Hands down the pool was incredible. The rooms are a bit tired but having a balcony overlooking the poor was fantastic

We purchased extended checkout u til 5pm. At 11 we received a knock to check if we were checking out. Upon waiting in the lobby in the evening (12:40am! Flight) we were greeted harshly but a worker advising we were unable to lay on the say beds, that was fine but signage wouldn’t go astray, eating at the restaurant for a second night the waitress got our order incorrect we ended up purchasing the additional items and re-ordering.

Large Spacious Room. Comfortable Bed. Reception Staff were extremely Friendly and welcoming and rectified any issues related to my stay. Restaurant food was delicious, and the Rib Fillet was probably one of the best cuts of meat and cooked to perfection that I have enjoyed in some time with all my travels.

Only 1 lift operational, Room had no Shower Gel upon arrival, Air conditioner leaked on the second day and no hot water on the final night of my stay. All were rectified by the front desk staff who were very apologetic. Had to order meals from the Bar and then walk back to restaurant.

The staff are exceptional. The room was very comfortable well set out and very clean. The view was great. Location perfect..central to everything in the city and close to some great food places. The in-house breakfast spread was absolutely sensational. Fresh cooked multiple hot choices, and same for the cold selections. My kids thoroughly enjoyed everything which is a hard call to answer such fussy kids. I provided some maintenance feedback to the Receptionist who was very apologetic re the issues I noted and went above what I expected and as an apology waived the additional room charges we incurred during our stay which was very much appreciated. I will definitely stay in this hotel in the future and recommend it to all.

Unfortunately i noted some lack of maintenance issues such as the room air conditioning was not working properly and on inspection I noted the filters were totally clogged with dust and the internal fins were in similar state. I removed and cleaned the filters with instant cooling in the room. The same applied to the refrigerator with the freezer box 100 % iced up and unable to be used in such state. I moved the refrigerator to a suitable place and carried out a total defrost which cured the issue.

On arrival we were greeting by a lovely receptionist who informed us our room had been upgraded to a suite. How lovely! Internally, the galleria is just beautiful and resembles a tropical oasis. We opted for the prepaid breakfast and the selection was wonderful. Our room had a coffee pod machine and a selection of nice Twining teas (I am a big tea & coffee lover), so I was delighted. I had booked two rooms, one for a friend (we were all attending a concert), she was unfortunately unable to attend due to a tragic event (made the news). The Novotel staff were so helpful in showing me how to cancel her room and then they went above and beyond and waived her cancellation costs. A big thank you so much. I had requested a 'quiet' room because we are bush residents and are quite sensitive to 'urban' noise LOL. The room was wonderfully quiet. And of course, the Novotel is on the Darwin Esplanade so walking distance to the centre of town. Perfect.

Beautiful sized room, all the right facilities, great view, room was serviced promptly. Staff were friendly and the overall aesthetic was to my liking.

Only thing I would nitpick would be the shower head was stuck in an awkward position where you had to keep the shower curtain closed and they had recycle bins only instead of rubbish bins. But these didn't deter from a great stay.

Took a few days to get 3 towels for 3 people in one room, gave up on getting extra wine glasses and drink glasses. Notice in shower about allowing steam from shower to dissipate before opening door (& a $1200 fine if alarm goes off) would not hold up in court as there isn't a fan in the bathroom to help dissipate the steam.

The attitude of the staff. They were warm, friendly and helpful at all levels. Dealing with the travelling public can be challenging but the staff made it look easy. They also appeared to get along well with one an another. High morale is a great indicator of a well managed enterprise.

I would have to get very petty to find anything to criticise…

We really liked this hotel and stayed here 3 times during our holiday to Darwin area. Worth paying extra for sea view. Lovely rooms with good air con and facilities. The staff are very helpful. Lift to all floors. The hotel is around the corner from the shops and bars and ideal to explore Darwin.

The breakfast was overpriced and one of the most expensive during our stay in Australia and didn't have a great choice.

Great Location.Lovely indoor gardens in Foyer/Bar area. Comfortable bed.Offstreet parking.

Swimming pool is very small, no shade & basically all concrete surrounding it. The water wasn't very clear either. I've seen bigger pools in some houses.Breakfast was ordinary. Having to pay extra for off-street parking.

Payment was taken on checkin, plus $150 for incidentals. That amount appeared as paid on my bank account. on checkout, they did not routinely present me with an account to check the incidentals; I had to insist forcefully as they were instructed to save paper (very odd approach). They assured me that the initial payment had not been processed, although it appeared on my back account and proceeded to process an amount $40 higher ($1295) which was the total of accommodation and incidentals. As of today, 3 days later both charges have been deducted from my account and they keep assuring me that the first one will disappear, a terrible system, presuming that it actually happens.
