Friendly, helpful staff, friendly accepting fellow clientele.Close to transport & city facilities.Love the old "monastery" vibe!

Possibly some dorm spaces could be cleaned more attentively as in one of the dorms there was a build up of detritus.This is also down to guests being not attentive to their own spaces as well.Not a huge negative,just a backpacker anyplace malady.

Excellent location, nice aesthetics and informal atmosphere. Bit of an early evening party vibe, but it tended to be quiet by 9 or 10 pm most nights. Room was very nice; shared bathrooms adequate. Shared kitchen is too small for the guest numbers. Overall a great place to stay if you don't mind sharing spaces.

Looks and feels as if a lot of care and thought has gone into turning it into a hostel from whatever it's previous use history has been. Loved the high ceilings, and plentiful number of toilets. As a couple who are older than most of the guests, and hence we turned in for bed earlier, the noise curfew was appreciated, and seemingly well adhered to by the guests. At least those who were there during our stay. The Tram stop, almost out the front door, was really convenient.

The mess, food and drink containers mostly, the guests left in the common room seemed a poor form to view the next morning. But that is not the Nunnery's fault, and was well cleaned up each day when we returned.

Ideal location for getting about Melbourne on foot and by tram. The staff were super friendly & accommodating. The building is gorgeous, with great outdoor areas to relax & mingle. It felt like a great big share house with a laid back vibe & the guests were friendly & open to meeting new people!

Showers, very hard to get the temperature right. Squeaky bunkbeds & not enough storage in the bedrooms. Kitchen facilities a little lacking & a few too many mice in the bread!

Place was in ideal location. People and staff are friendly. Plenty of social events planned and you have the opportunity to go to quiet spots if necessary to work

The beds were creaky and squeaky. The rooms can get quite stuffy if the windows aren’t open. Try to avoid the rooms near the front of house as they can be a nightmare to get to sleep with all the noise from people smoking outside and people socialising in the lounge room

It was in a great location with easy access to everything that we needed. Check-in/out was really helpful because we didn't feel like we had to be rushed to be there at a certain time. Lots of helpful and friendly people around, and it was great for what we needed.

Got a little loud at times, but that was to be expected.

I loved the old ambiance of the place; the staff were very friendly, and the bathrooms were super clean.

Some guests shouted late at night, making it difficult to rest and feel comfortable. The cabinets in our room were dusty, the carpets and common areas could have been cleaner, and we found the key card challenging to use with the door.

The location of this hostel is superb! So close to Melbourne museum and lots of cool bars and shops just a ten minute walk away. The four bed female room was lovely and spacious with lots of drawers and huge wardrobe, plus some small lockers suitable for small valuables like passport and purse etc. The staff at reception were super helpful and let me check in hours before I was expecting.

It's been said before.. but the kitchen really is tiny - I underestimated how small it actually was until I saw it myself, plus it closes at 10pm. Also, there's no lift to get up to the top floor (understandable as it's an old nunnery haha), so if you have heavy luggage, it may be worth requesting a room on the ground floor if available! :)

The location is great, and the single rooms are always clean and cozy. Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

One of the showers was really difficult to get to a warm temperature/probably needs fixing.

Great location; fine old building

Nowhere to sit in the eve that wasn't noisy. When it rained and everyone came in from the courtyards, it was really rocking indoors. Some of the bigger dorm rooms partied quite late and sometimes the parties spilled out into the shared hallway/stairwell (2 nights of the 6 I was there, i.e.midnight and 3 a.m.)
