I stayed in a 2 bed dorm. I was lucky to share the room with a nice person during my stay. The staff were lovely and the room had a large window with view to the park. The bed was very comfy, but if I were a very tall person, maybe the bed would have been a little small. The location is really good, with Newtown a short walk away.

The toilets on the upper floor need a bit of work. The toilet seat is coming out, but they were cleaned every day. Other bad thing about the toilets is that you need to activate the light on a timer from the outside, so if you are in the middle of a shower and the light runs out, you need to open the door to activate the light again.

The location is great. About 5 minutes walk from Stanmore train station. There is also a small IGA supermarket near the station too. The building is a old with signs of wear and tear, but it is clean and has a nice homey feel. The lady on the front desk is chatty and friendly. There are two sections, the upstairs rooms and the downstairs rooms. Both have their own bathrooms. The kitchen and outdoor area is in the downstairs section. It was pretty quiet when I was there. On street parking was easy to find as I arrived in the afternoon on a weekday. It might be a bit more difficult on weekends, but not impossible.

We are repeat guests and always choose this beautiful spot for our stays in Sydney. Very homely and welcoming, but also very private. Friendly, and surrounded by good local venues and shops, in a quiet and picturesque neighbourhood. Handy to supermarket, Cafe, chemist, bottle shop, convenience shop, and takeaway food joint. Quick train or cheap uber to the city, plenty of on street parking. Love the back verandah and cute plants. Other guests were lovely, friendly and considerate too. Amazing chill vibe every time, shared bathrooms are self contained and spotless. Love the sink and fridge in rooms to keep personal water bottles cool. Cathy is so nice, personable and efficient (other staff we've met are lovely too!).

Can get warm in summer without air con in bedrooms, but the beautiful shade from leafy gardens, big windows, and fans provided do very nicely. Double brick building keeps it cool. It's not a drama.

All the staff were AMAZING. Thankyou tto Cathy and the staff for helping with my lost phone and keys from a crazy night out 😂 Will definitely be back! Great quiet spot ( in between the planes which were unnoticed soon enough) with a lovely little walk to train station, iga, chemist, takeaway. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean ( I have a cleaning business, so it is hard to impress me) Quiet during the day and night, parking in the block and 2 small parks nearby. Fantastic for singles, couples, families! Outdoor alfresco eating area and entry areas are filled with plants for a lovely experience for the price!

It's incredibly cheap compared to most other places in Sydney, especially when it's in such a great location (close to Stanmore which is a direct and short train line to the city, and walking distance to the center of Newtown). Parking free and unlimited on the street was a pleasant surprise, didn't find it hard to get a spot. The room was nice and facilities too. Would recommend.

The setup of how you get into your room is weird, but that's just a minor inconvenience.

The location is great, very close to the Stanmore train station and a few minutes walk to Enmore road with loads of cafes, bars, restaurants. The kitchen was huge and had everything you'd need to cook. There was a nice area to sit above the kitchen with nice plants and a view of the city. The sink and fridge in our room was really handy. Cathy on the reception desk was really friendly and let us check in early.

Our room was very hot and stuffy and the fan didn't do much to help. There are a few older guests who were staying there at the same time as us who seemed to be staying long term and acted like they owned the place. It's not really a social backpacker vibe hostel. I wasn't allowed to use the kitchen while it was being cleaned at 12:30 for half an hour. Seems weird to close the kitchen for cleaning at what I would consider lunch time..!

Staff is lovely! I wasn’t sure if I would make it before the reception left and they were still there which I was glad because they were lovely. Have a tour of the place All very clean. Beds were solid.. my back is sore, pillows not great. Room was smaller than the one in the photo Light wasnt very bright in room which was nice sometimes but getting ready was hard , felt bad getting ready in bathroom.

I came in very early before my check-in time because I had an early flight. Waited for the reception to open and Cathy showed me around. Oh Cathy made me feel welcomed and she even gave me laundry coins when I didn't have spare.

Not much. I've lowered my expectations because I know I will have roommate and we will be using common bathrooms/shower rooms.

Excellent place too stay manager was very nice I booked a bed in a 4 dorm room for 2 nights and manager upgraded me to a 2 bedroom dorm with just myself I asked if I could book other bunkbed for my partner and offered to pay extra but manager kindly said because I was honest and upfront about it she let my partner stay free of charge 😀 👍 very thankful and manager is very welcoming showed us around the place it's very close too the city and there's heaps of street parking..

I had a great stay at Cambridge Lodge for one night. Although the single room I booked wasn't available, the manager, Cathy, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She moved me to a two-bed dorm and even gave me a free refund for the inconvenience. The room was clean, and the location is fantastic—just a short walk to all the great restaurants and bars in nearby Newtown. I’d definitely recommend staying here for its excellent service and convenient location!
