Atmosphere was great. Quiet and peaceful. Easy all round.

The roof of that beautiful building needs urgent attention. Heavy moss growth and blocked gutters will lead to further damp problems, e.g. the balconies are dripping water from their roofs. I understand the logistics of such a concern, but it would be awful to see permanent damage done to that beautiful art deco building. Especially given the powerful history of all that went on. Next time in Beechworth I will definitely book-in again with you. I do recognize that roofs are expensive to build and maintain. Thanks again, Greg

Set in beautiful gardens, the owners have renovated the building in the art deco style with furnishings very sympathetic to this style. It was a pleasure to see this detail. Unusually there were 2 rooms: a sitting room & a bedroom, both extremely comfortable. One very big plus was the perfect bed complete with perfect pillows. It would be a pleasure to stay there again.

Staff need to be educated to report any maintenance issues immediately they appear. As we walked in to the room, the toilet could be heard continually flushing. My husband temporarily fixed it but it will need professional help.

amazing front of house service, was unexpected but very friendly, amusing, helpful, & welcoming 5/5 stars for the fellow who served us at the front desk. rooms were clean, crisp white sheets, fresh, great ventilation, loved the old details & architecture. remodeld & clean bathrooms retaining the art deco style. mini bar & fans in room. slept well. each room included a separate private lounge bar area in an adjoioining room. The linaker: giving a little "the Shning" in beechworth vibes including the long organge carpeted hallways with art deco lighting & creeky back door going out to the rear carpark. Approaching this old hotel gives a real impact as you drive up. loved our stay would stay again.

booked 2 rooms for 2 parents & 2 kids found out on arrival that the rooms were not adjoining nor even on the same floor, which was a surprise with children listed on the booking. to be fair we book the night before & the hotel was booked out. after discussing the matter with my husband we concocted a plan to see if we could transport a mattress from 1 room to the spare lounge area in room 2 for our girls to sleep on. the front of house was more than happy to accomodate our request & very helpful in moving the mattress with my husband. The girls were happy as can be & thought this was a great adventure.

Our family stayed overnight in a family suite (queen + single + sofa bed). The host was cheerful, friendly and very helpful. The bedding was clean and comfortable...the heating made the room warm and cosy. The bathroom was well stocked with all the expected toiletries, and the tea-making amenities were more than adequate to suit our needs. The motel was really handy in location to the township and all the historic attractions, including our tour of the Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum.

Nothing to really complain about...To be picky, the towel rack in the bathroom was a bit worse the wear. I took the towels off the rack, because my kids can be a bit heavy handed and I didn't want it to come completely off the wall !

Was in a great location with just a 15 min walk to the centre of town. This gave the benefit of being so quiet. The staff/manager was so friendly and happy to help. It is a bit of an older property, but that is part of the charm and history of the building. Would definitely stay there again.

The only downside was the wifi was not working, but being out in rural Victoria can cause that problem. But we made due by using my mobile hot-spot to watch movies on my laptop at night. We were not there to sit in the room all day/night so didn't bother us.

I liked the experience of staying at the motel and knowing the history how friendly and helpful the staff were and how affordable the stay was my mum highly recommends this motel why it doesn’t look like a fancy motel it’s one stay she says she will always remember.

Nothing to do with the motel cause my mum loved her weekend away and has said she will come back but my mums electric toothbrush kept turning on without warning even after she would turn it off very spooky so I’d say there are definitely spirits in the motel

Characterful art-deco former nurses home in the grounds of old asylum, conveniently located to (music festival) venue. Although perhaps a litlle dated the room was comfortable and clean and 'Deano' at reception went out of his way to ensure a pleasant stay.

At just over $250/night possibly a little over priced for the quality and condition but price may have been elevated due to a lack of accomodation in the area as there was two festivals running in town over the same weekend.

The room was nice, & clean with breakfast included. Breakfast consisted of a variety of cereals with breakfast, milk bread to toast, butter jams & Vegemite. Room also had a toaster & microwave in it. Bathroom was clean & loved having large bath towels to use.

The rubbish bin needed to be emptied as we were for 2 nights. And spare pillow in the room would have been nice. I found it too dark out the front when you were walking in main entrance at night, luckily I had torch to light the way.

Was extremely large living space for four people, two rooms and large bathroom, compared to usual motels / hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Had to use sofa bed for fourth person, which wasn't very comfortable and was in the middle of the main room blocking the entrance to the door and bathroom. No air-conditioning so was a little hot at night trying to sleep.

I loved the huge room, it was very clean and comfortable. Some may think it's dated but I loved the style! The bath was nice and spacious with relaxing jets. It was also nice to hear some facts about the motel during the Asylum ghost tour as I didn't know it was the nurses dorm!!

Mildly disappointed that there weren't some DVDs available for the DVD player.
