Ideally located for our early morning train the day after our stay, the hotel is cosy, clean and comfortable, and is everything you'd want from a stay in this area. Be aware that whilst the hotel isn't the nearest to the city centre, if you book a premium room, you can make use of their complimentary tram pass to get into the city centre.

We had a bottle of wine on the night of our arrival which really wasn't pleasant at all, but unfortunately due to a language barrier, no apology or allowance against the wine was forthcoming, either then or the following morning when it was mentioned.

Amazing staff. They were always on hand to offer advice on what to do, travelling on the tram and restaurants etc. Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful, in particular, we would like to mention Perrine, who we feel is an exceptional asset to the hotel. Breakfast was lovely and always fresh and plentiful. We were greeted every morning with a smile! Easy access to train station and tram. Quick link to airport by coach, as recommended by Perrine.

Rooms are quite small but adequate. Storing luggage is difficult.

The staff was friendly and tried to understood us although we did not speak French. The hotel was beautiful, cozy. The breakfast was ok.

First of all, they said that have parking but it did not specify that there were limited parking lots. When we arrived, they did not have available parking lots. There was a public parking lot but it was very pricey, 59 euros for less than 24 hrs. Also, the room was very little. We have two carry luggage but someone with two big one, the situation will be a little difficult in the room.

Loved everything. It was so close to the train which was so nice after a heatwave and a miserable four hours in a hot car. The staff was all so nice and spoke good English. The room was a good size and was so fresh and clean. The wifi was perfect and the AC was nice and strong and cold the whole time. The breakfast was delicious too. Loved my stay here. Have definitely paid twice the price for hotels not nearly as good while I've been on this trip.

Maybe another person on staff so that room service could be brought to my room, had to go pick it up from the front desk. Not a huge deal but was a small inconvenience.

The room, no 203, although tiny, had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The À/C was best I’ve ever used. Setting it to auto gave a cool temperature with no noisy fan! 👍 We didn’t experience any disturbance from outside, good sound insulation with windows closed. Every staff member we met was very charming and helpful. Reception, breakfast and housekeeping teams all did a fantastic job. We happened to be around one evening when Melanie had to deal with a problem, which she handled perfectly, very impressive! Breakfast itself had a good choice of quality, local items, staff went out of their way to serve and replenish items as required. A great start to the day! Would definitely recommend and return again.

The hotel was spotless clean. Comfortable big beds. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast had good options both continental and hot food. the hotel is close to tram stop and easily accessible to the airport buses.

If travelling solo, use tram into city when dark. I felt ok walking around during the day when bright.

This was our first time in Bordeaux and didn't really know what to expect. However, what a City! Will definitely be going back and would definitely stay at the Best Western Plus Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean again. We were originally booked in at the Hilton, but they had to cancel our booking due to technical issues, and we had to look for another hotel rather quickly with parking - Hilton did offer us an alternative but the Parking was in a public car park and had really bad reviews, so we declined and said we would sort ourselves out. And we found this little gem. There is parking that has to be reserved - it is a really good parking garage that takes 5 cars and there is adequate space for quiet big cars. The hotel is lovely, and the staff were very helpful, even with me running backwards and forwards as we did not get to the garage doors quick enough...my fault!! The hotel is just opposite the train station, but you cannot hear the station at all when you are in the rooms, and we had rooms overlooking the train station at the front of the hotel. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre square of Bordeaux, but it is all flat and you get to see a lot of the city, and you can walk it along the river.

Very convenient location when travelling by train - a few minutes walk from Gare St Jean. Trams to the city centre run past the hotel (not noisy, very convenient). Pleasant staff. Very good & varied continental breakfast. Pleasant breakfast room. Some nearby restaurants (opposite the station entrance) but very easy to access the huge range in the city centre. We had a quirky superior room with freestanding bath and shower and sink off the bedroom, curious but it worked well.

Location is perfect for exploring Bordeaux and just across the road from Gare St Jean where the airport shuttle stops. Perrine, the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful at my 9.30 am arrival and an early check in was possible. It is so easy to walk into the city from here, winding through atmosphere streets and historic buildings. You can also just hope on a tram for 1 euro 70, just across the way. So easy and so quick. Rooms are lovely, clean and cool (if you want) and the bed was very comfortable. It might be a little more expensive than other places but worth it. The breakfast and coffee in particular was delicious. But of course you may prefer to have your croissant in the city with a cafe vibe instead.

Right from the moment we arrived the staff helped us out with all our questions and to find our way into Bordeaux city. The overall staff experience is great. Breakfast was excellent with a nice selection of bread, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and juices and these options varied from day to day. It was great that free tram tickets were included in our room option, as well as the minibar. We were offered a coffee before leaving the hotel which was a nice touch! We enjoyed it.

The rooms are rather on the small side, even when we selected the superior room. The air conditioning was leaking water and caused some noise throughout the night.
