Atmosphere of the hotel was very friendly. Rooms were very clean and the decor was really quirky and romantic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel was very central and close to metro and lots of lovely restaurants and high street shops. It was about 15 min walk to Grand Place/ Central Station. The pool was lovely too. Open bathroom was a very quirky touch especially for a romantic holiday. Beds were pretty comfy. Would recommend staying here for a romantic couples getaway.

The walls (and ceilings) were a bit thin as could here the guests stomping above up at night. There was no full length mirror in room "Blanche 309" but it wasn't the end of the world. No Aircon but fans provided in the rooms. The bar was not manned everyday so if you wanted an evening drink there was no one really available. Nothing to do with the hotel, but be aware that nearly everything, including pharmacies and convenience stores, close on a Sunday and for religious holidays so buy water, snacks, and any other bits you might need on a Saturday.

Love how strange the hotel is! Historically fascinating! The staff were very helpful and happy to aid in anything we needed. My husband and I found the bathroom peeking window very entertaining, not in the way the original guests did, I imagine! the surrounding area was great as well and had some lovely bars and restaurants. Breakfast was very worth the money as well, yum!

If I had to say something, it was a bit noisy in the area at night. Not so bad that I couldn't sleep though. Not much the hotel can do about that! But if you are looking for something in a quiet area this might not be the one for you.

I would recommend this hotel for singles, couples or families. The staff are very helpful, hotel and location are great. After booking my room, I read what some people have said in regard to the breakfast and was thinking I would need to find somewhere to eat and use earplugs to sleep. I am very happy to say those people were wrong, totally wrong. For example, there was a selection of fruit juices and cereals, Croissants and bread, sliced meat and cheese, boiled or fried eggs, with coffee or tea. Served from around 07:00 – 10:00, I didn’t, but I’m sure a guest could go back for more food if they wanted. As for street noise, my room was quiet, and that was a room on the second floor at the front of the hotel. The room was also very clean, and great pressure in the shower. Sure the room was a little on the small size, but there was still plenty of room to move around, even with a comfortable double bead in the room. (NOT 2 single beds pushed together like some other hotels use. But lets be honest here, it’s Brussels, who's going to spend much time in the room with so much to see and do, the hotel is close to the Grand Palace de Brussels, and the Mannekin Pis, along with several museums like the Emblematic agora and Experience.Brussels all being around a 20 minute walk, even the Choco-Story Brussels, is within walking distance.

I do not have anything negative to say about the Hotel Le Berger. I never give 10/10 for anything, as I believe there is always room for improvement, Having said that, I would be happy to give the staff and hotel 9/10.

The location was great! It's on a relatively quiet block, but in the middle of a big shopping/restaurant area. It is also close to a metro station that connects to the main train terminal. The room is no frills, but perfect for what I needed. The bed is pretty comfortable and great water pressure in the shower. Also there's an elevator which was so helpful for my luggage!

There is a Burger King on the corner of the block where this hotel is, so on the weekend, there was a lot of trash on the street and the occasional smells from people out drinking. However, my room was on the 3rd floor and it was still not noisy considering.

This hotel is a living legend, and its history was very well respected during the restoration. You also stay here for the stories associated with the hotel. It's a unique experience. Breakfast is very good. The pool is also a plus.

Unfortunately, the "sleazy" side of the hotel is slowly creeping back due to poor maintenance and cleaning. The rooms are clean, but the public areas are not. Sticky tables and such.

Yes, the rooms are small, and I did not upgrade to a larger room, and I was happy with what we had. The elevators are very small, and really only big enough for one person and luggage, but there are two, so not a issue. The bar seems to be a place young adults like to hang out with friends, it was very vibrant Saturday night, and even though we were tired from travel, we just had to go downstairs to have a drink. Breakfast was very good. As to the location, we were only there one full day, and we went to Antwerp to visit a friend.

There was nothing I didn't like, if someone wants a hotel with more room, more modern, they should look somewhere else, but they will miss all the charm of this hotel.

Our room was a nice and quiet Maisonette Room. The staff at reception was super friendly and very helpful. The Breakfast for 14€ was well worth the price and it had great variety and great quality. The location is great for a city trip, very close to the metro. There is a busy shopping street nearby, but the street of the hotel itself was very quiet.

The lights in our room just randomly switched off from time to time. Also the bathroom did not have a window and therefore had some mold stains on the ceiling, but was otherwise very clean.

The beds were comfy, I could choose between a soft and a hard pillow, I enjoyed the heated pool very much, interesting history of the hotel and old charm. Very friendly staff as well. The garden area is very pretty and the pool is small but nice. Great location too!

I wish the pool were open longer, and the walls were thin, one could hear people talking on the corridor. The hotel is probably not the best match for people who wake up from their sleep easily. But it wasn't very noisy either, just some guests talking.

I recently stayed at a hotel for the second time and I must say, I was impressed overall. The hotel scores a 9 out of 10 in my book. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable bedding and modern amenities. The staff was courteous and helpful, always ready to assist with any needs. However, there was one area that could use some improvement and that was the breakfast. On both of my stays, the breakfast options were limited and not very appetizing. The food was often stale and unappetizing, which was a letdown after an otherwise fantastic stay. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this hotel for its overall excellence, but with a recommendation to improve the breakfast options. A good breakfast can make all the difference in starting the day off on the right foot, and I hope the hotel takes this feedback into consideration.

a quirky hotel with a lot of history and character at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very varied and good value. excellent powerful shower. Comfortable bed and pillows. Our room fronted the road, but this road is little used and generally quiet as was the hotel (perhaps we were lucky). Pleasant 20min walk to Grand Place (although uphill on the way back) and close to metro station, that is four stops to The Gare MIDI (Eurostar).

Perhaps not to everyone’s taste and perhaps has shortfalls, but for us perfectly adequate and loved it and would come again.
