We have been staying at The Palace since Doyle’s days as a pub .. 1980’s with our then little kids… Since Doyle’s we have watched it evolve, and we keep going back to what is my fave place in Sydney to ‘stop over’ … We do soooo much travelling around the world and it tops the warm welcome, wonderful enthusiasts staff. The rooms are spotless with fresh linens and such comfy beds, and it’s quiet. Just love my early morning walks and the cafes, also our must do every time is to catch the ferry to Circular Quay then out to Manly for fish n chips on the beach… Home to Watsons for an arvo chillout and drink, then out for dinner.. Anytime of day is gorgeous looking to the city and feeling grateful to be far away from the maddening mayhem !! Highly recommend 👌

Exceptional location, beautiful room a very peaceful and relaxing weekend. We loved that we could walk around the headland taking in the beauty of the harbour and the little beach coves. Free parking onsite we didn’t use our car at all over the weekend, we had the ferry on our doorstep and the amazing view of the city.

I don’t believe the Watsons Bay Hotel is a food destination, unfortunately it’s very average when it comes to pub grub. The continental breakfast which is complementary is underwhelming however it’s free and suffice.

Location is excellent. Ferry access is easy during weekends. Weekdays before 10 AM and after 4 PM, one needs to use the Rose Bay wharf or buses. Facility was clean and well looked after. We stayed in loft room, which is ideal (and rare to have) for families. Our room was cleaned and towels were changed every day during our 5 night stay without any issues. Staff is friendly and very respectful. One can watch the whales from the trail, which is about 200 mt away. Highly recommended.

Breakfast and the coffee is complimentary. However it could have one or two additional items like maybe cheese. You need to order something else if you want to have a proper meal at the start of the day.

The hotel is lovely and luxurious. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was great, the rooms were perfect with the most amazing view of the city skyline. The food in the hotel restaurant was impressive with lots of choice and kids meals. The hotel location is perfect for getting in and out of the city on the ferry and to be out of the hustle and bustle. The perfect location for families.

The lighting in the room could have been a bit better. No fan in bathroom.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to the ocean as well as to beaches, but in an area that is not crowded and where it's quiet at night. The public transport ferry is just in front of the hotel, so you can easily reach the Sydney downtown. Also, the hotel provides beach towels and bikes and a nice beach where you can swimm even when the ocean gets rough is nearby. The beds are fine and the bathroom is excellent, also the view from a balcony to the park next to the hotel is nice. The staff at the reception was very helpful and I am grateful to the hotel that they held my shirt and jacket that I forgot in the hotel room until I was able to come back to Sydney to pick them up.

We had a family room with two beds upstairs and next to this upper floor, outside on the roof, was some type of hotel climatization that run during the whole night, unfortunately making a noise in otherwse tranquille environment.

The property is in an amazing location with the ferry right out the front. In addition, there is free parking for guests which is great.

There was a wedding on the night of our first stay that played music until 11:45pm which was right below our room. If we had known that, we probably would have stayed elsewhere. It would also be a nice option to include toast in the breaky. We also had a very unpleasant welcome and further interactions with one of the front desk ladies, who was far from warm or nice to deal with. I think for what you get & what you pay for each night, it’s not 100% worth the money.

A beautiful hotel, fantastic views from our Harbour View room. Spotlessly clean, a very comfortable king size bed. A lovely and spacious room. Very close to the ferry terminal and bus stops. Friendly staff and just a great location so close to the city.

This is a venue hotel, so it was busy on the weekend we stayed. Both Friday and Saturday nights it was noisy until just after midnight and it did make watching TV and sleeping difficult due to the noise until around 12.30pm. Especially having a room at the front.

Hotel and facilities are at superb location. Room is big and comfortable. Restaurant at the sea side is nice. View is amazing.

Ask prior to your arrival if there are private parties being held in the hotel. If yes, reconsider whether this is the right spot for you to go. When we were there on Friday and Saturday there were like 5 private events. This means that public hotel facilities are not all accessible. It also means that music goes on into deep of the night and you won't get the sleep you might be searching for. Smaller non-likings were that when we had early breakfast the restaurant was not really clean, probably due to the party that had taken place. Safe in the room was not working. This is not a major issue, but reading the other reviews it becomes clear that this is a common problem. So maybe fix it?

Loved the detail in the rooms (cookies, tea, coffee) the Leif products, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful on reception.

The restaurant and bar. Staff here were extremely rude and ignorant which put a dampener on our stay when we were tired, hungry and looking for an easy meal after arriving with our child. I feel the accom is also a bit overpriced for what is essentially an upmarket pub however we booked a good rate so didnt mind. Our room also overlooked the bins and dumpsters which wasnt very nice.

The location was outstanding, Watson's Bay was definitely worth overnighting at, could have done another day. Rooms and amenities were amazing, other than the Terrace Room (111) above the dining room on Level 1 which had a sewerage like smell on the Terrace which was unusable, I would not book this room again. The exhaust coming from the Restaurant next door was also very noisy and also made the Terrace unusable.
