The a location - town and site - is wonderful. Baddeck is a charming town on Cape Breton's eastern shore. Auberge Gisele's Inn is located is on a hill overllooking the water and an old church so it has beautiful views. The restaurant is quite good. A smaller gazebo offers a pleasant place for families to picnic.

Auberge Gisele's Inn is much larger than the term "Inn" would suggest. There is a smaller main house, with restaurant, and two modern additions, large enough to house travelers on tour buses. Our room was perfectly pleasant - better than most on a long road trip - but without the charm one might expect from an "inn."

The room was nice, comfortable bath. The building looks a bit old and the entrances to the rooms were only accessible from outside (from a covered deck) but it wasn’t raining or anything so it was okay!

I almost got double charged for my room; so just make sure you check your email/printed receipt they give you. If I didn’t double check with reception at checkout I would have been charged twice. I paid the full amount on Booking - the lady at the front desk said that it’s not “actually” paid for on Booking. She double checked when asked and confirmed I had already paid the full amount.

Our room was clean and cheerful, and the twin beds were comfortable with nice linen. The location is close to the main tourist area of Baddeck and handy for walking to a local ceilidh. The elevated views from the hotel of the village of Baddeck and the lake were stunning, and the patio area of the hotel had beautiful flowers and baskets. Breakfast is a little extra cost, but the buffet and room together represented good value. The hotel staff were all polite and welcoming. We enjoyed or stay!

We liked everything! Well done, staff.

The location is excellent…you can walk to most things in Baddeck easily. Beds were comfortable, the room was spacious and it was lovely to have an additional occasional chair with stool for relaxing also lovely to have a fireplace in room which we didn’t need while we were there during the heat wave. Air Conditioning worked well however and we had windows that opened. Bathroom was spacious and water pressure was good. wonderful to have reasonably priced laundry on the premises. Staff were responsive. Food in dining room was very good but advance reservations are important.

Like most places we’ve been to in the Maritimes, staffing is an issue which means there dining room didn’t take reservations or serve beyond 7:30.

Very nice older hotel with scenic views from various shared outdoor patios and seating areas on the grounds. The buildings seem to be in very good condition and well kept. Easy walking distance to the main street of Baddeck where you can explore a variety of restaurants and shops. The rooms are nicely appointed with good beds and pillows. The on site laundry facilities are a welcome touch when on an extended vacation.

The parking is awkwardly woven in between the buildings which is inconvenient. The restaurant evening hours are short with the last reservations being at 6:30 pm so don’t arrive late if you want to dine on site. In town many restaurants take their last seatings by 8:30 - 9 citing labor shortage which unfortunately is very common so plan accordingly.

We stayed at Auberge Gisele's Inn to celebrate our anniversary. The room was cozy, comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast (included with the room) was hot and delicious. It included sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, porridge, toast, muffins, coffee, several choices of tea and three kinds of juice. The staff was kind and courteous and the grounds were beautiful. The room had a really nice fireplace. We will definitely be going back this winter!

Parking was limited. This could be due to the fact that our stay was in the middle of August; a very busy time of year.

The room was nice and clean and the bed was good too. The location was very good as well.

There was a humidity in the room that left the clothes somewhat damp but overall a good stay and would stay again. I did not fully understand the cleaning process since we did not leave early so the staff would knock and ask us if we needed towels since we were still in our room. Friendly staff. Breakfast was until 8:30, we are not early birds so 9:30 would have worked. There were coffee shops in town so that helped.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating, yards were lovely, the room was super clean and comfortable.

My only complaint is when you book with a third party- like booking.com- you can’t make any changes, if you have to, at the last minute. There is no refund whereas, if you book directly with the hotel they will accommodate it.

The premises were very attractive. The landscaping was beautiful. Staff were very nice. Rooms were very clean.

Rooms are a bit dated. Carpet in hotel rooms is a thing of the past. Laminate is so much more practical and especially so in seasonal structures where winter tends to leave a stale odor. Windows need drapes or blinds to control the early morning light.

The room was that of a standard hotel, which was fine for us. Our room had two beds and was spacious, with views of the lake. It looks as it has been recently painted and was clean. There was a fridge, which was useful and a coffee machine, which we didn't use. The location was excellent, a short walk to town. There was plenty of free parking.

The curtains were for show and didn't close. There were net curtains, but they didn't give privacy with the lights on and let daylight in.
