Dunlop Inn is extraordinary. The house is set on the water and has a comfortable deck from which to enjoy the view and sunrise. Our room was comfortable. Ours had a separate bathroom across the hall but it was private just for us. It was a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Coffee and tea is available all the time. The location is good for walking to shops and restaurants. The owners and staff are so lovely. Check in was at a different location indicated by a sign on the door.

Everything was great.

The deck out back was beautiful! We wished it wasn’t raining so we could have enjoyed it more.

I didn’t love having the bathroom separate from the room, but we knew when booking that was the case. If we stay again, we’ll get a room with a bathroom.

The inn was very nicely laid out, immaculate, pleasantly decorated, and had a cozy vibe. The charming sunroom and outdoor seating facing the water were unexpected pleasures. The host for breakfast was very welcoming — super friendly and helpful, and created a warm atmosphere. Breakfast was yummy, and included homemade traditional Cape Breton baked goods…an especially nice surprise! The inn is steps away from a wonderful restaurant on the pier, as well as the charming downtown area…and the Alexander Graham Bell site is also located close by. We’ll absolutely stay here again if we have an opportunity to make a return visit to the area.

The room was lovely and very homey!! The beds were comfy and breakfast was very good. The view from out back was beautiful!!

Our bed was a little small for two people so one of us slept on the single bed that was also in the room. The bathroom was pretty tiny but it was lovely and the shower was a nice size. Nothing that was a huge deal though. We would stay here again.

The Inn is in a perfect location within the town. Parking was available and easily accessible. The exterior and interior of the inn are aesthetically lovely and the place is very clean. Staff was curteous and helpful. Our second floor room was charming and quiet, as was the entire inn. The breakfast selections were plentiful. Also, I'm a sea glass hunter and on the tiny pebble "beach"/water front at the Inn I gathered a handful of good quality glass within just a few minutes.

The location was excellent, the staff were exceptionally friendly and the breakfast items were varied. The one thing I appreciated the most was that they were the only place we visited in 12 days that offered lactose free milk.

The air conditioning unit is in the window, thus there is no way to get fresh air flowing instead. Also difficult to have the air conditioner on and the curtains closed. Minor issue though.

Gorgeous property with an excellent location! It's a waterfront property with its own dock and two kayaks, my kid and I paddled to the island more than a hundred meters away, a wonderful experience. it's next to the Bell museum, where I have learned a lot about the renowned figure and his times. less than 5 minutes walk to the pier. The staff Carl is super helpful and more than 100% patient and responsible. Carl always gives help more than expected. Having breakfast at the back door patio while watching the great view is enjoyable. btw, many books in the lobby, and some introduce local history. Great stay!

Very clean and well maintained. Centrally located. A classy feeling in a renovated older inn.

Bathroom door had ‘privacy’ glass panes and shower had a glass block wall facing the room. With the lights on in the bathroom you could clearly see the silhouette of the person standing inside and/or showering. Things were ‘blurred’ but more privacy would have been appreciated.

The view is lovely and the Inn provides chairs both on the deck (with firepit), and on the lower part of the property. It was very relaxing to sit and enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. Breakfast, was continental and help yourself but everything was provided and everything was fresh. We would book this place again if we were to be back this way.

Although we appreciated the en-suite bathroom, it and the room were very tight quarters. We were travelling with our 13 year old granddaughter who is taller than either of us, so it felt crowded. That said, the beds were comfortable and the room was visually very attractive. We were only there one night.

Carl was a great host. We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready so he invited to use the kayaks while the room was being cleaned. We had a great paddle around a small island and returned to our ready room. The porch area was cozy with beautiful views over the water. We watched the full moon rise. It was a perfect evening and a great day staying at the Dunlop in Baddeck.
