This accommodation is the best in its class in the Inner North. It's perfect for couples wishing to explore/dine/drink in Collingwood and Fitzroy (particularly Gertrude and Smith Streets) and is only a few stops from the city on the 86 tram. My partner and I visit regularly and think this will be our new regular in Melbourne. The room was comfy, modern and clean and extremely well-lit with natural light (proper curtains to sleep in)

Two gripes. The bathroom, while modern and clean. does not include a door/curtain for the shower. It was impossible to prevent water spilling into the rest of the bathroom when showering. However, nothing a towel can't fix, and reception offer new towels at any time. Secondly, while there is a common area, most rooms do not have a fridge. Not essential, noting there is a communal kitchen area, but sometimes convenient and there is space.

Very neat and fresh place. Easy check in and check out experience, assisted by 24hrs available friendly staff. Free Wifi was good. Bed was super comfy and room was nice and quiet. I need to find out where they got their blankets from so I can get some for my own home! Amazing location, very close to main tram lines, and the bars, restaurants, cafes, and shops in Collingwood and Fitzroy. There's a fantastic cafe right next door, worth checking out.

The bathroom is in the room, enclosed by frosted glass walls, which is a little weird. Not much privacy if you need to use the toilet or shower. It also doesn't have natural ventilation so you need to keep the exhaust fan on to clear out the steam/smells. There's no separation between the shower and the rest of the tiny bathroom, so everything gets wet when you shower. Not too annoying for a short-term stay though.

It was my second time to book in this hotel so I already knew what I was going to receive. I enjoyed my stay there, the bed is comfy and the toilet was great to use. I also enjoyed the free access to the kitchen. This hotel would always be one of the better options when I plan another stay in Melbourne.

None that is pretty serious. I guess the distance of my room and the elevator, hahaha. I think one concern that I have was the housekeeping coming in to my room to sort things out nice and clean. I forgot to request at main desk to leave my room be but anyway, I appreciate that the bed was made and the trash was taken out. I did not like the Melbourne weather actually but that is not something the hotel can control, LOL!

The 24 hour staff at reception was such a nice touch. I booked and arrived very late at night so was great being greeted by friendly staff. It felt like a bit of a college campus bc everything was so alive and happening. I loved getting a herbal tea late one night when I got back in. The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful. Absolutely exceeded expecation.

My room (302) had paper thin walls unlike anywhere I had ever been to, ever. Unfortunately that meant I got woken up twice - once by the lets say, "passionate encounters" happening right next door. I heard way way way too much from both involved. yuck. Also, at 5am maybe the same couple, had to leave and so were very loudly chattering and woke me up. I banged on the wall and they took their farewell outside, but were so loud Im sure they woke everyoen up with their goodbyes and laughter at 5am.

Clean room, friendly staff, big common kitchen and they also servea long term rent for students

Location is a bit far, 30min walk to cdb but there are tram line to catch. Room is quite small and compact comparing to a lot of spacious common spaces they have designed in the hotel. Unpacking 02 of our 20kg suitcase then there mo more space to walk in the room. No kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Hot water, tea and coffee is only availble in shared pantry. No sleeper and i could see my friend showering from outside. What a design!

I stayed for three nights (in July 2024) in a room type termed “One of a Kind”. The queen bed was super comfortable. I could stay there and sleep for hours. Although the room for small, it was ideal size for what I needed, the price I paid, and it ideal for my stay. The room and hotel in general were extremely clean. From inside the room, it was also quiet; I could not hear any noise through the walls or outside. The common spaces: kitchen, reception, sitting areas were clean and comfortable. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, although I did not require it (as my phone had plenty data). They also have a late check out until 11:00hr, although I was up early on my last day. Within my time there, I interacted with 6 different staff members. Each one was approachable. The hotel is located within walking distance to many tram lines that will take you to Melbourne CBD and St Kilda (20-30mins ride) and other locations. Located to bars, restaurants and close to groceries such as Coles and Woolworths.

Everything. This hotel is not formal but casual in the nicest way. The ground floor foyer is a nice, light, spacious area with seats and tables where you can work if that takes your fancy. There are kitchenettes on every floor and a big, fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor with a nice outdoor seating area which even has a herb garden. Our room was small but comfortable with a lovely big window. The location is great, on the edge of the cbd. There are free bikes available.

The stay was lovely, Room was awesome, Very very clean,Staff were nice,We stayed 3 nights,Security is fantastic, requiring a Security card, for entrance,to lifts & rooms!2 seperate rooms & 1 shared kitchenette, plates,cutlery, cups,etc included 😀 Microwave in kitchenette (,No kettle or Toaster)Next time I will take our own kettle, although, they provided 1 on request 😊,We will be returning, to room 251,We loved it,The only down fall,was no ashtrays,outside for us smokers,Apart from that,We WILL BE RETURNING, RATING 10/10

Loved the laundry room. After 15 days on a cruise ship we really needed to do laundry and I was not looking forward to wandering the streets looking for a place. Kitchen and eating area very handy and cost saving. Giant TV for watching tennis was fun!

As a couple of a certain age, we found the bed, elevated and against the wall, a bit awkward to get in and out of. Dodgy knees and old bones made the extra effort hard work! I’m not sure all your rooms are set up the same or not.

Gorgeous hotel, well decorated in a very modern, Melbourne style. We had a double room, which was surprising (in a good way) as I was expecting to all be in one. This meant plenty of space for a family of 4, although the rooms are compact. Small outdoor space off our room was nice to sit and have a glass on a warm winter evening. Great open space at reception with TV and desks and tables to work or read at. Next door to a fantastic cafe, a few minutes from the tram and near many great Collingwood and Fitzroy restaurants. Staff were excellent, charming and helpful and patient with my kids hanging around watching the Olympics! We only stayed one night as we were just popping in to the city to see some shows, but would highly recommend Lyf.

Nothing really, it's a great spot and well priced particularly as many of the city hotels were 400+ on this night.
