The hotel was a fantastic property with very nice rooms and amenities. The room was spacious and had a deep soaking tub. My wife and I enjoyed using the jet tub and sauna during our stay. It was very nice to get a soak and sauna at the end of the day. The immediate surrounding area may not be the nicest, but it is a quick 20-minute walk to many places in town. The Marché des Capucins is very close and delicious.

The wifi available for the guests was frustrating to use, very slow, and it would continuously disconnect from my phone and computer. While it is good to not be on the computer while on holiday, it would be nice to have quick internet to get anything on the computer done quickly and not be kicked off the network repeatedly.

Very nice building and rooms. Liked the garden and the working people there are very friendly & helpfull. City is nearby and easy to walk to.

Downside the open bath and shower. You have to close the curtains a lot if you want some privacy during the day. The TV could be slight bigger or some Netflix on it. Most programmes are French. There is no fridge inside the room and would be handy to have during warm summers.

This is an exceptional hotel which seems to be unfortunately unknown. The way this old building (1900 ' plus) has been renovated and extended as well as the interior decoration are unique and can be considered as a piece of art. I have no connections in any way with the owners or managers of this hotel but I just feel that this needs to be said as some hosts comments seem to be too much framed by very standard and common hotels supposedly luxurious(which by the way I can appreciate as well) to be able to be sensitive to the inventiveness and subtlety of the Zoologie hotel. In a certain way, the Zoologie hotel deserves a visit in itself

I would say that the Zoologie hotel and its employees do not seem to be fully aware of the value of the creation in which they are operating (they don't even how who designed the hotel). The same hotel in Paris, New York or Dubai that I am regularly visiting would look after very small luxury details that wealthy people appreciate (like the quality of the clothes of its employees) and push their prices high to hell. But you are not in the most gentrificated district of Bordeaux and this might explain why you can sometimes book rooms at a very reasonable price for what they are. This is a additional reason to run and choose the Zoologie hotel

Easy walk into the historical part of town and easy access from and to the station. Quiet location Access (albeit limited times) to the Spa enjoyed the private balcony in the Geological wing to enjoy some afternoon sunshine and read Very good service and food at dinner

In our room , no where to hang towels or dry swimming costume from the spa Concrete ceiling for us was wierd, would be much better painted from a sensory perspective Breakfast service a bit hit and miss.

Friendly and helpful staff who, when there was a problem, dealt with it with great professionalism. Very stylish hotel with extremely pleasing interior design and beautiful outside terrace and garden area. Spacious room with very comfortable beds.

Problem with dinner as the kitchen was not geared up to deal with a gluten free diet, even though this had been requested. The food in the restaurant was not up to standard. Waiter was as helpful as he could be. On check out the manager very satisfactorily dealt with the issue.

the rooms were reasonably spacious, the bar and breakfast areas looked contemporary in design

in an almost uniformly beautiful city, the hotel is located on the edge of a bad neighbourhood that is not at all pretty and has mostly crappy shops around it. So, you will need walk across town or catch a tram to have a coffee somewhere decent. For that reasons alone, we cannot recommend it (despite the hotel itself having an interesting modern design).

I loved this hotel. All the staff were excellent and really made a difference to our stay all were professional, friendly and attentive. The hotel itself was beautiful and the spa was fantastic. The hotel felt clean and tidy and the facilities were excellent. There was L’Occitane in the rooms, as well as loose leaf tea bags in a number of flavors as well as coffee pods. We stayed here twice as we liked this hotel so much.

This is a quirky, stylish hotel with lots of interesting architectural features. People interested in design would love it. The beds were comfortable, the huge windows in our room were glorious, and the staff were outstanding (especially Alice!). It was very conveniently located near the train station, bus stop and tram stop.

The location is not in a particularly nice part of town, though it is easy to get everywhere by tram or bus. The room had no fridge, but it did have a kettle - what if you like (fresh) milk in your tea or coffee? The glass en suite walls are a nonsense - I was travelling with a friend and we ended up draping bathrobes all over it to provide some privacy.

We absolutely loved the hotel. The architecture was stunning. Our room was superb. We originally booked because it had a garden, a spa and was central. But the hotel turned out to be top notch! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the breakfast good, we had a delicious bar snack one evening. The bed was really comfortable. Very modern finish. Great coffee in the room. We will definitely come back. What a find!

Nothing. It was fantastic.

Staff was very attentive and helpful, hotel is very unique and has quirky open living space rooms. Restaurants and bar facilities are great, we had the room service snack bar menu one night and is good with a few nice options. Spa is a lovely touch to relax after exploring the city.

Spa facilities are minimal - consist of just 1 sauna, 1 steam room and a hydro pool. Treatment availability was limited if not provisionally booked!
