Location

The hotel is very old and dated. It needs a massive renovation to keep its 5 star rating. When I book accommodation through booking.com I always receive the worst room, I never get what I believe I booked and paid for, when I question the hotel, they say I should have booked directly and not through booking.com The furniture and carpet were so dirty that I requested blankets be put over the couch so we could feel comfortable sitting on it. The dressing gown was old and dirty, and the spa looked like a dirty, uncared for environment. We wouldn't stay there again, or recommend it to anyone.

The beds were very comfy - definitely recommend if you're going with a friend to get the twin room with two double beds. The breakfast from the buffet style restaurant was so yummy and nice - the eggs benedict station was a nice touch as well as a proper coffee machine that was included in the breakfast. The toiletries were abundant and plentiful and smelt amazing. Overall service was satisfactory.

The room was a bit dated and the bathroom was not very well maintained, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the joins, one of the lamps didn't work and the room smelt of musty marijuana at times ( although this could've been the neighbours). The bathroom was the biggest led down though as he bath tiles were falling off at the base of the bath, the shower head was leaky and therefore had a low water pressure, the shower door didn't close properly and leaked all over the floor and the exhaust fan didn't work so the whole bathroom fogged up after a 5 min shower!

The staff were great and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Despite being on the 4th floor, I was unable to hear any traffic from outside. The facilities, such as the spa and pool, were up to their usual high standard.

One or two-ply thin-as-tissue toilet paper. This is a false economy and sends the wrong message. It makes a visitor think "hmm, if they're skimping on toilet paper, what else is wrong?" It also brings unwanted comparisons to one star motels. Just reach in the pockets and provide 3-ply toilet paper. You provide excellent toiletries, scrumptious towels and wonderful showers... so why not good toilet paper?

Great location and nice bedroom and bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, which you would expect for $45. The lady at the reception desk this morning 13th Feb was helpful and friendly.

We arrived late at night and there was nobody to help with our luggage, to get it out of the taxi or to keep the hotel door open while we carried the luggage inside. There was nothing complimentary in the room except for what felt like cheap coffee and tea. With all this, it didn't feel like a 5-star hotel for us (although they charge like one).

Location was perfect. Hotel spotless. So comfortable. Hotel staff very courteous and efficient. Dinner and breakfast had a very good selection. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Great bathroom with bath and shower. Bed very comfortable. Plenty of storage fir our clothes. Pool was great. Loved jacuzzi and pool was nkve and cool which suited us Lovely view from 29th floor. Great to have small shop on corner and near Woolworths, nails bar and stores in AC.

4 Lifts sometimes not all working so 5- 6 stops going up and down. Not a problem but can imagine if claustrophobic it just prolongs the journey in the lift. Brooskys bar a little impersonal I felt but went once in 5 days so not an issue.

The concierge were professional, friendly and accommodating to our requests. Housekeeping, front desk staff were efficient and friendly with a smile every time we met them. The spa services were excellent. The property was situated within a short walk or tram ride to Circular Quay and the ferries, while Wynyard train station next door gave us complete access to anywhere our heart desired. The car park was easy and convenient as we were on a road trip.

The menu wasn’t to our taste in the restaurant so we weren’t able to partake. The gym was not accommodating to my workout needs but plenty of gym options within one block of the hotel Fitness First, Anytime Fitness and more.

Very nice room and bed, plenty of space for bags.

The TV remote didn't work, the Bathroom basin drain was blocked. The bar fridge was full to the brim of drinks the hotel is trying to sell to customers, we had to remove some items so we could store our few items. When paying at this level I would expect everything to be working when you walk in, the staff were responsive to get things working but these should be raised by house keeping and not by guests. It's obvious house keeping didn't even turn on the water otherwise they would have realised the blocked drain.

We cannot fault our stay at this beautiful hotel. We were upgraded at check in to the top floor with a great view. The hotel is a 10 minute easy walk to The Rocks, Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge and convenient to the shopping areas either by walking or using the light rail. Our room was clean, comfortable and maintained daily which is an added bonus. The staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast included many options for vegetarians and other dietary requirements, and the food was tasty. Overall, it's a fabulous hotel!

Room was amazing and fantastic view from the living room window, shame not he same from our bedroom window considering it was a deluxe room. Comfy bed and lovely big bathroom.

Didn't really like the closeness of the office workers in building next door, so had to keep bedroom blind/curtains closed all day which made the whole room dark and not much lighting either. We were next to a storage room at the end of the corridor, so were woken up early by staff using it. Considering it was a deluxe room, we would have thought it would be fantastic views all round, so disappointed. Also we appreciate you pay for any items in the mini bar, but to charge for a bottle of ordinary water, we did think was unacceptable as most hotels give you free water and no sign to say if tap water in bathroom was drinkable. Also there was no mirror by the desk, a proper dressing table would be a small luxury that would make all the difference.

I liked the location of the hotel being close to the Rocks and the Harbour precinct. Our room was large and comfortable. Indoor pool, steam room and spa (sauna too but it was out of order unfortunately)

The main reason we selected this hotel was for the sauna. We were very disappointed that the sauna wasn't working, there also wasn't a notice on it and we watched as numerous other guests continued to walk in to discover it was broken and shared our disappointment. There was a steam room but our preference is a sauna. Also whilst out accommodation was comfortable and spacious we were disappointed that there was a continuous noise outside our window which made sleeping difficult. We couldn't work out if it was the rattle of an air conditioning machine outside or condensation dripping or even a flag hitting against a window? Either way we would not stay in this particular room again as a result.
