Amazing beautiful hotel over looking the bridge great friendly staff and awesome location ten minute walk to the Alderberry ferry across to Halifax downtown.Pool was perfect temperature and work out room was fantastic, beds where extremely comfy wanted to take home the pillows.
For a four star hotel and price point of rooms local competitor Hotels offer free breakfast we where dispointed when we had to pay $40 for two plates of bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and a coffee. If I would have known this I would have booked downtown Halifax.Room we where in had a great view of bridge although was noisy outside in which sounded like construction all night.Rooms are not sound proofed well and visible sounds could be heard through the walls.

Location Sewing pool Nice restaurant Lovely staff
Parking fees it unacceptable to charge a customer 5 $ a day do you expect him come to the hotel walking? Parking feed should be included in room fees It not about 5 $ but about accepting this bad practice Balcony and under window have to be cleaned Except this two all was exceptional

Central location. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is always very good.
A lot of people smoking near the entrances, both cigarettes and marijuana, particularly near the back entrance right on the sidewalk. I had to walk through the mud several times to get around them, and the smoke was pretty much unavoidable. This was the only bad part of the stay, but it would have me reconsidering staying there again.

Structure of the hotel, extremely confortable, fancy, well designed.
Staff rude. All started with the check-in with no information about facilities of the hotel, no breakfast time or local attractions. It's getting worst in the breakfast when we were waiting for someone with good will coming with some coffee. No information again. After all this waiting someone come again with a bill, even with the breakfast is included. Hope you don't need the room service, that was really rude.

The bed was very comfortable, the sheets and comforter were great! All of the staff were were very polite and good to deal with!
When I came in the room I found a pair of jeans in one of the drawers which made me feel as if the room wasnt looked over well. But I mentioned it to the cleaner and she was extremely nice and apologized! Also would have been nice if someone came in to clean the room without having to ask!

excellent service from employees. kids enjoyed the pool.
How noisy the heater/ac was all night. Also, the smell of weed was unreal. We had to keep our bathroom door shut as it seemed to be coming through the vent in there. Sooo strong. I honestly don’t care about people smoking weed at all, but would prefer it not to be so strong in my room LOL. it was crazy strong!

We drove all across Canada from Tofino, BC to Halifax and stayed at numerous hotels and motels as we drove across. The staff at the DoubleTree were the nicest and friendliest staff of anywhere we stayed, and we stayed at some fancy Fairmont hotels as we went across (ok, maybe the friendliness is tied with the staff at a motel we stayed at on Manitoulin Island). Because I was staying by myself with my dog, the friendly and available staff made me feel super safe and welcome. The location for walking my dog every morning was perfect as there is an off-leash dog area in a nearby park with super friendly local dog owners a very short walk away. Was easy to drive up to Windsor to see relatives or drive through Halifax to get out to Chester to visit other relatives and also easy to drive up to all the lovely Eastern Shore beaches. Also - it was nice and quiet in the room I stayed in, had a super comfy bed and pillow and blackout blinds, etc. which made for great sleeps. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you!!

The beds were very comfortable. I loved the possibility of having a patio during my stay. The pool had big windows with a beautiful view on the MacDonald Bridge. Clients have access to a pantry for a quick snack.
An important deposit of 50$ per night is taken. Fortunately for me, it was not an issue on my credit card, but it is certainly something that should be clarified to clients prior to booking. Limited choice of rooms that allows dog, only the second floor.

After traveling 5 hours to arrive at another previously booked hotel only to find out they no longer had our reservation we were in a pinch. Found this place and the girl on the front desk Lindsay was just an angel! She hooked us up with a couple of great rooms, did her best to give us a half decent price and was just sweet to deal with! Thanks Double tree for coming through!

Lovely hotel with great location! Situated right next to the bridge to cross into Halifax and walking distance to Alderny Landing (ferry terminal). Large room with very comfy beds! Option of having a balcony with the room is great! We had an amazing view of the harbour and Halifax from our bed! Mini fridge was nice to have and we had more than enough towels for the whole weekend in the bathroom.
The heater (that is also the AC machine) in the room was very loud when it started...
