal kitchen and the rooftop bar was fun to have. It was a great location right in the middle of everything/close to the beach.
It was quite noisy outside the hotel - on Saturday night there was thumping club music til just after midnight (I think coming from down the road), and on both Sunday and Monday morning there were multiple garbage trucks right outside our window from about 6am for an hour which was very loud (one guy even started screaming from his window that it was 6am).

The surf house hit everything I needed. I stayed in a four person room. It was convenient that there was a small curtain. The kitchen was well equipped and large. It was really cool to have surfboards to borrow. The location was amazing. I also really loved the yoga twice a week.
The room was fairly small for four people. We didn’t have direct light in our room. I thought that the space in the kitchen wasn’t really cozy to hang out when the weather was bad. The hostel is far bigger than one would expect looking at the way it’s advertised.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds were really comfy, the under bed locker boxes were a plus, as was the curtain on the bed. Plenty of floor space in my 4 bed dorm. Bathrooms were decent, the showers had space in there where you could change afterwards without getting everything wet, so that was plus! There were activities on every night, I didn’t attend any while I was there but would have been keen to go to the yoga and games night! The staff were so lovely and very accommodating, couldn’t fault their kindness and professionalism. The kitchen is huge, also very busy, although that was around the weekend, so during the week it might be a bit quieter. The location was absolutely perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here, I did three nights and would have loved to stay longer!
It could be a bit loud at night from time to time, with doors slamming, and people talking in the corridors, although this was never for long, it did wake me up. Although my dorm was right next to the bathroom so I think that increased the foot traffic outside! (There were signs saying to be quiet and respectful of other guests). The bathrooms, specifically the showers, could be cleaned a bit better, there was frequently hair on the drain etc. But it didn’t feel particularly dirty, just could do with more attention.

Great location right next to the beach! Love that you can pay a bit extra for parking (totally worth it) and not have to worry about your car the whole stay. Walking distance to everything. The hostel has a HUGE communal kitchen if you want to self-cater, a laundry room, and offers filtered drinking water for free. Everything was clean and despite having a rooftop bar - the hostel was chill and pretty quiet. Probably the best hostel experience for all ages.
The listing should be more clear about parking not being free but paid. Still a really great deal.

Our room was upgraded to the one with balcony . Super happy to see how modern and clean are the rooms and with full toiletries and hair blower available. Customer service was going over and beyond to make us feel comfortable . Super love how you can even cast your phone on the smart tv. It’s location is perfect and all places can be explored by foot and we were allowed to even park the whole day of the check out day while we still explore the place upon check out. Complimentary welcome drinks are also a plus
Some noise outside which are external and beyond the hostels control.

Great location, insanely good aircon in the room, very clean rooms and bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and decently sized. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooftop bar had a solid drink selection, cheap happy hour and good staff, as well as a good pool table and activities. Could have opened a bit later, as a 10:00 finish is quite early.
Bed was on wheels and rolled when you lent on it, not a big deal but quite annoying.

The best hostel I've stayed in on my travels so far. Staff were so friendly and helpful, amazing location close to beach, shops, restaurants, supermarket. Room was perfect - individual lockable drawers for your belongings, having the bathroom in the room was so nice also. Kitchen was generally very clean, and loads of space to cook, store your food and plenty of space for eating and relaxing. Yoga twice a week was great and option to use surf boards for free too. A great place to stay, highly recommend!
Kitchen closes at 10 and the onsite bar so there was nowhere else to go really unless you wanted to go out to a bar. Small area down near reception but not much space for many people to relax and read/chat/drink coffee etc. A small thing, otherwise all good!

The hostel overall is great, amazing location right off main beach. The staff are friendly and lovely, & the bathrooms are cleaned regularly. Having the bar upstairs with amazing specials and activities is awesome and really adds to the experience which I think makes it the best hostel in Byron.
Just slightly could be improved are little things like I was there 5 nights and not sure if my room was swept once - I had a private room and the floor got a bit sandy - I had to ask the cleaners to empty my bin by the second last day because it was so full so not sure that they regularly cleaned my room. It would be cool if parking could be included with private rooms in peak seasons since it's already an expensive room rate.

Hostel is nice, awesomely located right in the middle of everything and very close to the beach. The kitchen is really spacious and fantastic, with every appliance you would ever need. Lovely and helpful reception staff.
Bathrooms could use more cleaning. There was always some flooding going on. Bunk beds are seriously unstable. If the upper bed person moves even by just lifting their arm, the whole bed rocks as if an earthquake was happening. Cleaning staff starts at 7am and it is not a silent crew.

The perfect accommodation in Byron! The room itself is 10/10 - spacious, good AC, and everything is new and clean. In terms of amenities, the kitchen and laundry room is massive, and there’s even a rooftop bar. The staff are all super helpful and operates a 24h desk. Location couldn’t get better. You’re within minutes from the beach and loads of great restaurants and bars. If you’re coming to Byron, you have to stay here! One of the best hostels on the East Coast for sure!
