Perfect location for where we wanted. Even though it was an old motel - it was clean with majority of basics & friendly staff

The cost - we paid less at the Ibis Brisbane Airport with all the modern cons. However, it was Queens birthday weekend (Melbourne) & there were a few major activities on - plus it was the only accommodation available under $350. There is an old air conditioner but no fixed heating - they did have a small oil heater - although it didn’t do too much. I would have liked a few more basics like face washers, shampoo & conditioner - but they do supply small packs of soap … even if shampoo/conditioner were in wall units fixed to the wall if that was more economical.

We left it till late to find somewhere at the Gold Coast (close to Broadbeach) to stay for 2 nights and in peak school holiday period. Everything was either booked out or out of our price range. When i found the Classic in my search i was a bit dubious. 1960s rock block single story motel that i could remember back as a teenager. (i'm an old fart now) I was so pleasantly surprised when we got into the room. It was nice and clean, comfy bed and a awesome shower. Staff were lovely and helpful. There are only 8 rooms here so no crowds and you get off street parking in front of the room. It had everything we needed and a very good price for our two nights. It's right on the Coast Hiway but once we shut the door we couldn't notice it. Only 250 mts to the beach and a variety of shops only minutes walk away. I would have no problem going back there for another stay. It has a pool which looked clean and tidy but we never made use of it.

for the price you get a decent clean and serviced accommodation, other than the tv reception disappearing it was great

The building was strong and so the unit was warm, dry and cosy in the wet, cool weather. The staff were friendly. The air conditioner worked. There was carpet on the floor making it warm and welcoming. The curtains prevented the sun from seeping in so that some sleep could be had and privacy was provided. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen was provided. The shower was hot and the towels were provided along with cakes of soap. Air freshener was provided. Toilet paper was provided plentifully. Cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses and cups were provided along with a table to eat on just outside the door but undercover. Tea and coffee were provided. A fridge, microwave and tv were provided. Detergent and a sponge were provided to do the dishes. My unit could be easily accessed and so Uber Eats could deliver to my door. Security was provided by a chain on the door. There was enough room on the floor for my son to play. The motel was affordable ! The motel was on the main road and so the bus stopped just outside. There were lots of shops.

The heater didn't heat and a small fan heater may have heated better and been safer with a small child.

They were able to check us in at such late notice. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and close to all shops and restaurants.
