The staff were so lovely and accommodating. They were so caring towards us when we had any difficulties and the cleaning staff always did such a good job of clearing the room. The rooms were also such a decent size and we couldn't believe the luxury for the price.

The location wasn't always best. You need a tuktuk or motorbike to get around but the staff can help you get these which is great! Only issue was the address is on Google maps but not on grab maps so you had to make sure you were ordering to the right place when you wanted to return home.

The building has been around since 1960, and it does live up to its name. I got a family room, but I wasn’t expecting my family room to be two separate rooms with a shared bathtub, shower and toilet! It was huge! The breakfast was plenty.

Even though there aren’t a lot of restaurants nearby, I found it doable. I took a tuk tuk around, so this was not a big issue.

Loved my stay here! The decoration is amazing, and it really gives you the vibe that you're in Cambodia. The room I stayed in was quite big, the bed was big (I think it was a king-sized bed), a bit hard but comfortable. The bathroom was big, too, and it included a bathtub, which was awesome. Laundry service was really good, one day turnaround, the clothes smelled nice and came back packed VERY tightly in a bag, which was very helpful with fitting everything nicely in my suitcase on my way out. Breakfast was good, eggs, fruit, and a couple of side options, which changed every day. The restaurant bar is open till 8 pm, with good options there. Prices seemed similar to those downtown. The hotel is located outside of the main tourist area around Pub Street, but it is not far away and it is easy and cheap to get there. A tuk tuk will take you there in 5-8 minutes for 2 dollars or less. Honestly, there are not that many things within walking distance of the hotel, but there are a couple of convenience stores, a small supermarket 5 or 6 minutes away by foot, some atms. The staff were all amazing, without exception! Always smiling and ready to help you out.

Not a lot, except maybe that my bathub's drain stopper wasn't closing properly, so the bathtub wouldn't fill in. I put some cheap tape whenever i took a bath, and it solved it.

Cheap but beautiful place! Helpful and friendly staff at the reception, quiet location, nice swimming pool in a beautiful spot, big rooms, huge bathtub, beautiful design of the place with red color, and green views from the both sides (in my room were two doors to each side, but there are also more beautiful rooms in other area, without a door/window to open space).

-the breakfast is too simple & hotel’s restaurant is too pricy -the location is a few km away from the center so you need to drive a motorbike or you need a TukTuk all the time - the a/c in my room was old so also on temperature 28-30 c it was very cold so I was turning it on or off all night long, because it was directed to the bed. The staff at the reception helped with a huge fan but it was too massive with a strong blow, so I couldn’t use it at night instead of the a/c

On the morning I was due to arrive in Siem Reap city centre , hotel saff had already sent me an email making me feel welcome before I got here. When I arrived in town late afternoon, (on my birthday) I was astonished to be picked up at the bus terminal by a tuk tuk arrangand by the hotel and also absolutely speechless in what I found in my room when escorted personally by the Manager Mr. D carrying my bag for me. All of the staff Tha, Srey, Phan , Ravy , the cleaners, the Chef, the gardner are all truely WONDERFUL . I am greeted with Smiles , laughs, waves and Som Pas every morning and every evening. If there is a better place for me in Siem Reap I have not found it, I have looked and I have changed my travel plans to stay longer , here at Resindence 1960.

Nothing the Hotel is Great. I am a reserved, quiet person, a senior solo traveller. Residence 1960 is perfect for me as I like to walk , I like peaceful and quiet places and somewhere I can experience the local culture, residences and Cambodian life respectfully. If a pub street lifestyle is more your preference, there are a lot of alternatives closer to the centre of town.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They always greet you with a big smile and go out of their way to ensure you’re having an enjoyable stay. Dalin in particular was amazing. She helped us plan out our week and figure out how to bus to Laos after. Mr. Ra, our TukTuk driver arranged through the hotel, was also fantastic. We did the three day tour of Angkor Wat with Mr. Ra and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC works very well. We loved using the big bathtub after a long day of walking. The pool was also a fantastic feature. The hotel is in a great area, as it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the Old Market and Pub Street. Finally, nothing could beat the buffet breakfast (2 warm dishes, sugar donuts, croissants, toast, buns, 2 types of fruit, plus coffee and tea). We were very sad to leave here and would 1000% recommend to anyone to stay at Residence 1960. You’ll be so happy you did.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Cambodia! The rooms were spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed the swimming pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Though it was much smaller than we expected. The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced, making dining here a good choice. The location was ideal for us—just a short 6-minute tuk-tuk ride to Pub Street. It was close enough to enjoy the vibrant nightlife but far enough to have peaceful and quiet nights without any disturbances. Overall, we recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!

Very lovely small hotel with a real open snd welcoming atmosphere. When entering the hotel there a corridor leading directly to the reception which is richly decorated with greenery and small waterways on both sides. You don't even feel like being in the middle of the city. There is simple yet beautiful Cambodian furniture inviting you to sit in the lobby. The pool provides a great way to beat the heat. The small breakfast buffet offers 2 types of bread and pastries. You can get individually made omelets or scrambled eggs. You will find 2 types of fruit which change every day. Then there are also varying warm local dishes. Thank you for the wonderful memorable stay there! Best regards

Cannot recommend enough! The staff were absolutely brilliant. We were provided with a welcome drink and wet flannel upon arrival which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travelling! Our room was beautiful - large bed, very spacious bathroom with a HUGE bath & loved the outside seating area, a very nice touch. We were provided with everything we needed, and housekeeping came daily unless we decided otherwise. They always did a fantastic job. We had lunch here and the food was delicious too! They offer so many services including their range of treatments at the spa, tours, taxis, and even a cooking class! Cannot fault this hotel. Thank you so much for having us. A must stay when visiting Siem Reap!

Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure a good stay. The room was very clean, great value and location was close to Angkor Wat (20 mins by tuk tuk) and only 5 mins by tuk tuk from the main streets. The restaurant's local Khmer cuisine (recommend the chicken curry, fish amok and the fresh spring rolls) was delicious and decently priced with huge portions.

Some things could do with improvement - addition of some house slippers, a shower caddy (nowhere to hold items) and having doors for each room for privacy would improve the experience. We also got a room which required climbing a lot of steps which was a bit difficult for my parents.
