Although this property does have shared rooms, the private rooms with ensuites are just as nice as any other studio apartment in Byron and I've stayed in a few. The Staff are very friendly and go to the extra effort to help you enjoy your stay and match any price. The location is central to the city so the majority of restaurants and shops are in close walking distance. There's a great vibe and energy in the place, the rooms are clean and serviced daily. I've stayed at the Vali multiple times because the value for money is great and the staff make you feel at home.

This is only a personal preference but I do like a waterview property, although there isn't a lot of those in Byron..... strangely enough, unless you pay the more exclusive prices that come with that view. Appartments with an extra bedroom or 2 would be good for families to allow more room but they do provide roll away beds for the larger studio rooms.

Nice modern hostel, felt like a hotel. Friendly staff, who organise social activities. One staff member changed the sunrise hike to accommodate for my stay! Lots of kitchen cupboard space for food and in the fridge and beds super comfy. Added bonuses, fire doors that do not slam, 2 pillows and luxury shower products in the bathrooms! Would definitely recommend !

It feels incomplete - I know it’s due a bigger renovation in June so this may change. There wasn’t really a cosy communal room, the lobby had chairs etc but would be nice to have a room to hang out and meet other hostel people. Carpet in the rooms could do with upgrading, makes the room look unclean due to stain marks etc and would be great if there were more cooking rings in the kitchen, there are only 3!

The hostel was real cosy and well decorated. It felt like home and it was a relief after having been in dirty and poor hostels. The location is perfect, 5min from the beach, 1min from the piano bar etc… Always clean, that was really appreciated . The room of 6 people was big enough, there was also a balcony and a small fridge.

The price was really expensive. And the hostel is not really social. The kitchen is too small and there are only 3 hotplates. So you can’t cook at normal hours or you have to wait a really long time.

Loved everything about Vali!! I hope after the renovations, the process doesn’t skyrocket to make it out of reach for budget-backpackers to stay. Every staff member is warm and welcoming. The place is beautiful. Kickboxing 2x a week, a bbq 1 night a week with free food/drink. Great wifi. The bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned 2-3 times a day. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion provided in the bathrooms, air-con… need I say more?! I stayed in an 8 bed female only, 8-bed mixed, and 6-bed mixed. Some rooms have really lovely balconies, some have a TV (not sure if they work), they have a mini fridge too! I hope the property keeps the rules to allow outside alcohol - this is a huge plus! Atakan at the front desk was soo helpful (as was everyone else!)

Needs a larger fridge in the kitchen, and to finish the common area & terrace.

Been staying at Vali for over a month. Insane value for money. Amazing facilities, rooms have fridges, sofas/tables and curtains on the bunks. Location is bang in the middle of it all and right next to the pub. Board/bike hire at the front desk. Weekly movie night, bbq, boxing class. Laundry room, free shampoo/body wash, daily cleaning. Staff are the best especially Damo and they’re at reception 24/7. Also a late check-out which is always good.

I love Vali! I’ve been staying here for 4 weeks now and it’s been such a great base in Byron whilst looking for work. The staff here are SO amazing and go out of their way to help you and improve your experience at every turn. From moving things around to accommodate extensions, printing CVs, offering a lift when you were stuck (thanks Damien!), purchasing a special TV subscription so you could watch your favourite team play on the big screen (thanks Luke!), and just generally being awesome people. Lots of different activities/events planned weekly to meet other guests - I won near enough $150 dollars in Great Northern vouchers through the bingo/trivia nights. The location is perfect - right in the town centre and just 2 minutes from the beach. It’s a nice break from chaotic hostel life as it feels more like a hotel. Super clean, modern, air-con, free shampoo/body wash/lotion in the bathrooms for an extra luxury touch! Thank you so much everyone at Vali!

There’s not much I don’t like! It’s such a nice place. There’s more plans to refurb and add additional facilities like a pool and big social space so pretty soon it will be absolutely perfect.

Bright and airy, so clean even the kitchen, such comfy beds with curtains which is so rare for east coast. Even had TWO pillows and such a nice duvet. Social areas if you want to use them and such an ideal location. Hostel rooms have a TV and table and chairs which encourages people to be social. We actually made friends here and struggled in other hostels. Staff are genuinely lovely and so many events on. Feels like a nice hotel but with all the positives of a hostel. Genuinely best hostel I’ve stayed at in all of SE Asia and Australia. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Literally nothing

Modern building, liked the boxing classes and the central location. Staff are excellent, Brooke offered a treasure trove of local knowledge and helped me to plan my day trip and Damian was very thoughtful and lively, adding to the atmosphere. I was so impressed by the handling of a girl in my dorm being hospitalised. The team went above and beyond to look after her, led by the manager Luke, I was really happy to see this kind of empathetic and considerate leadership.

The location is just perfect, the beach is super close, the shops and restaurants are at your door. Parking is cheap and undercover in a secure car park, elevator access to reception and your room. I received a free upgrade to a king room with private bathroom, it was just so cute, clean and had everything needed. Did I mention CLEAN💯 For a hostel/hotel I was so impressed. I loved it and I will definitely stay there again. Has a huge TV to. This place would be just perfect for a group of friends, or for 2 or 4 couples to stay in the share rooms. It’s such a cute, cosy, clean and awesome location. PET FRIENDLY ❤️❤️❤️

No movies to watch on that big fantastic TV when your chilling in your room late at night. Not a complaint, just a suggestion. I loved everything about this place.

The location was perfect - 5 mins from coach stop and in the centre of just about everything. The reception was open and friendly and the staff were exceptional. The kitchens and bathrooms were kept really clean and even had shampoo. Conditioner, body wash, hand wash and lotion in the bathroom. The beds were really comfy and the bedrooms really clean. The addition activities - yoga, boxing, movie night were all fabulous. 10/10- would highly recommend!

Honestly, it was probably the best hostel I've ever stayed at. Nothing bad at all.
