The Continental breakfast was very good, the cooked breakfasts were excellent. Nina was a wonderful cook and so gracious. I have gluten intolerance and she baked breakfast muffins that were suitable for me. Every morning with a Continental or cooked breakfast Nina cooked something different for all guests. Orana House and Gardens is a lovely period house built on a hill that looks over the Derwent River and the rooms are sympathetically furnished. Thank you Nina and Chad for making our 6 night stay enjoyable.

There wasn't anything to dislike

Nina was an exceptional host and the location was convenient to Hobart and beyond. The property itself was a gorgeous building that was oozing with history, which you could learn more about just by reading the welcome pack or exploring photos on the wall.

No real complaints. A cooked breakfast is at an additional price, which might be a bit unexpected for a property specifically advertised as a B&B. However, this didn't bother us at all. There were plenty of fruits, cereal, yoghurt, toast with spreads and tea & coffee included to enjoy, plus daily baked treats like banana bread or sausage rolls (which were delicious).

Absolutely loved this beautiful historic house which was a perfect base for our stay in Hobart. It's just a short walk to the waterfront at Lindisfarne, a beautiful area with some great walks. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, as was the rest of the B&B. There's a lovely large open fire, which is great to sit and relax by at night. Breakfast was a tasty continental one in the lovely dining room, which included some of Nina's delicious home baking. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay in Hobart, can't recommend it highly enough!

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the Apple and Walnut cake Nina made was lovely. The freshly baked sour dough bread was so good, I couldn't stop eating it. The home made yogurt was delicious. Nina was a lovely host and was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

When you have a great experience at a stay, it is hard to write a bad review. The only negative thing was that the TV was not connected to an external antenna, so you didn't get all the channels. Fortunately we could get channel 9 which meant we were able to watch the state of origin.

Our host, Nina, is so very pleasant and bakes new tempting items for each new breakfast. We had home made sausage rolls, hazel nut spread bread, cherry cake, scones complete with cream and jam. All this with a complimentary self serve continental breakfast with as many seconds as you want. Or you could buy a fantastic cooked breakfast and top up with toast and coffee. There is a washing and ironing service or we hand washed clothes for free and used the hotels washing line. Large formal garden out the front overlooks the river and Hobart bridge. Bedrooms are all beautifully decorated in keeping with the age of the house. All in all, a wonderful stay.

If only the hotel was less popular we could have stayed in one room for our entire stay but I left it too late and we had to switch rooms. My fault, not Nina's. However, it did mean we sampled 3 great rooms in one trip!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic house with a good size garden. The location suited us with easy parking at the property, close to a lovely cafe and walking distance to Simmons Park and the picturesque bay. We were met and looked after by Nina who was very welcoming and friendly, and provided us with a lovely continental breakfast including home baked bread and something sweet.

I hate to give any negative feedback because Nina did such a good job of looking after us. My only comment would be that the ensuite bathroom was very small and would benefit from being modernised, and the sheets and pillows were not as new or comfortable as they could have been - they were quite worn.

Really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful “house” (more like a mini mansion really lol), loved the ease of private 24/7 entry with the electronic locks on the front door. Nina was so welcoming and helpful. Including providing us with an extra early breakfast before we had to fly out. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. There was a very nice looking breakfast menu for those with more time than we had. Everything you could want in a continental breakfast though plus the softest and most delicious homemade brioche bread for toast - so delicious. The dining room is available 24/7 to make/bring meals etc in. Beautifully decorated with period furniture and appropriate fittings - don’t expect a generic city hotel. Lots of character here 😀 It’s very private and clean though, similar to a bigger hotel with each room having its own ensuite. There is also a lovely large communal lounge area to relax in - stocked with books, board games & cards etc You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time!

The house itself was on top of the hill with a nice view to the bay and surronded with the gorgeous flower garden! The room had the most comfortable beds ever and we loved the bed heating! Dining room had all the essentials for your convenience all day round and at breakfast Nina suprised us every morning with delicious bakes. Nina was very helpful and friendly! She helpes us organize a birthday suprprise for my husband. She even baked us cookies for the road with the most heartfelt note on the day of our departure. We felt pampered! Thank you!!!

Best thing was Nina and her delicious morning homemade breads. Also her bread pudding and fresh scones with jam and whip cream was delicious. Nina was a wonderful host that made sure your stay was comfortable. She even had a small dish of ice in the freezer she would fill for us to use in our drinks. The beds were great, room quiet, and curtains that made it nice and dark for sleeping. House has great charm, history and beautiful gardens.

Orana House is a delightful & very comfortable accommodation, exquisitely furnished and maintained. Our Friendly host, Nina, is so kind, professional and attentive. The Linda Pearce room was just lovely, with everything we needed, especially the spa bath! Convenient access to outside, as well being close to the breakfast room. Breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of options and we were also treated to some homemade delights. We enjoyed everything about our stay and hope to return soon!
