Location was great, and valet parking made access easier. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate at the Wharf restaurant where the food, staff and service were fantastic. Late evening bar was pleasant and staff friendly.

Our room overlooked the rear entrance and there was a lot of early moving noise, including bottles being emptied into bins, kegs being moved and laundry trolleys being collected in the early hours of the morning. We could have done with a spare blanket as we were a little cold in the middle of the night. The service in the breakfast restaurant was appalling. Orders not placed and meals received luke warm. After multiple attempts to attract staff and being ignored we left to get a 2nd coffee elsewhere.

Great hotel! Centrally located right on the pier in Hobart. Definitely the exact location you'd want to be as a visitor to the city!! Within walking / seeing distance of most of the best restaurant options in the city. Quiet and beautiful prospect on the water. Hotel decor is interesting and tasteful. Rooms are well-designed, substantially large, and well-equipped. The bathrooms in the regular hotel rooms are particularly big and beautiful. (The ones in the studios are more regular but still nice.) All rooms, including studios and hotel rooms have a mini fridge, teapot, Nespresso machine + pods, sink set-up, and kitchenette countertop space, which was handy. Hotel staff is fantastic and SUPER accommodating. Laundry service is efficient and excellent. In-hotel food options are quite good, too. Would highly recommend staying here.

The gym was small but adequate. It's the only thing I'd suggest improving, if possible!

The building, the art, the history, the room. Very much enjoyed the art and history tour/ talk. Staff were very good, friendly and helpful. The conversion of an industrial building to a hotel was fascinating - very interesting concept and architecture. Great location for exploring the city. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast. Slow service, eggs almost cold when arrived. Toast not warm and served without butter or jam. Suspect our breakfast had been waiting around for a while before serving. New member of staff? Pleasant but not up to the standard everywhere else in the hotel.

We loved our stay at the Henry Jones.. location and proximity to cafes, restaurants, tourist attractions was excellent.. it was quiet, clean and comfortable.. staff were unobtrusive ,polite and friendly.. would definitely stay again and highly recommend

We were travelling as a family group .. I booked 2(the same rate)rooms at least 3 months in advance.. and made 2 phone calls to check on booking ( 1 call was 2 days before arrival) .. I appreciate it’s a busy time of year but our rooms were on different floors and at opposite ends of the hotel … I presumed we would have been allocated rooms if not next to but near each other .. it made babysitting our grandson difficult..

We love the Henry Jones Hotel! It is quintessentially Hobartian/Taswegian! It is located right on the harbour and within walking distance of Salamanca and Brooke Street Pier where you get the MONA ferry as well as close to top class restaurants on Hobart's picturesque waterfront. It is a stylish and 'arty' hotel. Original art works line the corridors and it is well worth doing a gallery tour of them, they are wonderful. It is a small boutique hotel and the staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are stylish, spacious and comfortable. The hotel's Long Bar do wonderful cocktails too! Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is located in a historic precinct, tastefully reimagined out of an old convict built sandstone jam factory.

We can't always afford to stay here.

We have one of the LOFT studio (with sitting, kitchen, and bathroom / toilet below and the bed with another TV & air-cond/heater up-stair), and it was the best accommodation of our trip. The room is perfectly clean, the kitchen is well equipped with all sort of drinks (sparkling water, soft drink, juice, gin, whisky, vodka, wine...coffee, tea...even a traveller adapter and Panadol!!! - all at a price). The choice of movies (NEW and old) is fantastic - it will takes at least 10 days to finish with 24 hours continuous watching! In the bathroom, all towers are doubles (like for 4 persons, though it's a room for 2). At the ground floor are the lounge, bar, restaurant, and cafe (the breakfast was nice! & the manager a very easy going friendly person) and a big under-covered courtyard with lots of tables & chairs - there is also an art gallery. The location of the hotel is PERFECT for me, as my trip to Hobart is to try some nice foods around and take some photos. Also there is complementary valet parking for our car and was there ready in the morning when we check out - THANK YOU, GUYS!

Cannot think of any.

The character of establishment. So much interesting history and wonderful local art. The staff were inspired! Nothing was too much trouble. They were unruffled in very busy times especially the bar staff on Saturday night when a member had called in sick. Great jazz trio that night too. There is a terrific cafe in the atrium again with good staff. The location was perfect with lots of eating places nearby. My conference venue was just across the road. It was an easy walk to Salamanca, The MoNA ferry and town centre. The hotel was very quiet! There was a post wedding event happening in the atrium area that was inaudible in our room.

The shower floor surface could be a bit slippery for older folk.

We loved everything about this hotel! The deluxe room upstairs (2204) with waterfront view was enormous, and with a wonderful sense of history in the concrete walls and timber ceiling and heavy beams. The artwork throughout the hotel was stunning, including in our room. Beautiful modern bathroom with spa bath and the best shower ever … and the most comfortable king size bed. The service was second to none, everyone was friendly, helpful and smiling. Location was perfect, by the harbour front, and an easy walk to everywhere.

The only negative we could find, and quickly fixed by the lovely staff, was not enough heating. The room was very cold when we arrived and the aircon control would only go to a certain temperature, possibly due to the large size of the room. Problem solved by a large portable heater brought to our room, which together with the aircon, provided a lovely heat throughout our week’s stay.

We really enjoyed our stay the the HJ firstly because the staff really were wonderful! Very professional, thoughtful and warm, they really looked after us well. The hotel itself was delightfully decorated with a fantastic array of art in a fantastic restoration of a historic building, WE enjoyed the comfortable beds and well equipped rooms. The bar downstairs played live jazz and the cocktails were great. We ate at the in-house Peacock and Jones and it was the best meal of our whole trip and our NZ waitress was outstanding! We would like to try the other restaurants linked to the hotel next time. The location was really perfect and we had a room view of the docks which meant we spent time happily watching the goings on of this working port. The valet parking was brilliant and really added to our stay. We have already recommended the hotel to friends and family.

I would like more USB charge points in the room.

Thank you so much for the wonderful surprise of helping my friends have sparkling wine and flowers waiting in the room for me AND for spoiling me my for my birthday with an incredible room upgrade! I had the most wonderful time and the room was delightful.

My only problem to an otherwise perfect stay was small and honestly something that could have been addressed- I tried to use the spa bath but the button to active the jets didn’t work… I could have called to ask what was wrong/how to make it work but it was late so I just went to bed 😊
