The hotel is in a great location, right on a canal, a couple of minutes walk from Korenmarkt, but also very close by the cobbled streets of Prinsenhof/Patershol. Also just 1 mins walk to Gravensteen tram stop. My room had a balcony overlooking the canal, and a lovely bathroom with a freestanding bath. Lighting/ temperature control was all state of the art. The breakfast was fab - a sizeable buffet of hot and cold dishes (salmon, cheeses, waffles, eggs, bacon, pastries, yoghurt, fruit salad etc) and cava was included. Best thing of all though was the staff, who were all super-helpful and friendly. I was especially grateful for the fact that I was able to change my booking last-minute due to the Eurostar delays over the festive period, even though I had gone past the official booking amendment window, and at no extra cost - thank you so much for allowing that. Hard to think this place could be bettered tbh.

One small thing - some of the rooms have twin beds which are pushed together if you request a double, so just be aware of this. Would not stop me staying again though.

Loved the location, everything is at perfect walking distance! Staff was very friendly! Always an 'have a good day' or ' good evening' when we arrived or left. Breakfast was all one need with even an waffle or American pancake option.

For a hotel that charges 200+ a night at our stay and having a 4star sign allot of things in the room could be better! The room needed an overall maintenance, with paint coming loose, tiles broken, jacuzzi that needs a good and deep clean,no working mini bar, glas panel missing at the closet etc... The electronic panel which controls the bathroom lights, temperature etc..didn't switch off its lights. Which was very annoy during the night! The mattress had it's best time too. If you have a drink at the bar make sure that you keep track of it. As we almost got charged double for ours as staff during our bar stay kept changing constantly.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very large room and bathroom. Excellent choice and quality for breakfast. Excellent location, on a canal, close to city centre, but quiet, with many good restaurants and cafes within a few minutes' walk. Tram stops 2 minutes away, with direct 15 minutes connection to Sint Pieters train station.

Air conditioning heater was located on the wall opposite the foot of the bed - a draft could be felt coming down the wall directly onto the head of the bed. I ended up sleeping curled up further down the bed to avoid getting a stiff neck. Bathroom, while large, was a wet room, which I personally do not like.

Lovely little hotel in a great location, shops and tourist sites a short walk away, pleasant and helpful staff, really good breakfast buffet. Rooms in the main building were lovely, convenient, and updated with USB access

Because of an error making reservations on my part, we were moved on our second night to rooms in an annex behind the main building that you have to reach by going outside. The rooms there rooms were outdated--no USB ports, no security locks on the doors, a huge 80s style bathtub with the shower, TV in the bedroom was tiny and tucked above a closet. And curiously enough, they're more expensive than rooms in the main building! (Go figure) I'd suggest making sure your reservation does not have you booked in the annex. The regular rooms are wonderful.

Great location and with many added luxuries this is definitely one of the better places to stay in this beautiful city

Location was exceptional and the hotel was clean and modern. Staff generally very helpful and friendly. We opted for the Exclusive Double Room With River View, and the view was fabulous.

On our last day we asked for a late check out, only by an hour or so, and primarily because the service at breakfast had been slow. I can't remember exactly how much we were told the charge would be, but I remember it was laughable considering the room rate and we only wanted a little extra time. Also at breakfast the cooked to order dishes consisted almost entirely of egg dishes, and on one of the mornings we were told there were no eggs, so breakfast was a little light that day.

Prime location, train stops very close by, bike rentals everywhere, and the Bloemenmarkt was right outside our front door. Cafes and restaurants very walkable. The room was exactly as portrayed in the listing, and it was very comfortable. The laundry machines were a great bonus. Our flight was earlier than check-in, and management was kind enough to allow us to drop our bags early while the room was cleaned from the prior guests. That meant a lot to us since we had large bags with us for our extensive stay.

I guess the outdoor balcony/terrace space could be spruced up a bit with some plants or decor of some sort? But the weather was a bit hectic and we were out and about so much that we didn't even really care to utilize it. The room was exactly what we were looking for; I don't think it could have been any better other than that!

We stayed in the room overlooking the canal and it was beautiful and roomy ! staff is very helpful, location is great ; walking distance to everything but quiet at nighyt, breakfast is great and bountiful! We were fortunate enough to have great weather so we enjoyed cooling off in the pool. Would definitely stay here again

our room was located on the second floor and im not sure wether there was a family room above us but we were hearing people running and moving chairs very early all morning. Nothing that the hotel can do about it but maybe for light sleepers get a room on one of the top floor .

Beautiful property! We just finished a 2 night stay and it could not have been more pleasant. The hotel is housed in a historic building right on one of the main canals in Gent and the views from our room were simply stunning. The room we originally booked was unavailable so we were upgraded into a luxury suite with a balcony and canal view. The staff was so kind and helpful and really added a level of luxury we weren't expecting. The breakfast was incredible and this is one of the view properties we found with a rooftop pool which we fully enjoyed ever day after walking around town. Incredible location, staff and comfort. Five stars!

Everything was great.

The views, facilities and cleanliness. Staff were friendly enough, although when we arrived an hour early and the room wasn't ready, they said it would be ready "around" the time we were officially due to check in, or half an hour late. Would expect it to be ready on time, even if not early.

Their booking chat was hacked, and as a result we paid the cost of the reservation to hackers. I was very surprised that the hotel didn't mention this when we checked in. I asked about the progress of the case, and they said it was being looked into and was "very bad", but they didn't ask whether we were affected. I did expect they would do something even as a small gesture, like free late checkout, or free drinks. I also would have liked a double mattress for such an expensive room, rather than two single mattresses joined together. This wasn't massively comfy.
