very nice location at downtown, cafe shops and restaurants and train station within walking distance, room is quite and nicely sized and comfortable, had natural light to the room

New hotel, great location, nice design, quietness, great food at the restaurant.

A few small things: due to the layout of the hotel there are no stairs leading to the 3rd level where we stayed and the 2nd elevator did not work for 5 days, the quality of wi-fi internet was very poor (regularly out of service), the service in the restaurant was very poor (so we preferred to use room service instead), we found it strange that the general light in the room could not be turned off from the bed.

The hotel has a great vibe with attention to detail. It is welcoming and the staff are very helpful. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Great decor. The location is excellent with walking distance to the Parliament Buildings and the trendy Byward market.

Our room was very noisey 1. proximetary to the main road 2. Guests with unruley children. There was also a member of staff that appeared to be struggeling, we reported and feel it will be dealt with in a sensitive manner.

We had quite a bitter situation, but manager did her best to solve it in the very end. Location is great, lobby is nice looking.

We had a one night stay in this hotel. We've been provided with extremely dark room on the 2nd floor without ceiling lamp and windows facing the wall. Stuff on side said that they completely booked and can't change the room for us (we asked for something at least on higher floors with a bit more of light in it) and started to convince us that they already did upgrade of our room for bigger one (which I never asked). No attempt to please the customer or at least reduce the level of disappointment a little. Once we back in the room and sat down on the bed - lamp which is mounted in the bed headband just fall off on the pillow. This was fixed after, but left another sour feeling.

The shower water was lukewarm not hot, we stayed on the 6th floor and I don't know if it was because of the penthouse or if it was like that throughout the hotel. But luckily the heating in the room was hot enough and we didn't ask for a room change as we only booked a two night stay!

The impeccable and friendly service of the staff. Our housekeeper on the 5th floor was lovely and helpful all week, as were the front desk and restaurant staff (hurrah for the bartenders who made great lattes with big smiles on each morning!). The lobby plants were stunning as well, and the beds more comfortable than mine at home.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was nice, the coffee in the room was great, too. The room was a bit small, as we had expected but we didn’t spend much time there except to sleep. The location was perfect. Walking distance to Spark St, Parliament Hill and the ByWard Market. It was quite quiet during the night, as well. The other property we had considered was right in the Market area and we were happy we chose a more quiet hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Staying at The Metcalfe by Gray Collection for a getaway truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel's beauty and aesthetics were remarkable, and the price was definitely worth it. The rooms were immaculately clean, leaving me with nothing to complain about. Additionally, the complimentary Nespresso bar and Oysters were a delightful touch, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff went above and beyond with their exceptional hospitality, and the shampoo's delightful fragrance was an added bonus. Overall, it was an outstanding stay.

Distance to parliament was a 7 mins walk. Another 7 to Byward market. If walking isn't an issue, this hotel is in a nice and quiet part of the city with lots of food options, convenience store and liquor store nearby. Really nice decor. Kids enjoyed the ball court and ping pong table.

I found the room a bit small for 4 people. Would do a bigger room next time. We had the second floor suite above the restaurant and found the patio music was a little loud up until 11pm.
