I liked the room, everything was clean and the bad was really comfortable. The location was not in the center but near enough to walk in 30min to the center. But you have everything important (bus, train, stores for food) around the hostel. The stuff is always helpful and nice when you have a question.
There are many long-term living so at the start it’s not so easy to get to know people. But when you just start to talk than you find out they are always willing to get to know new people. So don’t hold back.

Amazing social garden outside, TV room is very social and everyone there is very friendly. All staff are friendly and some get involved in hostel activities such as boat parties. Cool street art around the outside areas. My bed had two sockets per person in a 12 man mixed dorm, fans in the room keep it relatively cool. Kitchen has loads of pans, pots, plates, bowls and cutlery for you to use. Washing machines and driers on site are great and easy to use as well. Very cheap price for anyone staying here at the value you get out of the hostel. The best atmosphere, couldn’t recommend it more to anyone backpacking who want to meet more like minded travellers.
Absolutely nothing

The female room is at the top, I had a pleasant stay, and everyone was respectful. It is quiet and the beds were okay. There are not many showers and restrooms available but enough for everyone. The staff was the best, super friendly and helpful! The female room also has a faucet and mirror and you can charge your phone at night.
The shower rooms can be a bit messy to use. Each "house" has one shower and bathroom on the 2nd floor and the rest are near the garden. It can be uncomfortable as there is no room to leave your shoes and sometimes the showers were messy with dirt and other stuff.

Clean rooms, clean kitchen, clean bathrooms Large common areas nice Tv room Lots of space in the dorms Everyone is very friendly Small events every days of the week Fair price compared to others hostels. 10/10, can hardly do better in terms of confort and cleanliness
Nothing, except for some roommates that were disrespectful but that’s not the hostel’s fault. I wasn’t a big fan of the location but it’s my personal opinion (not a city person) because you got everything you need at reach (woolworth, coffees shops, bus stations)

Central location and such lovely staff! I got upgraded from mixed to female only rooms. The receptionist showed me all the ammenities and facilities, before showing me where my room was. He was super friendly and helpful. The shared space were super clean, especially the food storage area! The hostel also hosts lots of events that you can attend to meet and socialise with other guests.
There were only 1 shower + 1 toilet for each side of the building that is shared between multiple rooms. There were more facilities down by the garden that you can easily walk to, so I cant complain too much

It's a beautiful old building just a short walk from most places like the train station, shopping centre and park. It was a relatively low price and nicer than anticipated being a backpackers. The people were nice and the facilities were decent. Deffinetly would stay again if I'm in Sydney
Bed was right next to the window, which faced the street, so it was bright and noisy. Wasn't the hostels fault just a personal thing, I probably should've gotten there earlier to choose a bed, but otherwise, it was a good experience

It is the best hostel that I stayed in during my trip, the reception team is very friendly, they helped me with all my concerns about the city, fast check-in, excellent service to leave luggage. The hostel stands out for its impeccable cleanliness, both the rooms and the bathrooms are fabulous, every day there is a program of activities, from training, free BBQ, nachos and the shared rooms are fantastic for meeting new people, common space to listen to music and watch series. I felt at home. Really highlighted the entire Staff of this hostel that each one of them is wonderful !!!
Everything was excellent, I wish that all the hostels in the world are like this and with such a magnificent staff !!!

I have always enjoyed staying at Secret Gardens. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the beds are comfy and have sockets next to them. There’s a lovely outdoors space and there’s a tv room which has Netflix and Amazon prime and Disney plus. They also do pancake Sundays which is great!! Plenty of great amenities for everyone. It’s the ideal hostel, it’s in the perfect location. It’s about a 5 minute walk from central station and the light rail. It’s an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone.

When i first saw the hostel it looked a bit rough on the outside thought what have i got myself into but as they say don't judge a book by its cover. When i walked through the front door to the front desk i couldn't beleive how lovely it was inside was greeted with a smile from the lovely staff who explained everything to me.I was showen to my eight bed all female accommodation to my suprise i was the first to stay there had the room to myself. They are renovating the property so everything is new and clean including the shower and toilet with lots of hot water. They have a lovely out door garden as the name says the Secret Garden and the best thing is it was the cheapest hostel in Sydney it is very close to Central Station and other public transport.I'am 68 years old a little bit fussy where i stay when staying overnight in Sydney i would recommend the Secret Garden to stay at you wont be disappointed the staff are just so lovely.
There wan't anything i didn't like. They had everything you need to stay at the hostel as i said they were fixing it up but didn't interfer as i spent most of my time in the city.i

Staff and people were lovely, bathrooms (toilets and showers) were always clean. Really nice vibe. Kitchen clean and plenty of pots pans etc. Dorms were nice with a sink in the room.
Was only an incredibly noisy fan in the dorm, no ac. Walk is about 10 mins from central once you know where you’re going, walk into the city was about 25/30 mins.
