What a neat hotel! This was apparently a former bakery and the reception interior is extraordinarily interesting! Our room was labeled 'Queen Room' online but it was in the former stables. Okay --- that didn't sound too appealing and when I saw the location (right off the parking lot which was right off the street) I was feeling a bit concerned when I checked in. But my concerns were fully unfounded: the room was blissfully quiet throughout the evening and the decor was very nice.

The shower stall would benefit from a little mold-spray along the grout lines; it's appearing a little dark. I wanted to let the front desk know, but we had left (checked-out) before they were open.

Great location in walking distance of CBD. Appreciated having a room that took 3 of us without needing a sofa bed. Quirky old building with stairs and passage ways all over the place. Rooms were bright, enough room for suitcases and good pressure shower.

Quite noisy overnight being at an intersection and where the main road goes off up the west side of the Tamar. There is double glazing but revheads liked to gun their engines right outside the window. Check-in times are quite tight, especially on the weekend but this did not affect us: just be aware.

Receptionist was professional and helpful. I requested an early check-in because I'm a pain in the a** and flew in early for work, and the gentleman upgraded my room ensure it was ready. The room was clean, well presented and offered all necessary amenities. But that's being very picky for the incredible value for money staying at this hotel was. The art was wonderful, and the sitting room was very comfortable. The courtyard was well kept and tidy. I would highly recommend staying here.

I personally wasn't a fan of the room lighting, as it was a single-sideways LED mounted on the wall.

The hotel had a quaint vibe to it, with many beautiful art pieces displayed in the corridors and an interestingly decorated lobby, hence living up to its name. The rooms were reasonable for an overnight stay, and the bathroom was of a good size and clean and the beds were comfortable. For future travelers to take note off, there are no lifts to the rooms on the second floor, but the staff would offer to help bring luggages up if needed.

Some furnishings, such as the armchair and carpets, could use some updating, as they looked tired and were worn out. The kettle did not look clean, and could not be opened to be washed. The wifi was quite slow.

Loved the location close to city: even though it was close to traffic it was light filtered noise ( except for the occasional loud car). The decor was dearlightful and old world charm. Fascinating history. Comfortable bed: very pristine bathroom convenience. Provision of basic tea and coffee nd milk included. Snacks and alcohol if you are so inclined. Left feeling refreshed and invigorated. Looking forward to staying again. Was pleased when given a extra nights accommodation when requested. Kudos to all.

Nothing to add here.

The hotel was once an old bakery and so has considerable history. The interior of the reception and lounge area is very appealing. Our room was very comfortable, and we found the location to be really convenient. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

The only improvement that could be suggested would be to provide an electrical power board to enable easier access to electricity sockets for the single bed. The existing wall sockets were tucked away out of reach behind the bed.

Art Hotel has a truly lovely ambience and a charming personal touch. The location is great and on the outskirts or walking distance to the cbd. And, there’s a good Cafe on the corner which does pastries on a Saturday! This hotel was so reasonable, even when I required a room upgrade for a remote worker to have privacy, it was no trouble when discussed, and the rate given was very fair for what we got finally.

Parking can be difficult if you have a larger car (suv?) but there is another carpark round the back, in a parallel street and you cut through the hotel to your room, so as long as you know this, it’s still fine. Also beware getting large suitcases (like I had) in the upstairs rooms, if that’s where you’re located. It’s a tough job, if you’re on your own with no muscle!

Close to city centre, on-site parking is available at the front and rear of building.

One of the receptionist staff that was working during the earlier shift made a mistake and checked someone into our room. As a result, when we arrived around 5pm, we had to wait for about 30-45mins for this to be solved and for the room to be ready again. The male receptionist that was on duty when we checked in helped to rectify the problem. We were honestly super tired by the time we arrived in the evening and just wanted to have a rest but mistakes do happen and at least the receptionist that attended to us was nice and he really tried his best to fix the problem for us.

Beautiful feel to the room (which was enormous)... old house with tons of character. The room with a poster bed was AMAZING! Although you kind of need to jump up into bed, it was fantastic. Location was close to town but there was no traffic noise, and parking was abundant. Your hosts are friendly and approachable, and for the most part, I couldn't ask for more ... except maybe an elevator for my wife's luggage lol

The ONLY irritant was the tv ... big and modern, but very bad digital reception meant most channels were almost unwatchable. The TV seemed to be a smart one, but the functions didn't really seem to work.

Charming old world boutique accomodation close to the city. Amazing 4 poster bed in an upgraded room. Light filled enclosed external verandah roadside ideal for meals or relaxing.

Without any external air flow the room was stuffy on a warm summer night. The air conditioner was probably more suitable for keeping the room warm on winter nights than cool on summer. Television did not have access to anything other than local tv. Very limited. Some grout missing from the floor in the entrance to ensuite was uncomfortable underfoot.
