What a relief to finally have a place to stay at the Addis airport. I can't tell you how many times I've flown through there with painfully long layovers. I've slept in a cold terminal on an aluminum bench. I've taken the "free" hotel provided by Ethiopian Airlines only to sit on a bus for two hours before leaving the airport and having to board one 3 hours before my flight. Here you can stumble off the plane, walk a few hundred meters and get settled into a perfectly comfortable room (one of the best in terminal places I've ever stayed) for a reasonable price especially if you book online at the airport with booking. Wake up in the morning to a nice breakfast and re-emerge into the chaos that is Addis airport.

It's a small complaint but the TV in the room was impossible to manage due to some technical issues. It was late but had to get a technician to turn it off.

The hotel is conveniently located within the airport, the dinner buffet was enjoyable

Although the room features a big-screen TV, there are limited channels available, only a few commercial channels, and 1 channel in Chinese offering many channels showing movies, dramas, etc. - it is not useful unless you understand Chinese! The escalator is operational only for descending, not for ascending - and the hotel is located at the base of a lengthy staircase.

Breakfast was filling and friendly. The room was just what the doctor ordered to make those 12 hour layovers doable without a lot of cattle calls to bus and customs chaos. Since Ethiopian Airlines seems to own both the in terminal and regular Skylight hotels, it is a great idea.

Since Ethiopian Airlines provided a voucher to the regular Skylight Hotel as part of my air ticket, it would have been nice if they had given a little discount to their in terminal version if the customer like me was willing to spring extra for in terminal maybe. They also should really fix the up escalator which seemed to be the sole path to the departure gates from the hotel. It was a pretty formidable obstacle for an old man first thing in the morning!

A great hotel within the terminal and just steps away from your boarding gate. No need for transit visa in order to stay here. The room was spacious and clean and the huge shower was a welcome sight after a long day of traveling. Ethiopian air provides a layover hotel but it’s off site, whereas this one is in the airport.

The air conditioning never seemed to fully work and the room is actually quite expensive for the convenience. $200 for a night of sleep (6-7 hours) is pricey in any hotel.

The staff were lovely, and it's so convenient just being able to walk off the plane and into the hotel. The room was spotless, and felt really luxurious, not like a transit hotel at all. The shower was great and there were lots of toiletries provided. The working space and wifi were an absolute dream - it's great to be able to quickly catch up on things before you go to sleep. Beds were super comfy too, and I think the rooms must be soundproofed because I barely heard anything through the night. If I'm transiting through Addis again I'm 100% booking this hotel again.

My room didn't have a hairdryer which I found a little odd. Also when I first arrived, there was confusion with the airline staff who kept insisting that the hotel was full even when I explained to them that I had a booking. They were actually very rude and I ended up waiting in an irrelevant queue for information for 20 minutes before I decided to check with the hotel myself. Not the hotel's fault at all but travellers should be aware to move down to the hotel and check with them directly. If I had believed the airport staff I'd have been placed in a hotel offsite, had to purchase a transit visa and been a no show at this hotel, leaving me out of pocket.

The hotel is right inside the terminal, so you avoid doing immigration if you’re only doing a layover. Rooms are spacious and clean, located above the gates, so just a 5mins walk away. Breakfast is included in the fee. The staff at the reception were incredibly kind.

Ask at reception for a less noisy room as are right above the gates and it will be difficult to sleep without earplugs.

The staff were very professional and efficient. The rate of exchange had changed between my reservation and check in but the front desk staff were very attentive to make sure I wouldn’t be over charged and the necessary refund was very promptly completed. Excellent experience. Rooms are chic, clean, and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and the environment was pleasant.

I had Skylight in -terminal booking, but once I went out of domestic airport I learned that In terminal hotel is insight airport , so I was redirected to Skylight Hotel, which was amazing hotel to stay. Staff was very helpfull (Abraham), with explaining the diffrence between these two locations, and possibility to stay in Skylight location, without charging extra charge for price difference. So, it was amazing service. Location of the hotel although is close to airport is excellent for city tour and other tourist connections. Hotel has got few excellent restaurants, sauna, swimming pool, etc. Highly recommended for any trip to Addis Abeba (family, private or business). Surely visit again with pleasure.

We had a 12 hour layover in Addis and this room was perfect as it allowed us to sleep through the night and start again fresh the next morning. You don't leave the terminal or pass any immigration services so we didn't need a visa even though we were there for just over 12 hours. Breakfast was varied and the room comfortable.

The location is excellent for transiting through Addis Ababa and the cuisine was a lot more international on this visit - well done to the management and service team.

It would be good to have a better TV selection for international travellers, especially with easy to navigate news channels.
