Ideal location a short walk from amenities and attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful with spacious bedrooms and a large bathtub! All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We also managed to enjoy the outdoor pool.

Although the breakfast buffet was plentiful, there wasn’t much by way of vegan options, besides fruit, toast and jam. The room we had was lacking in daylight, due to its positioning - the main window was overlooking a hallway and the bathroom was overlooking the neighbours courtyard. Nothing anyone can do about it, but just something to know before booking.

The staff were so lovely and accommodating. They were so caring towards us when we had any difficulties and the cleaning staff always did such a good job of clearing the room. The rooms were also such a decent size and we couldn't believe the luxury for the price.

The location wasn't always best. You need a tuktuk or motorbike to get around but the staff can help you get these which is great! Only issue was the address is on Google maps but not on grab maps so you had to make sure you were ordering to the right place when you wanted to return home.

Everything ! The location, the rooms, the breakfast, the staff. It’s a really cute hotel only 15min walk from the city of Siem Reap.

The building has been around since 1960, and it does live up to its name. I got a family room, but I wasn’t expecting my family room to be two separate rooms with a shared bathtub, shower and toilet! It was huge! The breakfast was plenty.

Even though there aren’t a lot of restaurants nearby, I found it doable. I took a tuk tuk around, so this was not a big issue.

The staff was very welcoming and always smiling. The pool was nice as well and the room was pretty big.

The location - you can only access the hotel using dirt road and there are no lights at all along the way. There is also a lot of rubbish and construction material alongside the road to the hotel everywhere but there is nothing the hotel can really do about it. The breakfast was also pretty small, not even any vegetables and only two kinds of fruit. For someone who doesn't eat any bread or pastries, the only option was eggs every day.

Most of the staff were amazing and very accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean.

We had booked transport through the hotel. We were supposed to get picked up at 10 pm however at 9pm the guy from reception told us that We had to leave now. He told ud they were going to bring us to a waiting area with ac and toilet opportunities. We were brought to an area without any A/C and no working toilets. We had to wait there until 23. One extra hour of waiting and also taking away our opportunity to sit at the hotel and relax. Other than that the rest of the staff were amazing!

Since arriving till leaving, all the staff that worked there were friendly, kind and took the time to learn our names. We had room issues on our first night and they resolved the situation very quickly and organised us another room. The pool was a welcome refreshing moment on the very hot days we had on our stay. Food was spot on and the one recommendation we would make for travellers thinking of using residence 1960, is organise your trip to have your washing done here because they have done the best laundry job we have seen in our many years of travel. Washed, dried and ironed for $2 a kg and not one garment was ruined.. Situated minutes away from local shops and 7/11 but set back enough for a tranquil rest. And the hotel offer a scooter hire service... We really would recommend this hotel to you.

Loved my stay here! The decoration is amazing, and it really gives you the vibe that you're in Cambodia. The room I stayed in was quite big, the bed was big (I think it was a king-sized bed), a bit hard but comfortable. The bathroom was big, too, and it included a bathtub, which was awesome. Laundry service was really good, one day turnaround, the clothes smelled nice and came back packed VERY tightly in a bag, which was very helpful with fitting everything nicely in my suitcase on my way out. Breakfast was good, eggs, fruit, and a couple of side options, which changed every day. The restaurant bar is open till 8 pm, with good options there. Prices seemed similar to those downtown. The hotel is located outside of the main tourist area around Pub Street, but it is not far away and it is easy and cheap to get there. A tuk tuk will take you there in 5-8 minutes for 2 dollars or less. Honestly, there are not that many things within walking distance of the hotel, but there are a couple of convenience stores, a small supermarket 5 or 6 minutes away by foot, some atms. The staff were all amazing, without exception! Always smiling and ready to help you out.

Not a lot, except maybe that my bathub's drain stopper wasn't closing properly, so the bathtub wouldn't fill in. I put some cheap tape whenever i took a bath, and it solved it.

Very friendly staff, the design of the hotel is really charming. There is a nice open space hang out area in the dining room and by the swimming pool. Breakfast included (eggs, toast, fried rice, fried veggies and fresh fruit). We arranged the taxi from/to the airport, another day to one further temple, and another day an Angkor Wat tuktuk for the sunrise tour. The drivers were very polite and on time - everything went ok. The hotel is communicating very well.

Not a big issue for us but the walls, doors and windows are not sound proof and Siem Reap is a loud town. Night or morning sounds (city music, morning prayers, breakfast conversations) might wake you up in the morning - good to bring ear plugs if you'd like to sleep in (this might be the same in every hotel). Due to overbookings/renovations we were moved to the River View hotel for two nights but the hotel arranged the transport of our luggage so it wasn't a problem.

On the morning I was due to arrive in Siem Reap city centre , hotel saff had already sent me an email making me feel welcome before I got here. When I arrived in town late afternoon, (on my birthday) I was astonished to be picked up at the bus terminal by a tuk tuk arrangand by the hotel and also absolutely speechless in what I found in my room when escorted personally by the Manager Mr. D carrying my bag for me. All of the staff Tha, Srey, Phan , Ravy , the cleaners, the Chef, the gardner are all truely WONDERFUL . I am greeted with Smiles , laughs, waves and Som Pas every morning and every evening. If there is a better place for me in Siem Reap I have not found it, I have looked and I have changed my travel plans to stay longer , here at Resindence 1960.

Nothing the Hotel is Great. I am a reserved, quiet person, a senior solo traveller. Residence 1960 is perfect for me as I like to walk , I like peaceful and quiet places and somewhere I can experience the local culture, residences and Cambodian life respectfully. If a pub street lifestyle is more your preference, there are a lot of alternatives closer to the centre of town.
